Damage in Project Slayers 2 comes from three stacked layers: the accessory class you wear, the mythic weapon you craft, and the clan passive sitting underneath both. Get all three pointing the same direction and the difference is obvious on every boss health bar.
Quick answer: Run Duelist accessories until endgame, switch to Technician pieces, craft the Nightfall Katana at Blacksmith Togane, and pair it with Rengoku unless you play Water, Serpent, or Insect.
Accessory loadout: Duelist early, Technician at endgame
Accessories are sorted into classes, and the class tells you which kind of damage stat you are buying. Duelist pieces hand you flat Additional Damage, which is a large share of your total hit while your base numbers are still small. Technician pieces instead raise your Additional Damage Factor, a multiplier that only pays off once the rest of your build is already producing big numbers.
| Accessory | Class | Damage stat | Other stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Oni Mask | Duelist | +2 Additional Damage | +55 HP, +45 Stamina |
| Nichirin Lantern | Duelist | +2 Additional Damage | +55 HP, +45 Stamina, +0.65 Illumination |
| Flame Haori Style 2 | Duelist | +1 Additional Damage, 1.01x Factor | +100 HP, +80 Stamina |
| Flame Haori Style 1 | Technician | 1.07x Additional Damage Factor | +100 HP, +80 Stamina, 1.1x Stamina Regen |
The cleanest early-to-mid setup is Red Oni Mask, Nichirin Lantern, and Flame Haori Style 2. That is a full Duelist spread with four points of flat damage and a small multiplier on top, plus enough health and stamina to survive the fights you are farming.

Once your weapon, mastery, and skill tree are all contributing, swap Flame Haori Style 2 for Flame Haori Style 1. Trading a single point of flat damage for a 1.07x multiplier is a loss on paper at low levels and a clear gain once the number it multiplies is large.
Nezuko drops a bamboo muzzle that also belongs to the Duelist set, but the drop rate is only 3%, so plan on several attempts.

Every mythic weapon falls into either the Nightfall or the Firstlight family, and that split decides the passive. Nightfall weapons apply bleed at Tier 3, which is pure extra damage. Firstlight weapons give block regeneration instead, so they are defensive unless the style forces your hand.
| Weapon | Class | Additional Damage | Damage Factor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nightfall Katana | Duelist | +5.75 | 1.14x |
| Nightfall Serpent Katana | Technician | +4 | 1.2x |
| Nightfall Scythe | — | +5.75 | 1.15x |
| Nightfall Claws | — | +5.75 | 1.15x |
| Nightfall Axe and Mace | Tank | +5.75 | 1.14x |
| Firstlight Tanto | — | +5.75 | 1.15x |
| Firstlight Spear | — | +5.75 | 1.15x |
| Firstlight Sound Cleavers | Sentinel | +4 | 1.15x |
| Firstlight Insect Katana | Phantom | +4 | 1.1x |

Block values track roughly the opposite way. The Firstlight Tanto carries the highest block numbers of the group at +8.3 Block Points and 2.36x Block Regen, while the Nightfall Katana sits at +6.2 and 2.06x. The Nightfall Axe and Mace is the only mythic with a defensive stat baked in, at +2.3 Damage Reduction.
Best weapon for each breathing style
| Breathing style | Weapon | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Flame | Nightfall Katana | Highest raw damage, Tier 3 bleed |
| Thunder | Nightfall Katana | Highest raw damage, Tier 3 bleed |
| Water | Nightfall Katana | Highest raw damage, Tier 3 bleed |
| Wind | Nightfall Katana | Highest raw damage, Tier 3 bleed |
| Serpent | Nightfall Katana or Serpent variant | Serpent version scales harder late |
| Insect | Firstlight Insect Katana | Style-locked katana |
| Sound | Firstlight Sound Cleavers | Required weapon type |
| Stone | Nightfall Axe and Mace | Same scaling plus damage reduction |
Flame, Thunder, Water, and Wind
These four have no weapon restrictions, so they all default to the Nightfall Katana. It has the joint-highest flat damage in the mythic pool, a competitive multiplier, and the bleed passive that Firstlight weapons simply do not offer. There is no situation where a sword-using style with free choice wants a Firstlight blade for damage.

Serpent
Serpent has a choice. The standard Nightfall Katana wins on flat damage, but the Nightfall Serpent Katana carries a 1.2x Additional Damage Factor, the highest multiplier on any mythic weapon. Use the standard katana while you are still building up, and move to the Serpent version once your flat damage from accessories, mastery, and skill nodes is high enough for the multiplier to overtake it.

Insect
Insect is tied to its own katana line, so the Firstlight Insect Katana is the endgame pick. It trades raw damage for movement and stamina, at 1.12x Movement Speed Factor and 1.1x Stamina Regen Speed. Before that, the Butterfly Katana fills the slot with +3.88 Additional Damage and a much larger block pool at +22.95 Block Points.

Sound and Stone
Sound has to use the Firstlight Sound Cleavers, and there is no Nightfall equivalent to trade up to. The upside is the best block regeneration in the mythic pool at 2.7x. Stone takes the Nightfall Axe and Mace, which matches the Nightfall Katana’s scaling exactly while adding damage reduction, making it the single best weapon-style pairing in the game right now.
The Volcanic Katana is the mid-game bridge for every sword style. At +5.6 Additional Damage and a huge +44.05 Block Points, it is close enough to a mythic that you can comfortably farm your schematic while holding it.
How to get the Nightfall Katana Schematic
Crafting happens at Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village, who holds the recipes for the Firstlight Katana, the Nightfall Katana, and the Firstlight Insect Katana. The recipe alone is not enough, though. The Nightfall Katana needs its schematic, and that is a chest pickup rather than a drop.

Weapon mastery and Additional Damage skill nodes
A crafted mythic is not finished the moment you equip it. Weapon mastery meaningfully increases how your damage scales, and the fastest way to raise it is repeated boss farming with that specific weapon in hand. Levelling mastery on a weapon you plan to replace is wasted effort, so commit to your style’s endgame pick before you grind.
The Skill Tree is the other half. Prioritise every +0.8 Additional Damage node and max them out before spending points elsewhere. Those nodes feed the same flat damage pool your Duelist accessories fill, which is exactly what the Technician multiplier and your weapon’s Damage Factor scale up later.
Best clan for each breathing style
| Breathing style | Best clan | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Flame | Rengoku | Yama |
| Wind | Rengoku | Yama |
| Sound | Rengoku | Yama |
| Thunder | Rengoku | Yama |
| Stone | Rengoku | Yama |
| Water | Tomioka | Urokodaki |
| Serpent | Iguro | Rengoku |
| Insect | Kocho | Rengoku |
Rengoku is the default answer for most builds because its percent damage scaling is simply higher than what the other general clans offer. Unless your style has a dedicated clan built around it, this is the pick that produces the biggest numbers with no conditions attached.
Yama is the closest runner-up among Slayer clans. It comes with strong damage scaling of its own plus a counter and Indomitable Will, which makes it the better option if you want defensive tools bundled with your offence.
Tomioka and Urokodaki are both able to beat Rengoku specifically on Water. Urokodaki gives a +15% Water Damage Factor and a -10% Water Stamina Cost Factor. Tomioka’s Flowing Motion refreshes two random skill cooldowns and boosts the next Water skill used within five seconds after blocking.
Iguro is the Serpent pick, and Kocho is the Insect pick. Kocho’s Insect Affinity poisons anything your Insect skills connect with, and Aerial Mastery improves airborne sword attacks, which is a direct fit for how the style already wants to fight.
Skip Uzui and Kamado if damage is your goal. Uzui has the lowest scaling of any Supreme clan, and Kamado is not far behind, so neither belongs in a build aimed at maximum output.
Put together, the path is the same regardless of which style you picked at level 25: stack Duelist accessories while you level, bridge with the Volcanic Katana, pull your schematic from the Mistfall Harbor cave, grind mastery on the weapon you actually intend to keep, and only then swap in Technician gear to let the multipliers take over.
