Prism Scales are the limited-time currency tied to the Fetching Scales for Feebas event in Pokémon Pokopia. They only exist while the event is live, and you trade them to Feebas to unlock swimming-themed furniture and two new habitats that eventually house Feebas and Milotic.
Quick answer: Rebuild at least one Pokémon Center, then travel to a Dream Island by interacting with any Doll after unlocking Drifloon. Pick up the sparkly blue-and-pink scales scattered around the island, then spend them at the Pokémon Center counter with Feebas.
Event window and requirements
The Fetching Scales for Feebas event runs from August 13, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. to August 28, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. local time. Prism Scales can only be collected during that window, so plan your farming around it.
Two things must be true before Feebas will show up and start handing out scales. You need the free update installed, which you can grab from the official Pokémon Pokopia page, and you need at least one rebuilt Pokémon Center. Once both are done, Feebas appears in front of a rebuilt Pokémon Center and asks you to gather Prism Scales.
Note: If you connect to the internet and the start date has already passed, you can time travel back into the event window. You could not jump ahead to it before it began.

Prism Scales are found on Dream Islands for the full duration of the event. To reach one, place a Doll such as the Pikachu Doll and interact with it after you have unlocked Drifloon. Drifloon carries you off to a special island themed after one of the regions in the game, and that is where the scales appear.
The scales are scattered randomly across each island. They can sit on open ground, inside caves, underwater, on hilltops, and on tall cliffs, so search every corner rather than sticking to the main path. They read as flat, shell-like items in pink and blue.
Watch for a blue and pink sparkle effect. Every Prism Scale glimmers, and that shine is the easiest way to spot one against busy scenery, thick grass, or high ledges.

To grab a scale, walk up to it and press the highlighted Y-button pickup prompt. Each successful pickup adds one Prism Scale to your total, and a short item notification confirms it landed in your inventory.

Best Dream Island for farming Prism Scales
Prism Scales drop on every Dream Island, but they turn up more often on the Starmie Doll Dream Island. Scales here tend to appear on beaches and sandy stretches, which makes them quicker to sweep up.
The Starmie Doll is tied to Bubbly Basin, so reaching its Dream Island requires the expansion pass. The pass is not needed to take part in the event itself, but it speeds up collection. Keep in mind the event does not run inside Bubbly Basin or on Cloud Islands, so Feebas and the exchange still live in the main regions.
How to spend Prism Scales
Take your scales back to any rebuilt Pokémon Center and exchange them at the counter with Feebas. There are six event items, each with its own price, so you will need a healthy stockpile to claim everything.

| Item | Prism Scales cost | Used in a habitat? |
|---|---|---|
| Beach Volleyball Set | 15 | Yes |
| Sand Bed | 10 | Yes |
| Swim Ring | 5 | Yes |
| Big Swim Ring | 10 | Yes |
| Floating Lantern | 10 | No |
| Cooler | 10 | Yes |
Unlocking the Feebas and Milotic habitats
The event includes two habitats. Building both attracts Feebas and its evolution, Milotic, so they have a fitting home once you move them in.
| Habitat | Required items | Pokémon attracted |
|---|---|---|
| Exciting Beach | Big Swim Ring x1, Sand Bed x1 | Feebas |
| Marine Leisure Activities | Beach Volleyball Set x1, Cooler x1, Swim Ring x1 | Milotic |
Exciting Beach costs 20 Prism Scales in items, and Marine Leisure Activities costs 30, so unlocking both means collecting 50 Prism Scales total. You could gather only enough for Milotic’s habitat, but building Exciting Beach as well gives Feebas a suitable home to keep after the event ends.
Since the event closes on August 28, spend your scales before then. Any Prism Scales you leave unspent have no use once the exchange with Feebas disappears, so aim to clear at least the 50 needed for both habitats while the counter is still open.
