Silent Hill: Townfall – How to Get the Community Garden Key

Part 2: Zoe sends you across St. Amelia to check on Mr. Stewart, who lives in the northern half of the Shorefront District. The route runs east through St. Amelia Park and into the Community Gardens, and that is where the game stops you cold. The gate at the far end of the allotments is locked, and the only way through is a key sitting inside a padlocked garden shed a few steps away.

Quick answer: The Community Garden Key is inside Jane’s Shed in the allotments. Open the shed with the year printed on Jane Chalmers’ award plaque, take the key, and unlock the east gate.

The Community Gardens route in St. Amelia

Everything in this stretch happens in a small area, so it helps to know what each landmark is for before you start wandering with the CRTV raised. There is no detour around the gate and no second path north. You solve the shed, or you stay put.

Read the allotment plaques to open Jane’s Shed

Walk the rows of allotments and look down. Small plaques sit on the ground beside the plots, and they are readable without the CRTV.

Locate the plaque recording Jane Chalmers receiving the “Community Spirit Award” in 1993. The year provides the entire puzzle answer: Jane owns the shed, and her winning year opens the lock.

Head to the wooden shed marked Jane’s Shed and interact with the combination lock on the door.

Dial in the four digits from the plaque and confirm. The padlock releases and the door swings open, which is your confirmation that the number was right.

Take the Community Garden Key and unlock the gate

There is no second puzzle waiting inside. Step into the shed and the Community Garden Key is right there to pick up, which is the only thing the shed exists for.

Back out and return to the locked gate at the east end of the gardens. With the key in your inventory the interaction prompt changes from locked to usable, the gate opens, and you cross into the northern part of St. Amelia’s Shorefront District. Done properly, this whole detour costs you nothing in the way of encounters.

Reaching Mr. Stewart’s house on Commercial Road

From the gate, follow the streets to Commercial Road and look for Mr. Stewart’s house. The front door may be locked when you arrive, which is normal and not a sign that you missed something.

If the front door will not open, loop around through the back gardens. There is an open section of fence that lets you reach the rear of the property and the back door, and the objective picks up from there.

Jane’s Shed lock: 1993

Enter it on the padlock attached to the shed door in the Community Gardens, then confirm to open the door.

Once you are through the gate with Mr. Stewart’s house in sight, the gardens are behind you for good, and Part 2 continues north without sending you back for anything else in the allotments.
