How to Get and Use the Ancient Relic Recycler in Palworld 1.0

Unlock the Level 74 machine, feed it relics and Holy Water, and turn spare loot into Paloxite, implants, and Skill Fruits.

Unlock the Level 74 machine, feed it relics and Holy Water, and turn spare loot into Paloxite, implants, and Skill Fruits.

The Ancient Relic Recycler is a late-game production machine in Palworld 1.0 that refines spare Ancient Relics into usable materials. Drop relics and World Tree Holy Water into it, keep it powered, and it returns items like Paloxite, implants, manuals, cores, and Skill Fruits. Reaching it takes real progress, since the recipe sits deep in the Technology Tree and its ingredients come from the endgame World Tree region.

Quick answer: Unlock the recycler at Level 74 for 3 Technology Points, craft it with 30 Ancient Civilization Parts, 20 Ancient Civilization Core, 50 Paloxite Ingot, and 50 Mythical Wood, then place it at a base with a working Power Generator. Load relics plus World Tree Holy Water, assign a Pal, switch Power to ON, and press V to acquire the output.

Unlock and craft the Ancient Relic Recycler

The recycler is a Production Technology added in the 1.0 update, and it appears in the Technology tab once you reach Level 74. There is no way to skip the level requirement, so you need steady progress before it becomes available. Spend 3 Technology Points to unlock the recipe, then gather the crafting materials.

MaterialAmountWhere it comes from
Ancient Civilization Parts30Drops from Raid and Alpha bosses
Ancient Civilization Core20Dropped by Raid bosses
Paloxite Ingot50Crafted at the Ancient Furnace from Soralite, Paloxite, and World Tree Holy Water
Mythical Wood50Cut from rare trees in the World Tree area

The build carries a 10,000 workload, so it takes a while to finish once you start crafting. Both Paloxite Ingot and Mythical Wood come out of the World Tree biome, which is what makes this an endgame project. Build the recycler at a base that already has a live power supply so it is ready to run the moment you place it.

Run the recycler correctly

The recycler behaves like any other powered base machine. It needs an input, a fuel item, a Pal to operate it, and a live power source. Miss any one of those and it either sits idle or burns relics without producing anything.

Build a Power Generator at the same base and keep a Pal actively producing electricity. The recycler will not start without a working power source, so this comes first.
Interact with the machine and place Ancient Relics into the upper input slots. There are twelve Ancient Relic slots, and you can mix different relic types in the same batch.
Add World Tree Holy Water to the lower input. The Holy Water sits in its slot and does not visibly drain as the machine works, but it still needs to be there.
Open the Assignment Board and assign a Pal with the Medicine suitability to the recycler. A Handiwork Pal such as Sekhmet, Anubis, or Bellanoir Libero speeds up processing.
Toggle the Power switch at the bottom left of the interface to ON. The progress bar fills as the assigned Pal works, and finished materials collect in the output slots.
Once processing finishes, walk up to the physical machine and press V to acquire the items. Transfer the generated materials from the output slots into your inventory.

Note: You know it worked when the acquire box fills and the relic count drops in step with the materials you receive. A working recycler returns an item for every relic it processes.

Which relics to use and what you get back

Feeding relics into the machine returns a mix of high-tier materials, including Paloxite, implants, manuals, Ancient Civilization Cores, Radiant Gems, schematics, and Skill Fruits. It is built to convert relics you do not otherwise need into resources you can use, so it is most valuable once relics start piling up. Relics themselves drop from bosses, minibosses, and shiny encounters in the endgame areas.

There are five relic types you can insert. Rarity shifts the output somewhat, but the reward pools stay broadly similar across tiers, so there is no strong reason to hold back rarer relics. Feed the machine whatever you have on hand.

Ancient RelicRarity tier
Decayed Ancient RelicLowest
Dormant Ancient RelicStandard
Gorgeous Ancient RelicMid
Glowing Ancient RelicHigher
Glistening Ancient RelicHighest

Once it is powered and staffed, the recycler can run in the background while you handle other tasks. That makes it a passive way to farm endgame materials like Ancient Bone instead of repeatedly flying to Sanctuary islands to break nodes by hand.

Fix a recycler that eats relics but makes nothing

The common failure state is relics disappearing while the acquire box stays empty. When that happens, the cause is almost always one of a few specific problems. Work through them in order.

SymptomCause and fix
Relics vanish, acquire box stays emptyInstalled mods can break the machine. Loose PAK files that boost schematic or item drop rates are known to stop it producing. Remove those mod files entirely, then reload and test again.
Output disappears after processingAn assigned Pal may be hauling finished materials to a chest. Check the storage boxes around your base before assuming the machine failed.
Machine never startsNo electricity. Build a Power Generator and keep a Pal generating power, since the recycler will not run without it.
Holy Water is not consumedThis is normal. The Holy Water sits in the slot without visibly depleting, so a full count is not a sign of a broken machine.

The mod issue is the most frequent culprit for players who see relics burn with nothing in return. If you added drop-rate or merchant mods while farming schematics, pull them out completely rather than trying to disable a single file. After that, confirm power and check your chests, and the recycler should return to producing an item for every relic you feed it.
