Scratcher Tickets in Probably Stolen are lottery cards you scratch and cash in from your inventory. Payouts range from pocket change to a jackpot that also unlocks an achievement.

Quick answer: Double-click a Scratcher Ticket, hold the left mouse button and rub inside the three panels, then double-click a winning ticket to redeem it. Any two matching symbols pay 10 credits, and three Nutrifruit pay the 350-credit jackpot.

The ticket is a [Lottery] [Document] item with an Est. Value and Base Value of 20. Its tooltip reads “Scratch off at least 2 matching symbols to win a prize!” and ends with “Double-Click To Open”. The tooltip also notes that scratchers are a popular form of gambling in the Lower Levels and banned in the Upper Levels.

How to scratch a Scratcher Ticket

Double-click the Scratcher Ticket in your inventory to bring up a card headed “NUTRI MILLIONAIRE – SCRATCH 2 WIN”, featuring three silver panels.

Hold down the left mouse button with your cursor inside a panel. Starting the press beyond the panels moves the card window instead of scratching it.
Rub across all three panels until the silver is gone. Slow strokes clear the coating most cleanly.
Check the three symbols. A card showing a Nutrifruit and two cans counts as two matching symbols, which is a winning ticket.

The HOW 2 WIN side of the card shows four results. Nutrifruit matches pay more than matches of any other symbol.

The 350-credit Nutrifruit 3 match is the jackpot. Hitting it unlocks the Jackpot achievement (see all achievements), described as “Win the jackpot on a scratcher ticket.”

How to redeem a winning Scratcher Ticket

Scratching doesn’t pay you on its own. A winning ticket goes back into your inventory with a new tooltip. The [Lottery] tag disappears, the Est. Value and Base Value change to match the prize, and the last line now reads “Double-Click To Redeem It”. A 10-credit winner, for example, becomes a [Document] valued at 10.

The Scratcher Ticket tooltip lists the ticket as a Document worth 10 credits, says it is banned in the Upper Levels, and prompts Double-Click To Redeem It.

Double-click that ticket to cash it in. The game confirms with “Redeemed for 10 Credits!” (or the matching amount for your prize), and the credits are added to your balance.

Where to get Scratcher Tickets

  • Barter offers: A Poor Scav with a “Barter for: Food” offer can include 2 Scratcher Ticket as one of the trades.
  • Walk-in Scavengers: Scavengers selling general goods can carry them.
  • Dumping Grounds: Scavenging there turns one up about 2% of the time per pull.
  • Stack of Scratcher Tickets (5): A base value 100 item holding five tickets.

In a barter, you hand over the requested goods (one Cat Chocolate Bar works for a food barter) and use the arrows to cycle through the choices, shown as “Choose offer: 1/3”. One such offer let you pick between 2 Blood Bag, 3 Scrap Metal, or 2 Scratcher Ticket. Barter offers are fixed. The Mentor’s Note explains that they “cannot be negotiated unlike regular buy and sell offers” and are not affected by ongoing events.

The Stack of Scratcher Tickets (5) warns “Make sure to have enough space before unpacking it.” so clear some inventory room before you open it.

Scratch or hold: Scratcher Ticket value

An unscratched Scratcher Ticket carries a value of 20. Once you scratch it, the ticket is worth whatever it won. A 10-credit result leaves you holding a ticket valued at 10, half of what it was worth sealed. You can scratch a ticket for a shot at the bigger Nutrifruit payouts, or keep it unscratched at its full 20 value.
