Dr. Scramble’s Experiments shop in Steal An Egg sells limited-edition eggs for green chemical samples, and samples are slow to farm. The duplication trick that keeps circulating targets the gap between the purchase animation playing on your screen and the server writing that purchase to your save. Cut the connection inside that gap and the egg lands in your inventory while the currency never leaves it.
Quick answer: Turn off Wi-Fi the instant you press Buy on an Experiment egg, wait for the disconnect error, fully close Roblox, then rejoin. The egg stays, the samples do not.
Steal An Egg dupe methods and their current status
Not everything labelled a dupe does anything. Some tricks were patched, one produces an egg you can only look at, and a couple have a real, measurable payoff.

Every one of these depends on unpatched server behaviour. Test on a cheap egg before you burn thousands of samples on an attempt.
Farm samples for Dr. Scramble’s Experiments shop
You need samples before any of this matters. The shop sits inside the secret laboratory cave reached through the dark opening in the Abyss Ocean wall, and the same cave holds the Stolen Experiment Vault quest board.
- Experiment #001 — 6,500 samples, hatches a pet earning $570M/s.
- Nibbles #013 — 2,950 samples.
- Scrambled Mutation — 475 samples, applied to an egg as a consumable.
Samples drop from Dr. Scramble Experiment drones, which spawn during a timed event roughly every 30 minutes. The countdown ends with the message “A Forbidden Experiment has appeared”, after which drones hover across the biomes. Purple drones with 10/10 HP give the best sample and part returns, so skip the weaker ones when you have a choice.
The bat you swing at them comes from the Stolen Experiment Vault, which asks for Lost Parts and Drone Parts. Two static parts are easy to miss: one is tucked behind the volcanic brick structure on the right side of the Volcano biome, the other sits behind the green bushes next to the sleeping dinosaur in Prehistoric. You can also cancel the bat’s swing cooldown by switching between weapon slots 1 and 2 while spam-clicking, which clears drones considerably faster.
How to duplicate Dr. Scramble experiment eggs
The timing here is tighter than it looks. The connection has to drop between the client registering your purchase and the server saving it.

Check two things the moment you spawn in. The experiment egg should be sitting in your inventory or pen, and your sample counter should read the same number it did before you pressed Buy. If both are true, the purchase went through on your side and never registered on the server’s ledger — repeat it and you end up with two Experiment #001 eggs instead of one. If the samples are gone and only one egg exists, the disconnect landed too late and you simply bought it normally.
Other disconnect tricks that affect eggs
The same save-delay behaviour shows up in several other places, with very different payoffs.
- Plot placement: dropping the connection right after you set an egg down on your plot leaves the egg there twice when you rejoin.
- Hatch reroll: disconnecting before the pet registers in your inventory keeps the egg hatchable, which lets you roll the mutation again.
- Offline earnings: cutting out immediately after collecting a payout doubles the coin total.
- Hungry Monster: Give it an egg with the Parasite mutation, then disconnect before moving away; the meter progress and the fed egg are both retained.
- Sleeping bosses: steal an egg from a sleeping boss, disconnect, carry it home offline, then reconnect — the boss stays asleep for the rest of the session.
The hatch reroll is the most practical of the set, since one egg becomes as many mutation attempts as you have patience for. Parasite eggs are small and hard to spot on a busy map, so zoom the camera all the way into your avatar’s head for a first-person view that makes the mutation marker readable from a distance.
The 30x night multiplier is not a dupe, but it pays
At night, eggs progress at a 30x multiplier, and that boost remains active after you exit the server. During the day, place the egg in your home pen and note its timer. Stay until nighttime begins to confirm the multiplier, then leave while remaining on the Roblox menu. For example, an egg displaying 6h 53m when night started showed 6h 26m after four minutes away—roughly thirty minutes had passed on the timer during four real-time minutes. Rejoin and inspect the timer again; if it dropped by far more than your time away, the method worked. The pet you receive is legitimate and earns normally.
Stacking mutations on an experiment egg
Mutation consumables are not limited to one per egg. You can apply several to the same egg, and the income scaling is steep enough to justify the sample cost of the Scrambled Mutation from Dr. Scramble’s shop.
Applying one is a dice roll rather than a guarantee. The prompt on the egg shows the success chance, and a failed attempt consumes the consumable, so stock up before you start. A 92,000kg Divine World Burner carrying Silver, Fractured and Scrambled hatched at 19B/s, and a Divine Aetheron with the same three mutations came out at 55B/s.
Mutations have to go on before the hatch. Once an egg has hatched, you cannot add more to the pet, which is why players who want a triple-mutation result pay for an instant hatch only after every roll has landed.
Dupe methods that no longer work
The incubator-to-garden Wi-Fi dupe
This is the method featured in most clips. Disconnect your internet as the egg enters the incubator, return to your garden plot, put that same egg into your pen while offline, and reconnect before the game removes you. The egg appears in both locations, but that is the full effect. The duplicate is only a client-side display: it cannot hatch into a pet for equipping or selling and produces no income. Reconnecting too late is the usual mistake, causing Error Code 277 and losing the entire attempt.
Dog paw menu spam
A rapid series of clicks on a dog’s paw once opened and closed the menu and made pets appear four times. That bug is patched, so repeating the clicks no longer does anything.
The Rift sacrifice disconnect
The Rift menu asks for Parrotfish, Whale Shark and Centipede sacrifices, and disconnecting mid-sacrifice used to return the pets. That route has been closed.
The night trap and the fusion disconnect
The supposed trick is to stand on a trap with a stolen egg and prevent the automatic nightfall teleport to the safe zone. It fails. Since your own traps cannot be triggered by you, a second account must place one for testing, yet the teleport still occurs. Disconnecting Wi-Fi exactly as night starts also has no effect—you reconnect in the safe zone regardless.
Cutting the connection during a Divine Fusion animation with a partner is the riskiest attempt of the lot. One test ended with the partner holding the resulting egg and the player losing their Divine pet outright.
Getting eggs to duplicate: boss traps and the cave head start
Bosses chase whoever is carrying a stolen egg, and their pathing collapses against tight geometry. Lead the Prehistoric dinosaur toward the dark secret cave entrance on the Abyss Ocean border while holding a small egg, then slip into the opening — the boss’s oversized model wedges in the entrance and stops moving. The Abyss Ocean’s crowned fish boss can be sunk into the ground the same way. With two players, one holds the boss while the other clears the nest.
Bosses require bait that matches their size. Place a large Volcano Egg or Snow Egg at the pyramid steps’ centre in Titan Temple to immobilise the Gorilla King. For the Kitsune, standing behind the temple wall structure stops its movement without any egg. If you drop a carried egg outside the boss’s assigned zone, the boss simply resets.
For first claim on freshly spawned eggs, use the cave as a night shelter. Step into the secret cave just before the countdown hits nightfall, wait inside for the ALL EGG RESET! notification, give it another 15 seconds to refresh, then walk out. You spawn in the outer zones instead of the safe zone, which puts you ahead of everyone sprinting back from spawn when a rare egg drops.
Why trading is off, and what to do with real duplicates
Trading and gifting do not exist in Steal An Egg, because duplication is the underlying reason. Allowing transfers between players would spread duped pets from server to server, while the exploit’s damage remains limited to the account that used it. Every pet on your base must be hatched, stolen or fused. Third-party marketplaces do list pre-loaded accounts containing billions of duped pets—Oni Tigers and Golden Oni Tigers are the common filler—but buying or selling Roblox accounts violates Roblox’s Terms of Use, and the exploit history remains attached to the account.
When you legitimately have multiple copies of one pet, use the Fuse Machine to combine them. Put three matching copies into its slots and choose Fuse; the machine consumes all three and gives one pet whose income rate is equal to or higher than the originals, with a chance to produce a mutation worth several times more. Combining is not automatically the best choice. Three individual income sources are better than one combined pet when those duplicates are your strongest, and a mutated input does not ensure that the result will also be mutated.
Every method here rests on server behaviour the developers can close at any time, and several already have been. The Dr. Scramble purchase disconnect is the one with a real payoff right now, and the night multiplier is the one that costs you nothing if it stops working. Treat anything built on a duped pet as temporary, because the game can remove it later.
