The fastest path through every beacon, dungeon, and secret in the Ruins of Nochte, including the Duality Stone and Revered Gland.

The Ruins of Nochte is the largest region in Fainweald and the last one you clear before moving on to the Ruins of Mammon. You reach it through a Bone Gate south of Widow’s Overlook, and your main objective is to cleanse the Nochtean Gate Beacon so you can enter the Prisoner’s Domain. Along the way you can pick up a new Shell, two powerful upgrade items, and a Tarstone reward from the region boss.

Quick answer: Enter through the right-most Bone Gate south of Widow’s Overlook, cleanse the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon, then push to the Nochtean Gate Beacon. Cleanse the Abandoned Shrine by defeating Vragu, Solikar Champion, and clear the Ravaged Tomb and Thieves Retreat for the Duality Stone and Revered Gland.

What the Ruins of Nochte contains

Before running the route, it helps to know what is actually here and why each stop matters. The region holds four dungeons, one main beacon, a new Shell, and a required boss.

How to reach the Ruins of Nochte

Return to the Desolate Peak and cross the bridge past Baghead to the Bone Gate on the south side. This Bone Gate is unusual because it connects to two different destinations.
Look toward the right-most Bone Gate and travel through it. This drops you directly into the Ruins of Nochte, near the region’s main fort.
Kill the Brigands and Stoners that rush you after you arrive, and grab the lone Ventrium from their camp. Take the right-hand path down the winding slope instead of the bridge, which leads into the fort you will save for last.

Unlock Smert at Prophet’s Rest

Prophet’s Rest is a ritual area guarded by several groups of Cultists, including a Faceless Clerik. Clearing it grants the Smert Shell, which can halt time and pummel enemies to build Chaos stacks that convert into a random status effect when time resumes.

Follow the slope down, killing the Mycellian Skulk and Torch Cultist fighting along the way, and destroy the Gloom Tentacle beside them. Loot the two Devout’s Chalices from the statue mouths on the right-hand path around the rock.
Enter Prophet’s Rest and clear every Cultist group. Note the three rings on the ground around the ritual area, which must be filled with blood.
Fill each ring by killing enemies on or very near it. You can also interact with a ring to fill it with your own blood, but that instantly drops your health bar to zero, so only do it while your Shell is still intact.
With all enemies dead and all three rings filled, approach the center and interact with the Shell to unlock Smert. You will enter the “The Convert” Memory. Attack the Hierarch when Smert says “Then I will encourage you” to finish the sequence and gain the Shell.

Outskirts of Nochte Beacon and the Infested Den

The first beacon sits past a set of archways below Prophet’s Rest, and it holds a dungeon crawling with Skulks.

From Prophet’s Rest, head down the slope into the water. Ignore the Skulks and Rootbound Lurks ahead, turn left, and pass through the archways to reach the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon.

Enter the Infested Den from the beacon. As you exit the elevator, watch for an ambushing Skulk on your left, then strike the wall directly behind the campfire on the ground to dispel it.
Clear the main room, head around the back-left past another Skulk, and go up the wooden stairs. Kill the three Skulks on the upper platform, then shoot the vertical wooden surface across the gap to drop a bridge.
Cross the bridge, kill the next two Skulks, and collect the 500x Coin Pouch on the left. Break the Bone Statue for a Laterite, then ride the air current up to the next ledge.
Clear the Skulks and open the chest for the Hag Stone, a Tarstone that infuses your Forgotten Crossbow with Poison. Push through the cave to the final room, thin out the four Skulks and Leechtongue from above with your Sidearm, then drop down and cleanse the corruption at the far side for a Glimpse and an Ovum.

Get the map fragment and cross the Hag’s Path

The full island map fragment sits just off the Outskirts area, and the Hag’s Path connects to it. The Hag’s Path itself is mostly a swamp packed with enemies and Tarspores, so stick to the edges to hit the valuable spots.

From the beacon, take the archways on the opposite side from where you entered. Kill the two Lithopods, then take the right-hand slope up through the stone doorway to reach Ruk, who hands over the Map of Fainweald [1] that reveals the entire Ruins of Nochte.
Backtrack and take the left-hand path. Kill the six sleeping Lithopods around the Bone Statue on the cliff edge and loot it for a Laterite, then continue around the corner into the Hag’s Path.
As you enter the swamp, kill the three Skulks and the Tarred Vestige, then hug the left wall to a clearing with ritual totems and a Wortbinder Witch. Head left through the archway to a slope with three Frog Cultists and clear them.
Return to the ritual circle and kill the Witch. A Tarred Vestige spawns in the center on her death, so finish it too. Loot the Ventrium from the statue near the Frog Cultists and follow the upper walkway to another Laterite.
Cross the river to the other side, clearing the two Batushka, a Cannibal Knight, and two Rootbound Lurks that surface as you pass. Loot the Bone Statue on your left for another Laterite, then grab the 150x Coin Pouch from the cart and continue to the clearing with the gnarled trees. Follow the cliff edge left for one more Laterite by the far Bone Gate.

Note: The Disciple’s Stash is a village dungeon reached by taking the last right-hand turn in this area, where a Neophyte Sester waits. Clear it for the Clerik’s Stone if you want the extra reward.

Enter Nochte from the east and reach the Nochtean Gate Beacon

The main fort is reached most cleanly from the east side. Fast travel to Widow’s Overlook and cross the rock bridges into the region.

Clear the Waterfall Camp dungeon inside the destroyed building in the small swamp near the rock bridges. It contains a Coin of Mammon and a Ventrium, and you can open it from the side by pressing a button.
Head toward the slope and check the left side for extra items, then swing back right to a weathered barracks. Fight through the Knight enemies, open the chest holding 750 Gold, and unlock the cages to release distractions that help you reach the Bone Gate.
Lower the bridge before you push on so you have an extra path later. Defeat the Brigands ahead and keep going to reach the Nochtean Gate Beacon, which houses the Abandoned Shrine.

Clear the Ravaged Tomb for the Duality Stone

The Ravaged Tomb sits close to the Nochtean Gate and holds the Duality Stone, an item built for dual-wielding setups.

From the Nochtean Gate Beacon, take the nearby elevator down, open the gate, and enter the Ravaged Tomb.
Press the wall button and smash the stone pedestal to open the internal gate. Fight through the exploding skeleton enemies in the chamber beyond.

Loot the Duality Stone from the tomb chamber. Open the shortcut gate and deal with the large armored enemy, then exit and return to the Nochtean Gate Beacon.

Clear the Thieves Retreat for the Revered Gland

The Thieves Retreat sits north of the Nochtean Gate in the small destroyed castle. Its final reward is the Revered Gland, which increases your healing potion capacity. Reaching it requires precise platforming across floating stone pillars and an elevator ride.

From the beacon, follow the route to the Thieves Retreat, clearing enemies on the wooden platform path and defeating the large wooden golem. Navigate the cliffs and jump across the gaps.
Cross the bridge to collect 500 coins, then return and use your crossbow to shoot down the hanging platforms by hitting their supporting ropes. Drop the platforms this way to open the path forward and reach the chests.
Enter the Thieves Retreat proper, unlock the gate, and shoot the circular wall switch. Perform the precise jumps across the floating stone pillars, then fight through the flooded ruins and the second wooden golem.
Take the elevator to the upper level and jump across the stone pillars to a hidden ledge. Loot the Revered Gland from the sarcophagus, then use the elevator and platforming path to return to the exit.

Cleanse the Abandoned Shrine and defeat Vragu, Solikar Champion

Cleansing the Nochtean Gate Beacon opens the Corrupted Gate to the Prisoner’s Domain, but it requires collecting three Ova eggs from the Abandoned Shrine and beating the region boss. The fight rewards the Voltaic Crown Tarstone.

Cleanse the Nochtean Gate Beacon to open the Corrupted Gate, then enter the Abandoned Shrine.
Fight the dual-wielding enemies inside the shrine and loot the stone sarcophagus.
Drop down to face Vragu, Solikar Champion. The Shrike Stone build is an effective way to bring the boss down quickly. Defeating it grants the Voltaic Crown Tarstone.
Collect the three Ova eggs to cleanse the corruption. Once the gate is cleansed, drop down the bridge and head to the gate you opened earlier to access the lift into the Prisoner’s Domain.

You know the region is complete when the Nochtean Gate Beacon is cleansed and the Corrupted Gate opens, giving you the Ovum reward and clearing your path onward. With Fainweald finished at this point, the game directs you toward the Ruins of Mammon next.
