Raging Flames Arc in NTE: Unlock the Ride Assault Anomaly Commission

Trigger the Headless Rider fight and claim Hathor's best S-class arc without spending a single pull.

Trigger the Headless Rider fight and claim Hathor’s best S-class arc without spending a single pull.

Raging Flames is the S-class Plasma arc in Neverness to Everness that you can earn entirely for free by clearing the Ride Assault anomaly commission. It powers up Plasma characters like Hathor, and it carries a signature visual perk: ride a motorcycle while it’s equipped and the tires burn with blue flames. The whole reward chain comes down to triggering one roaming boss, the Headless Rider, and beating it once.

Quick answer: Reach City Tycoon Level 3, get into your own car (not a stolen one), set the time to night, then drive the road between Davidia Avenue and Fox Window Street in the Bridge Crossings area until the Headless Rider spawns. Chase it into the tunnel, defeat it, and collect the Raging Flames arc.

Requirements to trigger Ride Assault

The commission will not appear unless several conditions are met at the same time. Miss any one of them and the Headless Rider simply never shows up on the road.

RequirementDetail
ProgressionReach City Tycoon Level 3, which also grants you a car
VehicleBe inside a four-wheeler that you own; a bike or a stolen car will not work
Time of daySet the time to night using the Time System in the main menu
LocationThe road between Davidia Avenue and Fox Window Street in Bridge Crossings

You can locate Ride Assault by opening the map, selecting Anomaly Commissions in the bottom right, and finding it under the Bridge Crossings area. Use the track button there to mark the route. The marker only sets the path though, since the actual spawn depends on the night and vehicle conditions above.

How to spawn and chase the Headless Rider

Change the time to night through the Time System, then summon or drive your own car to the tracked stretch of road in Bridge Crossings. Stay on the road as you approach the marked circle.
Change the time to night through the Time System.
When you reach the spawn point, the surrounding traffic disappears and the inferno rider appears before darting toward a nearby tunnel. A cutscene and an anomaly prompt confirm the trigger worked.
Follow the rider down the road it takes. It moves fast, but you do not need to match its speed. Stay on its trail until you pass through a fiery tunnel and a portal, which transports you into the fluctuation zone where the fight begins.

Note: If nothing spawns, advance the clock until it is properly nighttime and double-check that the car is your own rather than a stolen vehicle. Those two mistakes are the most common reasons the commission fails to start.

How to defeat the Headless Rider

The Headless Rider is a five-star commission boss that fights with a scythe in wide arcs and weaves in motorcycle attacks. It is weak to Psyche, so Fadia, Aurelia, and Haniel are strong picks. Long-range fighters such as Jiuyuan work well too, and Daffodill is useful for chipping away at the break bar. Bring healing items and an ATK buff to shorten the fight.

The cleanest approach is to hold your ground rather than chase it across the arena. Let the rider come to you, dodge or parry the incoming hit, then counterattack before it retreats. Watch for fire pools it leaves on the ground, since they explode after a short delay and knock you up if you stand in them. Several attacks also land a beat after the red glow, so account for that small delay when you dodge.

AttackHow to handle it
Straight ChargeIt raises the scythe and charges. Dodge left or right, then counter.
Triple SwingThree scythe swings in a circle. Dodge through the rotation.
DonutsIt spins the motorcycle and scythe together, lifting the wheels to deal damage.
Leap StrikeCharges and swings, then leaps overhead to slam down with the bike. Two telegraphs.
Wind Up SlashHas a parry circle, so time the counter. A variation crushes you with the rear wheel.
Flaming ChargeBelow a health threshold, it charges from random directions. A blue line locks on; dodge sideways when it flickers.

Defeating and containing the rider ends the commission. Interact with the glowing item that drops to collect the rewards.

Each first-time clear of a high-risk difficulty grants 30 Annulith, 30 Peril Hunt Medals, and 3,600 Fons. Clearing the base commission additionally advances Stage 7 of the Exploration Guide, so it is worth completing even if you do not own Hathor.

Raging Flames arc stats and the blue flame bike

Raging Flames is an S-rank Plasma arc tuned for skill and ultimate damage. It is considered Hathor’s best-in-slot because her rapid skill casts and strong ultimate make full use of the passive, and the high base ATK helps on top of that. Nanally can also use it and benefits from every bonus except the Lakshana DMG line.

StatValue
ATK666
Critical Damage24%
Lakshana DMG15%
EffectAfter casting Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Redirect Skill and Ultimate DMG by 10% for 10s. Each Redirect Skill cast while active adds 5% Redirect Skill DMG, up to 2 stacks.

To get the blue flame tires, equip Raging Flames on a Plasma character, place that character in your team, and switch to them as the active fighter. Summon a motorcycle (not a scooter or a car) and ride it to see the effect. Hathor is the one character who does not swap to the main character when mounting a vehicle, so the flames show on her directly. The effect only appears on motorcycles, and only when the character with the arc is the one riding.

If you need a motorcycle, head to Camelot Avenue through the ReroRero Phone Booth and enter the shop with the car icon. The cheapest motorcycle there costs 250,000 Fons.
