Palworld 1.0: The 3 Best Ways to Farm Coralum Ore

Salvage ocean wreckage, breed Whalaska, or build the Ancient Material Synthesizer to keep your Coralum Ingot supply running.

Salvage ocean wreckage, breed Whalaska, or build the Ancient Material Synthesizer to keep your Coralum Ingot supply running.

Coralum Ore feeds most of the late-game crafting in Palworld 1.0, since it refines into Coralum Ingot for advanced weapons, ammo, and production benches. The catch is that you cannot mine it. There are no Coralum nodes in the open world and no quarry in the technology tree, so every unit comes from the ocean, from certain Pals, or from a single endgame machine.

Quick answer: Salvage gold-rimmed ocean wreckage with a fishing rod and Powerful Fishing Magnet while riding a water Pal, breed Whalaska or Whalaska Ignis and run the offspring through a Pal Disassembly Conveyor, or build the Ancient Material Synthesizer at level 78 to produce Coralum Ore on demand.

Which method to use and when

Each route fits a different stage of the game. Salvage is available first and needs the least investment, breeding turns your base into a steady producer, and the synthesizer removes gathering entirely once you reach the endgame.

1. Salvage ocean wreckage near Feybreak Island

Floating wreckage spawns across the late-game seas, and pulling it up is the most accessible way to collect Coralum Ore. Gold-rimmed Rank 2 wrecks are the ones worth chasing, since their loot table guarantees 6–11 ore per collect. Rank 1 debris only has about a 30% chance to give 1–2 ore, so skip it once you can tell them apart by the golden ring on the barrel.

You need a fishing rod, Powerful Fishing Magnets, and a surface-swimming water Pal to reach the debris. The Powerful Fishing Magnet unlocks at technology level 62 for 3 Technology Points, and one crafting job produces ten magnets. Keep a high-rank Jellroy in your party too, because its partner skill boosts the number of items you pull from each salvage.

Mount a swimming water Pal with its saddle crafted, and equip your fishing rod. Good options include Surfent, Azurobe, and Jormuntide.
Head to the coastline around Feybreak Island or the northern waters near the Whalaska Alpha spawn, where salvage points are densest.
Swim onto a gold-rimmed wreck and hold interact to cast into it. Stop the timing indicator inside the green zone to land a SUCCESS.
Collect the Coralum Ore and circle to the next wreck. If the prompt refuses to trigger while mounted, return to shore, resummon your Pal, and swim back out to reset the interaction.

Note: A missed timing does not consume anything, so you can retry the same wreck until you hit the green section. For the highest volume, run a loop with Neptilius supported by four 4-star Jellroy along the Feybreak coast.

2. Breed Whalaska or Whalaska Ignis at your base

Whalaska and its fiery variant Whalaska Ignis each drop 2–3 Coralum Ore at a 100% rate, so no kill is wasted. Instead of sailing out for them repeatedly, capture a breeding pair and turn the offspring into a passive Coralum supply that runs from home.

Regular Whalaska spawn around the Isle of the Glacial Core near coordinates 139, 640 at roughly levels 50–60. You can also catch one by fishing at Advanced or Master spots during the day, such as the shores near Feybreak Tower with an Advanced Fishing Rod equipped.

The breeding line needs three structures, plus a steady supply of Cake to keep breeding active.

StructureTechnology level
Breeding Farm19
Egg Incubators10, 36, 48, 58
Pal Disassembly Conveyor56
Capture one male and one female Whalaska (or Whalaska Ignis) and assign both to a Breeding Farm with Cake stocked.
Collect the eggs and hatch them in batches using your incubators.
Move the hatched Whalaska into the Palbox, then process them through the Pal Disassembly Conveyor to pull Coralum Ore alongside Aquatic Pal Fluids and Ice Organs.

Tip: Keep a Grintale in your party during breeding for a chance at an extra egg per pairing, which raises your ore throughput over time. Roughly 20 Pals processed yields about 40–60 Coralum Ore.

3. Build the Ancient Material Synthesizer for on-demand ore

The Ancient Material Synthesizer is the fastest source once you reach it, because it manufactures Coralum Ore directly with no fishing, breeding, or travel. It unlocks at technology level 78 under Ancient Technology and costs 50 Paloxite Ingot and 10 Ancient Civilization Core, all late-game materials, so plan the build for when you are already deep into the endgame.

Once placed, the station runs a single recipe at a time and produces that material continuously while a Pal is assigned. Its recipe list covers the full spread of wood and ore, and it stacks output up to 9,999.

Reach level 78 and build the Ancient Material Synthesizer at your base like any production structure.
Interact with it and open the Recipe List, then select Coralum Ore from the ore options.
Assign one mining Pal, using your highest Mining suitability Pal for the best speed, then collect the stacked ore whenever you need it.

Only one Pal can work the station, and it picks up any new order the moment you swap the recipe. That makes it a one-time investment that turns the hardest Coralum grind into a hands-off production line.

Refine Coralum Ore into Coralum Ingot

Raw Coralum Ore has little direct use beyond early fishing rods, so its value comes from Coralum Ingot. The recipe unlocks in the technology menu around level 61–62, and refining requires a Gigantic Furnace or Ancient Furnace because standard furnaces cannot reach the needed temperature. Each ingot costs 2 Coralum Ore and 5 Coal, so build a Coal supply in advance.

Coralum Ingot gatekeeps the strongest endgame gear, including the Energy Shotgun, Overheat Rifle, Charge Rifle, and Megaboost Gun, plus their ammo, the Ultra Grappling Gun, Triple Air Dash Boots, and the Advanced Civilization Workshop and Weapon Assembly Line. Legendary weapon variants can demand well over a thousand ingots each, so pick the farming route that matches your progress and keep it running. You will know a method is working when the Coralum Ore count climbs in your inventory or the station’s output stack, ready to feed the furnace.
