The Fastest Way to Farm Ancient Civilization Core Palworld 1.0

Every guaranteed source for the legendary Core, plus which method delivers the most per run.

Every guaranteed source for the legendary Core, plus which method delivers the most per run.

The Ancient Civilization Core is a legendary crafting material in Palworld 1.0, and you will not find it lying around the Palpagos Islands. It only comes from a short list of high-level activities, and picking the right one decides how quickly you can build the game’s strongest shields, weapon modules, and incubators.

Quick answer: Defeating Summoning Altar raid bosses gives a guaranteed 100% Core drop every clear, making it the most reliable method. For the highest volume per run, raid the Level 55 or Level 60 Syndicate Oil Rig and loot the yellow-glowing Greater Chest, which drops up to 5 Cores at a 90–93% rate.

Every source for Ancient Civilization Core

Three activities produce the Core: raid bosses summoned at a Summoning Altar, Greater Chests inside the Oil Rig, and completed Pal Expeditions. Raid bosses and expeditions are guaranteed drops, while the Oil Rig chests sit just under 100%. The quantity you receive scales with the difficulty of the boss, the tier of the expedition, or the level of the rig.

Raid bosses: the guaranteed method

Summoning Altar raids are the surest way to bank Cores because every kill drops at least one. You summon a boss by combining slab fragments, then fight entities like Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, and Xenolord. Tougher and Ultra-tier bosses hand out more Cores per clear, so higher difficulty means a bigger stack.

Explore high-level dungeons in the desert, volcanic regions, or the Sakurajima DLC to collect the slab fragments needed to summon a boss.
Combine the fragments into a slab and use it at a Summoning Altar to spawn the raid boss.
Defeat the boss with a strong combat Pal team. Cores drop automatically on the kill, with the count set by the boss’s difficulty tier.

Tip: Bellanoir slabs are fragment-gated, so a Bellanoir loop requires several dungeon clears per attempt. Higher-tier slabs from Libero and Ultra raids let you chain fights in a single session for a faster stream of Cores.

Oil Rig raids: the highest volume per run

If you want the most Cores in one sitting, head into the ocean and infiltrate a Syndicate Oil Rig. The Level 55 and Level 60 rigs each hide a Greater Chest that glows bright yellow, and looting it can yield up to 5 Cores at once. The trade-off is risk, since the rigs are defended and the chest drop is not fully guaranteed.

Travel out to sea and reach the Level 55 or Level 60 Oil Rig. Higher-level rigs carry the better payouts.
Clear the rig’s defenses and locate the electronic Greater Chest, identified by its bright yellow light.
Open the chest to collect the Cores. On the Level 55 rig, chests and turrets respawn about 30 minutes of real time after you loot the Greater Chest, so you can run it again.

Note: A Galeclaw makes the approach far safer. Gliding onto the deck from the helipad lets you slip past most turret fire, since the guns target standing silhouettes rather than gliders.

Pal Expeditions: the passive route

For a low-effort option, build a Pal Expedition Station at your base and send idle Pals out on Core-yielding trips. Expeditions return on a real-time timer, so you can farm passively while doing other things. All the Core expeditions are guaranteed drops, with the amount rising on harder maps.

You unlock the strongest expedition maps by clearing late-game Tower Bosses such as Victor & Shadowbeak or Saya & Selyne. That opens routes like the Astral Frost Cavern and the Dark Cave of Feybreak. Snow expeditions return a single Core, Sakurajima yields one to two, and the Feybreak options return two to three.

What Ancient Civilization Core is used for

Cores gate the top tier of Palworld’s crafting. They are consumed at workbenches to build the strongest defensive gear, precision weapon upgrades, and high-capacity base equipment. Planning around 30 or more Cores is realistic if you want a full endgame loadout.

ItemCores requiredUnlock level
Ability Glasses534
Electric Egg Incubator536
Sniper Module II547
Ultra Shield3055
Homing Module1057
Advanced Shield3060
Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator2060

The Ultra Shield offers the highest personal damage absorption in the game, while the Sniper Module II and Homing Module raise your firearm accuracy and tracking. The Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator is the key breeding upgrade, since it hatches large batches of eggs at once instead of forcing you to run a cluttered row of single incubators.

Which method to choose

Pick raid bosses when you want a certain payout with no wasted runs, since every clear guarantees at least one Core. Choose the Oil Rig when you can handle the combat and want the largest haul per trip. Lean on expeditions when you would rather stack Cores in the background over time. Combining all three keeps your Core supply steady enough to craft the full late-game kit without grinding a single activity into the ground.
