Pets vs Coins reworks how Pet Simulator 99 plays. Instead of breaking objects across worlds, you defend a garden from waves of angry coins by planting pets in lanes, then push toward Coin Bosses that drop the event’s rarest pets. The whole loop runs on one currency, Sunflower Coins, and the biggest prizes go to whoever clears the most bosses before the timer runs out.
Quick answer: Place pets in your garden lanes to destroy coin piles, spend Sunflower Coins to unlock more lanes and plant plots, and defeat Coin Bosses to climb the leaderboard. The top reward, the Rainbow Shiny Titanic Carrot Crocodile, goes to the top three players by boss-kill count, and rewards are handed out six days after the event goes live.
How to join Pets vs Coins
Getting in works the same way as other Pet Simulator 99 events. Open the overworld menu and press the event button on the left side of the screen, and you’ll be sent to the garden area where everything takes place. From there you’ll see your lanes, your empty plant plots, the central island with the egg and Upgrade Machine, and the Rebirth Shrine on the adjacent island.

Farming Sunflower Coins
Sunflower Coins are the main currency, and there are two ways to earn them. The active method is placing pets in your lanes, where they automatically attack the coin piles that spawn. When a pile is destroyed, you collect coins based on how large it was, so bigger piles pay more. The passive method is growing plants in the plots opposite your garden, which generate income on their own, even while you’re offline.
Spend those coins to widen your operation rather than hoarding them. The two most important purchases are new pet lanes, which let you field more pets and clear larger piles, and extra plant plots, which raise your passive income. You start with a single lane and can unlock all seven, and every lane holds up to nine pets, so you can stack them deep once the space is open.
Getting and upgrading pets
New pets come from the Garden Egg on the central island. There are eight eggs in total, and you improve your odds of hatching stronger pets by upgrading the egg tier through the “Better Eggs” section of the Upgrade Machine, which sits just to the left of the eggs. The final egg tier holds the Garden Golem, the strongest of the twelve new garden pets, so pushing egg upgrades directly translates into faster lane clears.
Placed pets get stronger two ways. You can click a pet in a lane and spend coins to raise its stats up to ten times, but note that each upgrade costs more than the last, and picking the pet back up wipes that progress. Pets also level up permanently by earning XP from attacking coin piles, and those levels stay no matter what. The Upgrade Machine adds another layer on top, boosting damage, attack speed, coins, crops, harvests, seeds, and luck across your whole garden.
Coin Bosses and Rebirth
Once enough coins pour into your garden, a Coin Boss crashes in. Each boss is bigger and richer than the one before, and defeating them is what makes you eligible for the leaderboard. Early bosses drop the Huge Watering Can Elephant, while tougher ones can drop the Titanic Lotus Otter and, at the top end, the Gargantuan Rose Wolf.
Rebirth is how you unlock the tougher bosses and their rarer pets. Reset your garden at the Rebirth Shrine and you keep every pet, seed, and upgrade permanently while gaining passive income modifiers. You can only rebirth once all seven lanes are unlocked and you’ve cleared the required number of bosses, and the game tracks that boss counter on the right side of the screen. Rebirth all the way to 6 to face the biggest boss, since the Gargantuan Rose Wolf only drops from the Coin Boss at Rebirth 6.
Tip: Stack the Better Luck upgrade and use Rain potions before fighting the final boss to improve your chance at the Gargantuan.
Plants, seeds, and passive income
Seeds drop at random when your pets destroy a coin pile. Plant one on a Farm Plot, wait for it to bloom, and it reveals a rarity and starts paying out Sunflowers every second. Seeds range from Basic to Legendary, and you can improve your chance of rarer drops through the Upgrade Machine. Because grown plants keep earning while you’re away, plots are the backbone of your offline income.
You can also buy seeds from the Farming Merchant on the main island, who restocks every few minutes. Better seeds require you to build respect with the merchant, which you earn by buying items from him, so the more you purchase, the higher the tiers you can access. Seeds and plants can also roll Mutations such as Gold, Rainbow, and Shiny. These are far rarer, but they pay out significantly more.
Gardening Potions
Defeating coins can also drop Gardening Potions that temporarily push your garden harder.

Leaderboard rewards and the top pets
The main prizes are exclusive overworld pets tied to your boss-kill count. The leaderboard tracks the top 100 players and is pinned to the large tree on the central island near the Rebirth Shrine, with the exact event timer shown alongside it. Every boss you defeat counts, across every Rebirth, so consistent farming and repeated boss clears are what move you up.

Rewards are allocated based on your standing when the event ends, which happens exactly six days after release. Only the top three earn the Rainbow Shiny Titanic Carrot Crocodile, so it’s realistically out of reach for most players, while the top 1,000 still walk away with a Titanic variant of the same pet.
Gummy Clan Battle
Running alongside the solo leaderboard is the Gummy Clan Battle, a team competition that lasts seven days. Every Coin Boss you defeat adds to your clan’s total score, so it rewards the same activity you’re already doing. The top clan wins the Gargantuan Storm Wolf, while lower placements earn Titanic and Huge Gummy pets plus cosmetic extras like the Gummy Hoverboard and Gummy Booth.
