Silent Hill Townfall: 6 North Brae Locked Box Code (Lamenting Poem)

The three-digit combination for the file box in 6 North Brae, where the poem’s numbers come from, and what the box unlocks.

The locked file box sitting on the dressing table in 6 North Brae is the last of three house puzzles in the Clara Woods stretch of Silent Hill: Townfall. It guards a locker barcode, and that barcode is the only way to get into one of the CEG employee lockers holding a Mechanical Part. The poem on the chair beside it does all the work, as long as you know which three pictures to count.

Quick answer: The 6 North Brae box code is 736. The digits are the seven boats, three arches, and six children counted from pictures inside the house, in the order the poem names them.

What you need before 6 North Brae opens up

You cannot walk to this house straight away. The upper section of the estate is sealed behind a chained gate above the CEG Lockers, and the only tool that cuts it is the Boltcutters from Locker 17. That locker is the payoff for the floppy disk puzzle in 5 South Brae, so finish that chain first.

With the Boltcutters in hand, head back to the CEG Lockers, go upstairs, and cut the chain on the gate. 6 North Brae sits on the western side of the Upper Level, in the block marked Employee Residences on the map.

The front door of 6 North Brae is locked and stays locked. Walk around the building and go in through the back door instead.

Where the Lamenting Poem numbers come from

Upstairs in the bedroom, a note called the Lamenting Poem rests on a wooden chair next to the dressing table. Each stanza mourns a different thing, and those three things are the ones you have to count in the artwork hanging around the house. If you have puzzle hints turned on, the key words appear in red on the note itself.

The poem names boats, then arches, then children, and that order is the order of the digits.

The children are the easiest digit to get wrong, because they are spread across three separate frames downstairs rather than one picture. Add up every child across all of them and you land on six. Read top to bottom and the combination is 736.

How to open the locked box in the bedroom

Go to the master bedroom upstairs and approach the dressing table facing the mirror. The black metal file box is sitting on top of it.
Interact with the lock to bring up the tumbler panel. The prompt reads E Unlock on keyboard and mouse.

Move the tumblers to 7, 3, and 6 from left to right, then press confirm. The lid pops open straight away if the digits are right.
Take the document inside. The collect prompt appears over the folder slots, and the item drops into your inventory as Barcode (North Brae), tagged for Locker 204.

The slip itself is a CEG Lockers rental receipt, ticket number 7717, signed by Beth Price of 6 North Brae with a date in of 04/01/96. The service number printed along the bottom is 5698 – 2333 – 0053.

Turning the barcode into the Locker 204 code

The barcode is not the reward on its own. Head back down to the CEG Lockers and feed it into the barcode reader, which reads the slip and hands you the PIN for that specific locker. For Locker 204 the combination is 971.

Punch 971 into Locker 204 and you get a Mechanical Part, one of the three the gate in Clara Woods demands. The other two come from the 5 South Brae and 5 Upper Brae boxes, which run on the same barcode-then-locker loop.

If the reader refuses the code or the locker will not accept it, check that the barcode is actually in your inventory. Several locks in Townfall only become interactive once you are carrying the matching clue or key item, so a correct number alone is not always enough.

You will know the whole sequence worked when the Mechanical Part lands in your inventory and the gate objective ticks over. From there it is straight back to the remaining lockers until all three parts are collected.
