How to reach the Dragon’s Lair inside the volcano

The interior is easy to get turned around in. Run through it once without taking the egg to learn the turns, identify dead ends, and find the fastest way out. When you carry the egg, your route back follows the same path in reverse.

Escaping the lair before the two timers expire

Reaching the egg is just the first part; collecting it triggers an escape countdown. You must get through two timed stages in succession.

Grab the egg. The Guardian Dragon wakes up and a 20-second countdown begins with the banner “Escape The Lair Before Time Runs Out!” Mount your pet immediately and ignore the monster.

Retrace your route straight up toward the surface exit. Dodge the Dragon’s fireballs and do not stop to fight it. You need to clear the volcano before this first timer hits zero.

The moment you leave the volcano, a second timer starts, shown by the banner “Egg Will Break / You Escaped! Get It Home!” On-screen it begins around 40 seconds. Once you are outside, the Guardian stops chasing you.

Fly in a straight line to your Ranch without stopping or opening menus. Drop the Volcanic Egg into your enclosure and place it in a nest before the second timer expires.

Let either countdown expire and the egg will crack, ending your attempt. Another player may take it if the Guardian knocks you out or you spend too long, so work out your escape route before picking it up.

You complete the run by bringing the egg to your Ranch, where you can set it in a nest to hatch. After it is inside the pen, it is protected while it grows.

How to confirm the Volcanic Egg has spawned
