Palworld 1.0: Best Weak Point Damage Build for Hard Mode Bosses

A fixed three-Pal core plus two element-matched slots that drops most Hard Mode Tower Bosses in about 20 to 45 seconds.

A fixed three-Pal core plus two element-matched slots that drops most Hard Mode Tower Bosses in about 20 to 45 seconds.

Hard Mode bosses in Palworld 1.0 carry huge health pools, but a player damage build tuned around weak point hits skips most of that grind. The setup rests on three things stacking together: a fixed trio of Pals that raise your weak point damage, an elemental mount that converts your attacks to whatever the boss is weak to, and gear that pushes your Attack as high as it goes. Built correctly, most Hard Mode Tower Bosses fall in roughly 20 to 45 seconds.

Quick answer: Lock Vanwyrm Cryst, Cryolinx Terra, and Solenne into your party for every fight, then fill the last two slots with an elemental mount that matches the boss weakness plus the Pal that boosts weak point damage for that same element. Aim your ranged weapon at the boss head for stacked, compounding damage.

The three core Pals that stay in every fight

Three Pals form the permanent backbone of this build. Their whole job is raising your weak point damage, and because that bonus applies to every boss regardless of type, they never leave your party. Treat them as fixed and do not swap them between encounters.

  • Vanwyrm Cryst (Ice/Dark) rides as a flying mount and raises the damage you deal to enemy weak points by 50%.
  • Cryolinx Terra (Ground) adds a stacking weak point booster through Explosive Strength, increasing the power of your next weak point attack by 60%.
  • Solenne (Dark/Neutral) grants Untainted Maiden, an 80% Attack boost that applies while every Pal in the party is a different species.

Because Solenne’s bonus needs five unique species, keeping the two flexible slots filled with different Pals is part of the build, not an afterthought.

Match the two open slots to the boss element

The last two party slots are where you adapt to each boss. Slot one is an elemental mount that changes your attack type to the boss weakness. Slot two is the support Pal that raises weak point damage for that same element. Stacking the element conversion on top of the weak point multiplier is where the massive numbers come from, because both bonuses compound rather than replace each other.

Against a Dragon type boss, for example, ride Frostallion to turn your attacks into Ice damage, then pair it with Moldron Cryst. Moldron Cryst’s Partner Skill raises player and Pal Ice damage to enemy weak points by 40%. You hit the boss elemental weakness and its weak point at the same instant. The pattern repeats for every element: read the weakness, bring the mount that converts to it, and bring the matching Pal that pushes weak point damage for it.

Passive skills for the mount and support Pal

Passives split into two jobs. The mount carries survival passives so you stay alive and uninterrupted while riding, and the elemental support Pal carries offense. The offensive passives stack across the whole party, so a properly built pair gives you around 40% more damage and 40% more Defense on top of faster reloads.

RolePassiveWhy it matters
MountDiamond Body, Idiosyncratic, Sacrificed Meat ShieldDefense plus flinch immunity to keep you mounted and firing
MountDimensional LeapMovement speed, the most flexible of the survival options
SupportVanguardRaises player Attack
SupportStronghold StrategistRaises player Defense
SupportReload MasterFaster reload for steadier weak point pressure
SupportIdiosyncraticHealth regeneration and burn/poison immunity

Note: The flinch immunity from the mount does more than it looks. Staying uninterrupted is what keeps every stacked bonus active for the full fight instead of getting knocked out of your rhythm.

Best weapons for weak point damage

Since most of your damage flows from elemental bonuses and weak point multipliers, the build works with nearly any ranged weapon. A few stand out, and melee falls short here.

WeaponWhy it works
Drone LauncherDrones keep dealing damage while you continue firing
Plasma RifleConsistent and forgiving on accuracy, holds steady pressure on weak points
Mechanical BowHuge weak point damage when fully built, but demands accuracy and boss hitboxes can make shots inconsistent
Melee weaponsDo not scale well enough and trail behind ranged options even with specialized setups

A well-built Mechanical Bow shows what this build can hit. Aimed at a boss head, single arrows land for 11,000 to 15,000 damage against fights like Zoe & Grizzbolt and Axel & Orserk, which is what turns a half-million health bar into a short fight.

Best accessories for Attack and survivability

Accessories should push your Attack as far as possible while keeping your mount alive so the buffs never drop. Stack the damage pieces first, then add defense if you die before the boss does.

AccessoryEffect
Attack PendantLarge Attack increase
Dogen EmblemBoosts Attack for you and your active Pal
Silvegis EmblemBoosts Defense for you and your active Pal
Warsect Terra’s BeltGreatly raises Defense and Health
Vanguard CharmHeat and Cold Resistance plus Health Up for elemental arenas

An Attack food buff layers on top of all of this. Eikthyrdeer Loco Moco, for instance, raises Attack by 20% for a period, and eating it right before you engage adds free damage that stacks with the passives.

How to confirm the build is working

You know the setup is dialed in when the boss health bar drops in seconds instead of minutes and each weak point hit lands for far more than a normal shot. On a boss kill, the yellow “BOSS ELIMINATED” text confirms the run.

If a fight drags, the usual cause is a mismatched element. Check that your mount is converting your attacks to the boss weakness and that the paired support Pal covers that same element before you engage. A second common problem is missing the weak point entirely, since the compounding damage only fires on head or weak point hits, not body shots. Getting frozen, stunned, or knocked off the mount also drops your stacked buffs, which is why the flinch immunity passives on the mount are not optional.

Keep the three core Pals fixed, rotate only the two elemental slots per fight, and lead with weak point shots. That single loop is what deletes Hard Mode bosses without turning each one into a war of attrition.
