The outer Black Temple door in Chapter 7 of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy stays locked until you press four skull switches in the right sequence. Each pillar in front of the door has a skull button, and the correct order is hidden on the door itself. Read it with the Sphere, then press the skulls in that order to open the way in.
Quick answer: Stand on the pedestal in front of the door, use the Sphere’s Reveal Light ability, then press the skull pillars in this order from left to right: fourth, third, first, second. Insert the Sphere into the socket to finish opening the door.

Reading the skull order with the Sphere
When you reach the door, you’ll see four pillars, each topped with an interactable skull switch. There’s no visible clue for the order at first. The Sphere reveals it.

The correct skull press order
The columns, numbered left to right, need to be pressed in the order 4, 3, 1, 2. In plain terms, that means starting on the far right, then working across as shown below.
| Press | Which pillar |
|---|---|
| First | Far-right pillar (fourth column) |
| Second | The pillar to its left (third column) |
| Third | Far-left pillar (first column) |
| Fourth | The pillar to its right (second column) |
Note: The skulls carry over between playthroughs of the puzzle, so the reveal step is worth doing yourself if your dot layout looks different. The dot-counting rule always holds, even if the exact pattern shifts.
Finishing the door with the Sphere
Once all four skulls are pressed in the right order, the eye carved into the door opens up. Approach the socket and insert the Sphere to trigger the door.
You’ll know it worked when the eye opens and the door swings clear, letting you walk into the temple’s bone-filled interior. If nothing happens after four presses, you pressed the skulls out of order. Re-read the dots with the Sphere and start the sequence again from the far-right pillar.

Past this door, the Third Trial continues with a second, more involved skull puzzle inside the temple that uses light-reflecting mirrors, so keep the Sphere ready.
