Vasto Lorde is the strongest base Hollow form in VV: Ultimatum and the only route that keeps all four trait slots before you ever consider removing your mask. Getting there is not hard, but it does reward patience over random grinding. The path runs through several fixed evolution stages, each with its own requirement, and skipping ahead permanently locks you out of trait slots.

Because trait acquisition is random, expect repeated farming before your ideal combination appears. Strong options to prioritize include Iron Skin for defense and posture regen, Wings for movement and Shunpo, Deadly Claws, and High Speed Regeneration for sustain. Fill all four slots while still in Hollow form, since changing traits after mask removal becomes very difficult.
How to confirm you reached Vasto Lorde
You will see the transformation sequence play out and your form change visually. The clearest verification is the trait panel showing four active slots instead of the three you had as Adjuchas. Confirm those four slots before doing anything else, because that count is exactly what the Vasto Lorde route exists to secure.
If your slot count is stuck at 2 or 3, you evolved early by pressing L at Menos or Adjuchas. That choice cannot be undone on the same character, so the only fix is restarting the Hollow route and holding off on mask removal until Vasto Lorde.
What comes after Vasto Lorde
Removing your mask as a Vasto Lorde turns you into a Vastocar, the transitional stage that becomes a full Arrancar. From there you select an Arrancar weapon and meditate (press M with your weapon equipped) to begin unlocking Resurreccion. Meditation is most effective when the inner world whispers to you, shown as yellow text above your skill bar, and it leads to an inner world fight against your past forms. Vasto Lorde is the foundation that makes that endgame loop worth using, so it is worth taking the slower route to arrive with all four trait slots intact.
