Awakened Projection is the headline addition to the latest update for Jujutsu Zero, a Disaster Grade cursed technique modeled on Naoya Zen’in. It arrives as a fast, movement-heavy fighting style pulled from the Special Banner, backed by a dedicated upgrade tree, a new raid that supplies its materials, fresh skins, accessories, a clan, and redeemable codes.
Quick answer: Awakened Projection is a Disaster Grade Naoya Zen’in technique from the Special Banner, with four skills unlocked at the Awakened Projection Tree using materials farmed from the Zen’in Elite Raid.
What Awakened Projection is and where it comes from
Awakened Projection is obtained by rolling the Special Banner, where it appears as an “Awk Projection” pull at Disaster Grade. Once acquired, it lives in the Techniques menu alongside options like Awk Star Rage and Awk Limitless, and you equip it there to swap it in.
The technique focuses on speed. It grants movement buffs while you are focusing, and its Super Dash leaves behind after-images as you cross the terrain. The version in this update is the base kit only. A larger expansion is planned to add an enhanced skill set, an ultimate, an improved passive, and a Domain, though no release timing for that has been confirmed.

The kit is built around teleport dashes and rushing attacks. Frame Chain is the base skill, while the other three are tied to nodes on the upgrade tree.
| Skill | Source | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Frame Chain | Base | Teleporting multi-hit blitz dash |
| Split Frame | Node 1 | Rapid cross-slashing dash across targets |
| Perpetual Motion | Node 2 | Sustained rapid travel coupled with a flurry of blows |
| Mach Break | Node 3 | Straight-line supersonic rush |
In combat testing against weak enemies, the four abilities chain together into a fast rotation, with Perpetual Motion layering speed buffs on top of the burst movement the technique already provides.
Frame Freeze and Frame Snap
Frame Freeze is the bar mechanic that unlocks at Node 4. When the gauge fills, all nearby enemies are frozen inside a frame, and any damage you deal during that window accumulates instead of applying normally.
Landing 5 hits within the 6-second window triggers Frame Snap, which releases the stored damage with a +75% bonus. The mechanic rewards staying on a frozen target and finishing the hit count before the timer runs out.
Awakened Projection Tree and upgrade costs
Progression runs through the Awakened Projection Tree NPC, which sits high atop the Far Mountains. Interacting with it opens a four-node tree showing locked skills, mastery requirements, material costs, and Yen prices.

| Node | Unlocks | Cost | Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Node 1 | Split Frame | 150 MAS, ¥5,000,000 | +10 XP per NPC defeated |
| Node 2 | Perpetual Motion | 250 MAS, ¥20,000,000 | +50 CD%, +50 ATK%, +50 CER% |
| Node 3 | Mach Break | 350 MAS, ¥30,000,000 | +150 CD%, +5 DMGAMP% |
| Node 4 | Frame Freeze bar mechanic | ¥10,000,000 | +150 ATK%, +5 DMGAMP% |
Beyond mastery and Yen, the nodes also consume Projection Awakening Shard and Still Frame. Both drop from the Zen’in Elite Raid, which makes that raid the core of upgrading the technique.
Zen’in Elite Raid and its drops
The Zen’in Elite (Naoya) raid is the main activity attached to the update. It has three difficulty tiers with level requirements running from 7,000 to 11,000, and the boss fights using Awakened Projection abilities. On Easy, the boss has 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) HP.
Each clear awards between three and seven Inheritance Crates depending on tier. Opening those crates can produce Projection Awakening Shard, crafting leather, and gear such as Grade Vows. The raid itself also hands out Lumens, Yen, Motion Cog, Still Frame, a small chance at the Zen’in Elite clan, and up to 2.85 million Player XP per clear.
The Easy reward preview lists 2,000 Lumen, 200,000 Yen, 2,000,000 Player Experience, and 3 Inheritance Crate. Higher tiers scale those payouts upward.
New Awakened Projection skins
Three skins tie into the technique, each carrying its own stat profile and source.
| Skin | Bonuses | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Boosted | +10% DMG, +10% ATK | Skin Shop |
| Elite | +35% Awakened Projection DMG, +150% Crit DMG | Token Exchanger (token from Crate Rains) |
| Cursed | +35% DMG AMP, +50% Crit DMG, +50% ATK | Shop, later |
The Elite skin is the standout, and its token comes from Crate Rains before being redeemed at the Token Exchanger. Crate Rains has also had its reward pool widened, adding more progression materials alongside the Elite token.

Frame Counter, Killing Intent, and the Zen’in Elite clan
Two Special Grade accessories arrive with the update. Frame Counter buffs Awakened Projection and is crafted using Motion Cog from the Zen’in Elite Raid. Killing Intent buffs Honoyagi and other PHR weapons, and is crafted with Broken Blade from the Tsuguri Raid, giving weapon-focused players a separate upgrade path.
A new Zen’in Elite clan rounds out the additions. It synergizes with the technique by boosting Projection-related skills, and it drops as a rare reward from the Zen’in Elite Raid boss or through the relevant shop bundle.
The new Faction Raid
A new Faction Raid is also live. It features 25 trillion HP and up to 250 million XP, and completing it grants +15% Critical Damage, capped at five completions. It is tied to a fastest-clear leaderboard so factions can compete on run times.
New Jujutsu Zero codes
Two codes launched with the update, both dispensing Cursed Crystals, Lumens, and Clan Rolls. Redeem them through the in-game code menu while they are active.
| Code | Rewards |
|---|---|
| Projection | 1,000 Cursed Crystals, 5,000 Lumens, 50 Clan Rolls |
| 2KLE | 500 Cursed Crystals, 5,000 Lumens, 50 Clan Rolls |
Redeeming both together yields 1,500 Cursed Crystals, 10,000 Lumens, and 100 Clan Rolls, useful for spinning clan rolls and building resources toward the new content.
How Awakened Projection differs from the Absolute Beatdown finisher
Naoya’s name is already attached to an older piece of content, and the two are easy to confuse. Absolute Beatdown is a Projection Sorcery finisher, a single-target cutscene skill unlocked from the Mastery menu once you meet its requirements.

Absolute Beatdown requires 3 Zen’in Heirlooms, 150 Mastery, and ¥100,000. The heirlooms come from a three-part questline run through a separate Zen’in Elite quest NPC, which sits on a rock near the Lv. 400–500 beach zone rather than on the Far Mountains where the Awakened Projection Tree lives.

The final heirloom quest asks for a Domain Fragment and an Invertion. The Infinity Exchanger is one place to source materials like Domain Fragment for Infinity Tokens, alongside items such as Cursed Flesh, Heavenly Fragment, and the Gojo Clan.

The distinction is simple to hold onto: Absolute Beatdown enhances the existing Projection Sorcery kit through a quest chain, while Awakened Projection is a separate Disaster Grade technique pulled from the Special Banner and grown through its own tree and the Zen’in Elite Raid.
