Citrine is a rare starstone in Palia that you gather almost entirely through mining. It shows up as a chance drop when you break the right rock and clay nodes, and it feeds into quests, Bulletin Board bundles, and gifting. Because the drop is random, the fastest way to stockpile it is to mine a lot of the correct nodes in the regions where it spawns.

Which nodes drop Citrine
Citrine is tied to a specific set of mining nodes rather than falling from every rock in the world. It drops from Clay and Stone in the two main overworld regions, from Whitestone in Elderwood, and from the Stone nodes that appear on your own plot. Node size does not lock you out. Small, Medium, and Large nodes can all produce it.

Note: The Whitestone nodes in Elderwood require an upgraded pick. A Standard Pick will not break them, so upgrade to at least a Fine Pick before farming Whitestone. Larger Whitestone nodes need an even higher-rarity pick such as the Exquisite Pick.

Kilima Valley is the most reliable early spot because Clay and Stone nodes cluster along the coast. Three areas hold the densest concentrations, all within easy reach of a starting player.

The drop is pure luck, so the only way to improve your odds is to break more of the correct nodes. You might pull several Citrine in a row, or clear dozens of rocks and see none. Volume is the lever you control.

Citrine is a Rare-tier starstone worth 210 Gold at basic quality and 315 Gold at Star Quality. Beyond selling, it has three practical roles.
- Quests: The guide quest The Nurture of Shadows asks for 1x Citrine among its repair materials.
- Bundles: It is required to complete the Prize Pool Bulletin Board bundle.
- Gifting: It is liked by Auni, Reth, and Zeki, and gifting a matching starstone triggers special dialogue plus a strong friendship boost.
Star Quality Citrine can also be placed as decor on your Housing Plot, so keep a starred one aside if you like the look.
How to confirm you got it
When a node breaks and rolls Citrine, the item drops on the ground with the rest of the loot and moves into your inventory once you collect it. Check your inventory under the Materials group, where it sits in the Starstone category. If you needed it for a quest or bundle, the objective updates as soon as the required amount is in your bags.
If Citrine never appears, the usual reason is the wrong node type or the wrong region. Mining generic rocks outside the Clay, Stone, and Whitestone set, or using a pick too weak to break Whitestone in Elderwood, will keep you from ever rolling it.
