Sunbrella is one of the first Uncommon scrooms you will run into in SCROOMS, right where you start. It lives in Songkeeper’s Grove, sits at number 7 of 15 on that area’s Index page, and answers on a narrow frequency band that you tune into during the catch.
Quick answer: Put an instrument in hotbar slot 1, then play on the lawn beside Songkeeper’s Grove’s spawn marker. When Sunbrella responds, hold it in the catch zone until the bar is full. Its frequency ranges from 26.2 Hz to 43.7 Hz.
Sunbrella rarity and frequency range
The Index entry heads Sunbrella as an “Uncommon Scroom” and prints its frequency as a range, not a single number. Every Sunbrella you catch comes with its own pitch from inside that band, shown on its backpack card and in the catch message.
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Area: Songkeeper’s Grove, your starting area (entry 7 of 15)
- Frequency: 26.2 Hz – 43.7 Hz
- Index line: “Even in his own shade, he’s a little dizzy…”
Scroll the entry down and it keeps a Stats block, with your Highest Frequency caught so far and the date, plus a Tones block covering Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant. A scroom you have not caught yet shows as a black silhouette labelled “???”; catching a single Sunbrella fills that card in.

In Songkeeper’s Grove, play from the lawn near the red wooden houses and spawn marker. You can’t choose which scroom responds; the game picks one. Keep playing in the Grove until Sunbrella answers.
How to catch Sunbrella
Every scroom uses the same catching flow, built on tuning and rhythm. A Tamer’s Guitar in slot 1 handles Sunbrella fine.

Confirming the catch
When the bar fills, a message prints under your character reading “You caught: Sunbrella! Frequency: <n> Hz”, with the exact pitch of that individual catch. A catch landed a Sunbrella at 32.6 Hz, well inside the printed range. At the same time, the Index card swaps from the “???” silhouette to the filled-in Sunbrella entry, and your Highest Frequency stat updates if this catch beats your previous best.
Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant tones
A prefix on a scroom’s name identifies its tone. You might catch a “Melodic Sunbrella” or a “Harmonic Sunbrella”, while a single scroom may have both, as in “Melodic Harmonic Sunbrella”. The Index card uses a gold star for a caught Melodic tone and a cyan star for a caught Harmonic tone. In the Tones block, each tone has its own catch date; before you catch it, the entry reads “Uncaught”.
