Chasm Dash is the lowest-level Agility course in RuneScape: Dragonwilds and the first one most players will ever run. It sits in the Brynmoor region, on the edge of Bramblemead Valley overlooking a purple mist chasm, and it only asks for one Agility level to enter. Clear it fast enough and it hands back the reward that makes every other course worth grinding: the recipe for the Gyrhawk Amulet.
Quick answer: Run Chasm Dash in Brynmoor and finish under 00:57 to earn the Gold medal, which unlocks the Gyrhawk Amulet recipe (+100% Agility XP while exploring the world) alongside two golden capes and a Brynmoor gold reward pack.
Chasm Dash and the Agility skill
Agility arrived with update 0.12.1 on 29 July 2026, adding six timed courses across Ashenfall along with passive perks, shortcuts, and reworked movement spells. Each course has its own flag, a leaderboard of times, and a fixed trail of orbs to gather from start to finish. Chasm Dash is the entry point, unlocked the moment you have level 1 Agility.
You reach it by heading northwest into Bramblemead Valley, where the starting banner stands right at the lip of the chasm. The course carries a power level of 10 in that area, so goblins and other enemies roam the approach, but they will not touch you once you are on the run itself.

Chasm Dash is a chain of floating glass platforms and fire hazards suspended over the chasm. You touch the Agility orbs in order from the start banner to the finish, and missing one sends you back to the last active orb. Yellow Stamina Orbs are scattered along the route to top up your stamina mid-run.
You cannot build structures to cheat the layout, but spells and well-timed jumps between obstacles are fair game. Fall off a platform and the attempt ends immediately, dropping you into the chasm. Pressing ESC, walking away, or dying also abandons the run, so a clean line matters more than raw speed on early tries.

The chasm around the course is lethal. Traversing the surrounding pillars with the Windstep spell to explore nearby ruins is easy to misjudge, and a mistimed jump can kill you outright.

Chasm Dash medal times and rewards
Three medal tiers are on offer, each tied to a completion time: Gold under 00:57, Silver under 01:03, and Bronze under 01:13, as displayed on the course’s challenge screen. Slightly looser Silver and Bronze targets (01:05 and 01:15) are sometimes listed, so pace for the tighter times to be safe. First-time clears pay out the full experience and the headline rewards; those first-clear payouts stay available until you actually hit the required time. Repeat runs give reduced XP but still drop the matching Brynmoor reward pack.
| Medal | Time | First-clear XP | First-clear rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 00:57 | 200 XP | Golden Bramblemead Cape, Golden Whispering Cape, Brynmoor gold pack, 6 warped feathers |
| Silver | 01:03 | 110 XP | Brynmoor silver pack |
| Bronze | 01:13 | 55 XP | Brynmoor bronze pack |
A Silver clear looks like this: crossing the finish just over the minute mark, around 01:01, banks the 110 XP and the silver pack but leaves the top prizes locked.

The Gold threshold is unforgiving. Finishing at 00:57.70 misses it by well under a second and only pays out the small repeat-clear XP, so the run has to land under the full 00:57 mark to count.

The Gyrhawk Amulet, the standout gold reward
The reason Chasm Dash matters beyond a first medal is the Gyrhawk Amulet recipe, which only unlocks with the Gold clear. It is a trinket with 250 durability that grants +100% increased Agility XP while you explore the world. That doubling applies to the passive experience you pick up simply by moving around Ashenfall, and it burns through warped feathers as fuel while worn, which is exactly why the gold pack also hands you a stack of feathers to start with.
You know the reward landed when the finish screen shows the Gold medal and a “NEW RECIPES UNLOCKED!” banner listing the Gyrhawk Amulet along with the two golden capes. From there the amulet can be crafted and equipped at a crafting table.

There is a stronger version further down the line. The Gilded Gyrhawk Amulet keeps everything the base amulet does and adds +25% Agility XP from courses themselves, but its recipe only appears once you hold gold record times on every course, which effectively locks it behind level 65 Agility. The plain Gyrhawk Amulet from Chasm Dash is the one that gets that grind started.
The capes and reward packs
Alongside the amulet, the Gold clear delivers two cosmetic capes, the Golden Bramblemead Cape and the Golden Whispering Cape, plus a Brynmoor gold reward pack. Mastering a region’s course is designed to give you a gilded, trimmed version of that region’s cape as a trophy, similar to mounting Gold Medals on your walls like Pristine Fish from Fishing.
Reward packs are the repeatable draw. Every finish, first clear or not, drops the pack that matches your medal tier, so returning to Chasm Dash keeps feeding warped feathers, runes, and recipes into your storage. That loop, paired with the Gyrhawk Amulet’s doubled passive XP, is what turns the first agility course from a one-time novelty into an early cornerstone of Agility training.
