The Rocketpack is one of the surprise items added in PEAK: The Final Ascent, and it gives you a short, explosive burst of flight to reach heights you could never climb on foot. It works nothing like the Jetpack. Instead of steady, fueled lift, it strapping a lit rocket to your back for a few seconds before it blows off. Handled right, it saves stamina and gets you up vertical walls. Handled wrong, it ends your run.
Quick answer: Equip the Rocketpack, have someone light its fuse (or drop it, light the fuse yourself, then pick it back up), fly for about 4 seconds using inverted controls, then swap to your Glider the moment it detaches and explodes so you can float down safely.
Where to find the Rocketpack in PEAK
The Rocketpack spawns inside Luggage that you find lying on the ground during a climb. It does not appear in Ancient Luggage, so ignore those and open regular cases instead. Every drop is a matter of luck, so open every suitcase you pass and check what comes out.

The Rocketpack is not a normal inventory item. It takes over your backpack slot, so you can carry either the Rocketpack or a Backpack, but not both at once. Decide before you equip it whether you are willing to give up your storage for the flight.

Add to Google Preferences →How to light and launch the Rocketpack
The Rocketpack only fires once its fuse is lit while it sits on your back. In a group, a teammate does the lighting for you. Solo players have a workaround that gets the same result.

Once the fuse burns down, the rocket ignites and you launch upward. The pack does not drain any stamina, which is exactly why it is so useful when you are exhausted.
Steering during flight with inverted controls
The Rocketpack gives you roughly 4 seconds of flight, which is a lot of vertical distance if you launch from a high point. Treat those seconds like gliding, because the controls are flipped from what you expect.
| Key | Result |
|---|---|
| S | Rise higher |
| W | Drop lower |
| A / D | Move left and right |

Use the full WASD set to steer freely and aim for the ledge or vertical area you cannot otherwise climb. This is the best moment to reach an inaccessible perch when your stamina is too low to make the final push by hand.

Landing safely with the Glider
After about 4 seconds the Rocketpack detaches from your back and explodes. From that point you are in free fall, and without a plan the drop can kill you and end the run. The Glider is what turns a dangerous launch into a controlled ascent.
The moment the pack breaks away, equip your Glider and float gently to the ground. You can also glide sideways to cross a gap instead of just dropping straight down.

Tip: The Rocketpack itself costs no stamina, but the Glider does. Keep enough stamina in reserve before you launch so you can actually deploy the Glider and land in one piece.
Used with a Glider in hand and a little stamina banked, the Rocketpack becomes a reliable shortcut past the vertical stretches that would normally drain you. Skip it, and its explosive finish will do the work of every hazard on the mountain for you.
