Palworld: How to Build the Worrywart Farmer for Hard Mode Tower Bosses

Turn a captured human NPC into an endgame damage dealer that clears Hard Mode towers with poison and burn stacking.

Turn a captured human NPC into an endgame damage dealer that clears Hard Mode towers with poison and burn stacking.

A captured human NPC can be pushed to Level 80 and turned into one of the strongest attackers on your roster in Palworld. The Worrywart Farmer is the clearest example. With maxed stats, borrowed passive skills, and a support party built around status damage, it clears multiple Hard Mode tower bosses despite having no elemental typing of its own.

Quick answer: Max the Worrywart Farmer’s stats with elixirs, fruits, Pal Souls, and Training Manuals, transfer passives like Immortality and Demon God through the Pal Operating Table, equip the player with status-inflicting bows and element Batons, then run a party of Pals whose Partner Skills boost damage against poisoned or burning targets.

Why a captured human NPC works in combat

Human NPCs behave differently from Pals in two important ways. They do not have Partner Skills of their own, and they gain no elemental damage bonus, so type matchups against a boss do not raise their output. They also cannot be bred, which rules out passive stacking through inheritance.

What they do have is access to your player accessories and a wide pool of active skills. Batons and Emblems worn by the player boost the NPC’s attack while it is active, and support Pals in your party still apply their buffs to it. That combination is what makes a fully built farmer viable against endgame targets.

The finished Worrywart Farmer build

These are the stats and loadout the farmer reaches at maximum investment. The attack figure changes depending on whether the Divine Dragon’s Baton is equipped.

StatValue
Level80
HP12,725
Attack4,574 (4,252 without Baton)
Defense1,676
Work Speed98

The passive skills are transferred onto the farmer through the Pal Operating Table. The set combines raw damage with survivability, so it can stand close to a boss without being knocked out.

CategoryLoadout
Passive skillsGod of Destruction, Demon God, Serenity, Immortality, Burly Body
Active skillsComet Strike, Blast Cannon, Beam Slicer, Flame Wall, Flame Funnel, Fire Ball, Punch, Volcanic Rain
AccessoriesDivine Dragon’s Baton, Elphidran Ring, Jetragon’s Talisman, Dogen Emblem, Flame Emperor’s Baton
WeaponThree Shot Bow (Poison Arrow, Fire Arrow)
FoodMammorest Curry

The player-side accessories matter as much as the NPC’s own stats. Batons raise the matching element’s power, and status-inflicting arrows set up the buffs that the party then multiplies.

How to build the farmer step by step

Capture a human NPC such as the Worrywart Farmer. This becomes the base you will upgrade.

Raise its base stats with stat-boosting elixirs and fruits like Power Fruit and Kiship Peach. This lifts HP, attack, and defense before you layer on anything else.
Use the Pal Operating Table to transfer strong passive skills onto the NPC. Immortality and Demon God are the priority for a mix of survivability and damage.

Enhance its stats further with Pal Souls at a Statue of Power. This is a second stat layer on top of the elixirs.
Level the NPC to the cap using Training Manuals, including Training Manual XL, until it reaches Level 80.

Equip the player with element-boosting accessories such as the Batons and a status-inflicting weapon like the Three Shot Bow loaded with Poison and Fire Arrows.
Fill your party with Pals whose Partner Skills increase damage against status-afflicted enemies. Jormuntide Ignis B raises burn damage, while Prister and Bikini support poison.

Support party and which buffs apply

Not every buffing Pal works on a human NPC. Orserk and Celeste Noct do not pass their buffs to the farmer, so they are wasted slots. Aggregate buffers do apply, which is why the party leans on burn and poison amplifiers instead.

Party PalPartner Skill
Blazamut RyuDragon Kaiser
BikiniGrining Death
Jormuntide Ignis BStormbringer Lava Dragon
PristerPhantom Venom
Finsider IgnisEmber Chamber

The plan is simple. Your arrows inflict poison or burn, and every Pal in the party that reacts to those states multiplies the farmer’s damage on each hit. Because the farmer has no element bonus, this status stacking is where its real damage comes from.

Skill builds for each Hard Mode boss

Swap the farmer’s active skills to match the boss. A Dragon-focused set handles the early targets, while a Fire set with Volcanic Rain carries the later fights. Each Hard Mode tower boss also drops high-tier schematics, such as the Drone Launcher Schematic 4 from Lily and Lyleen.

Hard Mode bossBuild to use
Victor & ShadowbeakDragon-element skill build
Saya & SelyneDragon build (watch for skills that miss the hitbox)
Lily & LyleenFire build, then Punch and Volcanic Rain combo
Bjorn & BastigorVolcanic Rain and Punch setup

Punch is more than filler damage. Using it keeps the farmer pressed against the boss, which lands more ticks of a localized skill like Volcanic Rain that only hits within a fixed area. Against Saya and Selyne, note that some skills fail to register on the boss hitbox, so lean on the moves that connect reliably.

How to confirm the build is working

You will see the farmer’s attack value change when you equip or remove a Baton, which confirms player accessories are feeding into the NPC. In a fight, damage numbers rise sharply once poison or burn is applied and the matching party Pal is active, which confirms the status buffs are stacking as intended.

If damage stays flat, the usual causes are a support Pal that does not buff human NPCs, like Orserk or Celeste Noct, a skill missing the boss hitbox, or the target never being put into a poisoned or burning state for the party to exploit. Fix those and the farmer holds up as a serious endgame attacker, one that is also more entertaining to run than a standard Pal team.
