Rumor: The Beast Fang Ridge Research Notes I Walkthrough in Aniimo

Sayn, a researcher with the Polaris Institute, keeps losing his notes. One of those spills happened in Beast Fang Ridge, and the Rumor quest that follows asks you to pick up three scattered reports before handing the collected findings back to him. The route is short, but two of the three pickups need a specific tool.

Quick answer: All three Bonesky Family Research Reports sit in Beast Fang Ridge, reachable from map points -1413, 1398, -1295, 1374 and -1332, 1353. Deliver them to Sayn at the Outpost (-1519, 0829).

What you need before collecting the notes

Two of the three pickups are gated behind traversal, not combat. Sort these out first and the whole run takes a few minutes.

A fire attack to melt the ice barrier at the Echoback Landing cave entrance.
A flying Aniimo companion so you can glide into the sinkhole.
Transporters unlocked near Frigid Waters, the Scorchhowl point, and the Outpost.
A team suited to the area, since Beast Fang Ridge runs at levels 30–35.

Fire is easy to come by here. Scorchhowl roams this exact area and is a Fire-element Aniimo, so anything from that family can clear the ice for you.

Those coordinates are the custom pins you drop on the map to warp in close, not the exact spot each report sits on. The order below matches the fastest loop, starting at the far western end of the ridge and working back toward the Scorchhowl transporter.

Bonesky Family Research Report III: Echoback Landing ice cave

Open the map and place a custom marker at -1413, 1398, just past Frigid Waters. Teleport to the nearest point and start moving toward Echoback Landing.

Cross the field of purple flowers until you reach the cave mouth. A wall of ice blocks the entrance, and nothing else will get you through it.

Hit the ice with a fire skill to melt it, then head inside. Bonesky Family Research Report III is a short walk into the cave, marked by a glowing pickup prompt on the ground.

Bonesky Family Research Report II: the sinkhole glide

Back on the map, drop a marker at -1295, 1374, right next to the Scorchhowl label, and use the Teleport button to warp in.

Run to the cliff edge until the ground opens into a deep crater. Do not try to climb down the sides.

Summon a flying Aniimo and glide to the bottom. The report sits on a rock in the shallow water at the base of the sinkhole.

Bonesky Family Research Report I: slope near Alpha Scorchhowl

Open the map again, mark -1332, 1353, and teleport back to the Scorchhowl point. The last report is a short run from there.

Follow the marker up a grassy slope. An Alpha Scorchhowl patrols this stretch, and you can sprint past it rather than fight, since the quest never asks you to beat it.

Grab Bonesky Family Research Report I from the hillside. The objective counter should now read 3/3.

Scorchhowl is the stage-three Emberpup family Aniimo native to this ridge, a Fire DPS with 119 attack and 119 magic attack. The Alpha version guarding the slope hits harder than the standard spawn, which is why the run-past is the cleaner option at level 30.

Deliver the notes to Sayn at the Outpost

Track the quest so the waypoint updates to the delivery target, then teleport to the Outpost at -1519, 0829.

Find Sayn, listed as the Seated Researcher, and talk to him. Choose the dialogue option that hands over “Research on the Bonesky Species.”

Confirm the turn-in. The quest closes out of your Log and the reward screen pays out 10x Glimmer.

You can check your progress at any point from the Log menu. The first objective tracks as “Find the Bonesky research notes in Beast Fang Ridge” with a running count, and it only flips to the delivery step once all three reports are in your inventory. If the counter is stuck at 2/3 after the sinkhole and the slope, the missing one is Report III behind the ice at Echoback Landing.
