Tale of Two Binnies is a Discovery Quest handed out by Binnie, the trash-obsessed Piksii who shows up the first time you interact with a piece of Aristocrat’s Decor in the Royal Highlands. The premise is simple enough: Binnie’s “treasure” was supposedly stolen by the Crab Empire, and you have to get it back. In practice, that means farming shells on the beach until a King Crab coughs up a very dirty crown.
Quick answer: Pick up shells along the shoreline until one spawns a golden King Crab, daze it with smoke bombs to catch it, and loot it for Binnie’s… Crown?. Then follow the quest marker back to Binnie and hand it over for the Aristocrat’s Rug and its recipe.
Requirements before you start the quest
This is a Bug Catching quest wearing a foraging disguise. You cannot complete it by walking up to a King Crab and grabbing it, so make sure your loadout is sorted before you head to the coast.

Note: the piece of Aristocrat’s Decor you interact with can be tucked away in odd spots — an armchair sitting out among the cliffside ruins, or a standing mirror inside a cave. Binnie appears and starts talking regardless of which one you find first.
Where to collect shells and spawn King Crabs
The objective reads “Capture King Crabs by collecting shells until you find Binnie’s crown,” and it means it literally. Shells are forageable pickups scattered across sandy beaches, and each one you grab has a chance to spawn a golden King Crab right next to you. No shells means no crabs, so the loop is entirely dependent on how much beach you can cover.
Enfield Shores is the go-to stretch, but any beach with a healthy shell density works. Players have run the same loop along the southern coastline south of Embra’s Folly and on the Bahari Bay sand between the Steps of Renova and Fortuna Falls. In some coastal areas, mining the rocks along the shoreline can also produce a crab.

How to confirm the crown registered
The quest tracker updates the moment the crown lands in your bag. The objective flips from the shell-collecting line to “Return to Binnie,” and the entry is marked as ready to turn in. If the tracker still shows the collection objective, the crown has not dropped yet, no matter how many crabs are sitting in your inventory.
Where to find Binnie for the turn-in
Binnie waits at the Central Stables in the Royal Highlands, hovering near the stone structures rather than standing on the ground. Open your map and follow the quest marker; it points to the exact hand-in spot, which sits among the ruins in that area.
Binnie is the blue butterfly-looking Piksii floating in place. Interact with them and pick the “I found your crown.” dialogue option to hand it over.
Binnie is delighted that the crown is now caked in sand and dirt, floats the idea of building a kingdom out of trash to rival Florapinacarolina’s beehive, and then hands you a rug for keeping dirt out of your house — a concept they find baffling. Once the conversation ends, the “Quest Completed!” banner appears.

That last one matters more than the rug. Binnie functions as a merchant who only deals in “trash,” including Infected Essence, and trading with them is the only route to some Aristocrat’s Decor recipes as well as every Elderwood Decor recipe.
Why the crown isn’t dropping
- You are searching inland instead of on the sand. Shells only appear on beaches, and shells are what spawn the crabs.
- The crab escaped. If it is not dazed by smoke bombs and caught, you get nothing from it, including no crown roll.
- You caught the crab but did not loot it. The crown arrives with the loot pickup, not the catch animation.
- Not every shell spawns a crab, and not every crab carries the crown. Both stages are chance-based, so a long dry streak is normal rather than a bug.
The whole thing rarely takes more than a beach lap or two if you come stocked with smoke bombs, and the King Crabs you pile up along the way are worth keeping regardless.
