Palworld: How to Get Honey (Locations and Ranch Farming)

Every Pal that drops Honey, where to hunt them, and how to set up a hands-free Ranch supply.

Honey is the resource that keeps your Breeding Farm running in Palworld. Every Cake needs two jars of it, and without Cake, a male and female Pal placed together will never produce an Egg. Honey also works as plain food, so it doubles as a snack for you or your team when it sits in a Feed Bag.

Quick answer: Catch a Beegarde and assign it to a Ranch (unlocked at Tech Level 5) for automatic Honey each in-game day, or defeat and capture Cinnamoth, Beegarde, Elizabee, or Warsect to collect Honey drops directly.

Which Pals drop Honey

Honey is not sold by Wandering Merchants, so it comes from a small group of bug-type Pals. Defeating, capturing, or butchering any of them produces Honey. A captured Pal drops a jar right away, and butchering it back at base yields another.

PalDifficultyNotes
CinnamothEasyBest early option; flees rather than fights
BeegardeModerateOnly Pal with Worker Bee for Ranch farming; explodes at low HP
ElizabeeHard (Alpha)Stronger, usually escorted by Beegardes
WarsectVery hardLate-game fight around Level 30+
Warsect TerraToughest (Level 59)Feybreak field Alpha; only worth it for a challenge

If you are early in the game, stick to Cinnamoth. They travel in flocks, take little effort to bring down, and do not blow up in your face as Beegarde does.

Where to find Honey Pals on the map

LocationCoordinatesPals
Cinnamoth Forest-69, -272Cinnamoth (low-level flocks)
Verdant Brook246, -166Beegarde bands circling Elizabee
Mossanda Forest234, -118Beegarde and Elizabee in denser trees
Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2680, -113Wild Warsect (repeatable drops)

Beegarde and Elizabee cluster around the Frostbound Mountains and the northeastern grassy island. Warsect also appears as an Alpha Boss inside the Sealed Realm of the Stalwart, but that fight can only be done once without reloading. For repeat farming, hunt the wild Warsect at Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2 instead.

Set up a passive Honey Ranch

The steadiest supply comes from a Ranch. Only Beegarde has the Worker Bee skill, so it is the only Pal that produces Honey there. The others cannot do the job.

Reach Tech Level 5 and unlock the Ranch. It costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone, and 30 Fiber to build.
Capture at least one Beegarde and assign it to the Ranch at your base.
Collect the Honey it drops each in-game day. Place a Wooden Chest or Feed Box next to the Ranch so the jars gather in one spot instead of scattering on the ground.
Add more Beegardes to raise output. Ranch production is slow, so keeping several bees fed and rested at one base is the fastest way to build a stockpile.

You know the setup is working when new Honey appears in the attached chest or on the ground near the Ranch after a full in-game day passes.

How to catch Beegarde without dying

Beegarde is a Grass-type that uses a self-destruct move called Bee Quiet. When its HP drops low, it starts blinking and circling before it implodes, killing itself and dealing heavy damage to anything nearby. A few habits keep the catch clean.

  • Bring Fire-type Pals such as Foxparks, Ragnahawk, or Jormuntide Ignis to exploit its Grass weakness.
  • Use ranged attacks so you are clear of the blast if it triggers.
  • Throw your sphere before the countdown finishes; dodge the moment it starts blinking.
  • Higher-grade spheres like Giga Spheres improve your odds against tougher bees.

The same Fire-type approach clears swarms fast if you only want drops. An area attack like a flamethrower can knock out a whole cluster of Cinnamoth, Beegarde, or Elizabee in one sweep.

What Honey is used for

The main reason to farm Honey is Cake, the item that powers breeding. Once you unlock the Breeding Farm at level 19, you place a male and female Pal together, drop a Cake into the connected chest, and wait for an Egg.

Cooking Cake needs a Cooking Pot, unlocked at Tech Level 17, plus a Pal with the Kindling skill to heat it. The full recipe is below.

Honey also goes into a few crafted items beyond food. It appears in the Stamina Remedy, Beegarde’s Spear (1 Honey, 1 Wood), and Elizabee’s Staff (1 Honey, 1 Wood), and it can be eaten directly to restore hunger.

Start with Cinnamoth for safe early jars, move to Beegarde once you can handle the explosions, and let a Ranch full of bees keep the supply topped up while you focus on breeding.
