Thunder Breathing is one of the eight Breathing styles taught by a trainer in Slayers 2, and it is easily among the most annoying to reach. The trainer, Zentaro, does not stand on a road or inside a village. He sits on a flat plateau at the top of the Verdant Cliffs, along the mountain route near the bear village, and the only way up is the Wall Climb mechanic.
Quick answer: Hit level 25, unlock Wall Climb, then run from Bamboo Grove past the red bridge to the tall stone pillar at the Verdant Cliffs and scale it to find Thunder Trainer Zentaro.
Thunder Breathing requirements in Slayers 2
Walking up to Zentaro does nothing if you are short on any of these. Sort them out before you make the climb, because the trip back is long.
- Level 25, the milestone shared by every Breathing trainer in the game.
- Wall Climb unlocked. Without it, the route is not just harder, it is impassable.
- Demon Horns and Wen in your pockets — roughly 7 to 10 horns is the working figure for the training.
- A human character. Demons cannot learn a Breathing style.
- Stamina to spare, since the ascent is several linked climbs with no safe ledge in the middle.

Add to Google Preferences →Route to Thunder Trainer Zentaro from Bamboo Grove
The approach starts in the Bamboo Grove area and ends on top of one specific stone pillar. Running it at night makes the landmarks harder to spot, so go during the day if you can.

If the NPC is not there, check your height first. Trainers in this game sit on roofs, above cliffs and behind underwater passages, and a partially loaded area can hide them. Rejoining usually fixes it.
Thunder Breathing training tasks
Reaching the summit is not the unlock. Talking to Zentaro opens the Thunder Breathing Training quest list, and you have to clear every entry on it.
- Meditate
- Cup Training
- Push ups
- Aim Training
- Boulder Split
- Defeat the Thunder Trainee
The trainee fight is the last gate. Once it is done, the style is yours and the quest list clears out.
Thunder Breathing skill tree and moves
Open the Skill Tree menu after the training and you will see the Thunder line laid out in order. You unlock it from the top down.
| Skill tree entry | Input / role |
|---|---|
| Thunder | Base style node |
| Thunder Clap and Flash | Signature dash strike |
| Lightning Fold | X, targeting attack |
| Rice Spirit | C |
| Godspeed | V |
| Flaming Thunder God | Ultimate, cutscene move |

Zenitsu boss drops below the cliff
Drop off the plateau into the field underneath and you land in the area where the Zenitsu boss spawns. He is the source of the Thunder-themed cosmetics and weapon, and the drop rates are low enough that you should expect a grind.
| Drop | Chance |
|---|---|
| Thunder Haori | 3% |
| Thunder Katana | 5% |
| Flaming Thunder God | 5% |
How to confirm Thunder Breathing unlocked
There are two clear checkpoints. The first is the [T] Thunder Trainer Chat prompt appearing when you stand in front of Zentaro on the plateau, which confirms you are at the right NPC and meet his level requirement. If he brushes you off instead, you are either under level 25 or already carrying another Breathing style.
The second is the Skill Tree. After you beat the Thunder Trainee, open the menu and check that the Thunder line is present and unlockable — Thunder Clap and Flash is the first move most players spend points on, and landing it in combat is the fastest sanity check that the style is actually equipped.
Since a Breathing style is a one-per-character commitment at level 25, it is worth being sure Thunder is the one you want before you make the climb. The route itself does not get easier on a second trip.
