Clear every quest in the two-hour trial and beat the Hand Demon to earn the Slayer title, uniform, and Kasugai Crow.

In Slayers 2, Final Selection is the trial that makes an unaffiliated human part of the Demon Slayer Corps. It takes place in a dark forest and strings together NPC quests, a parkour dungeon, a timed horse ride, and a boss whose attacks only work when you fight it correctly. The trial is available only to characters on the human/Slayer path, and completing it is the sole way to earn the Slayer title.

Quick answer: Reach Level 45 on the Slayer path, wait at The Sisters for the two-hour timer, finish every NPC quest in order, kill the Hand Demon’s minions before the boss, then return to The Sisters to register.

Final Selection requirements and how to enter

The trial unlocks at Level 45, and your character must follow the human/Slayer route. Choosing Demon locks that character out of becoming a Slayer through Final Selection. Since the paths are distinct, choose the Slayer side if your goal is to fight demons.

Final Selection starts on a repeating schedule, opening about every two hours. There is no manual queue: wait in the area near the two guide NPCs called The Sisters until the countdown hits zero. The lobby is then transported to the raid map automatically. Miss the countdown and you will need to wait for the next opening; check the timer displayed there instead of relying on a set time.

To reach the gate, travel through Mistfall Harbor toward Butterfly Estate, cross the long bridge south, then follow the path to the Final Selection Plains at the western edge of the map, left of the estate. A spawn point sits near the location, which makes repeat attempts faster.

Equip a lantern before you start. It clears the dark fog that covers the map, making the forest and mountain sections far easier to navigate. Bringing a horse and about 25 Wen for bandages is also worth doing before you enter.

Full quest order

The route proceeds in a set sequence, with each NPC sending you onward. Red exclamation icons display the distance in meters to your destination. Picking up an item does not finish a stage: you must go back to the NPC named for that objective, so check the tracker before continuing.

Forest quests: Rem, Vael, Klien, and Rika

Collect three fruits for Rem

Your starting point is the dark forest. Follow the first marker to Rem, who needs an Apple, a Banana, and Grapes. The fruit is all nearby, but Rogue Demons roam that area, so be ready to battle as you collect it.

  • Grapes: behind the large tree where Rem is standing.
  • Apple: Find it just to Rem’s right.
  • Banana: It is left of Rem, a bit farther away.

Collect all three and hand them back to Rem to open the next objective.

Defeat five Lesser Demons for Vael

Vael’s task is to kill five Lesser Demons in the nearby woods. They often gather together, making an area-of-effect skill a fast way to clear them. Check the objective tally, then return to Vael when it is full. If the number stays the same, you are attacking the wrong kind of enemy.

Recover Klien’s katana and bandage his wounds

Klien has lost his Nichirin Katana somewhere near the cliffs. Head to the right of the direction he faces and search beneath a tree to find it, then bring it back. He then needs patching up, which sends you to the merchant Rika. She sells bandages for 25 Wen each. Buy more than you need, since they double as your self-heal later and there is no shop in the second half of the raid.

Go back to Klien for a brief treatment minigame. This quick-time event calls for pressing the prompt at the right moment, not mashing buttons. Wait for the tracker to confirm the treatment; the next marker appears afterward.

The Lost Slayer and the Submerged Key

Mizuto directs you over the water to retrieve an underwater key. Enter the lake and swim beneath the surface to find the cave entrance. A mini-boss named the Lost Slayer is inside; defeat him for the Submerged Key, then take it back to Mizuto to continue.

You can use that key to unlock the Lost Chest inside the flooded cave; there is no alternate entrance. It rewards crafting materials and the mythic Lost Lantern, making the trip worthwhile on each run.

Parkour dungeon: levers, spikes, and four lives

This section ends more runs than the combat does. You have four lives for three parkour courses filled with spike traps, moving platforms, and gaps. Turn each red lever green to unlock the following gate. A jump timed badly into the spikes uses up one life.

Advance through the course carefully, activating a lever before moving on instead of rushing through a chain of jumps. Touch each checkpoint along the way; without one, a later death can make you replay part of the course. Opening every gate gives you access to the exit portal, which returns you outside. Wait for the completion to register before leaving, then head back to the quest giver.

Mountain Survival and Levi’s civilian rescue

Lavato sends you on a timed Mountain Survival trip through foggy terrain. Use a horse to reach four blue-flag checkpoints before time runs out. Poor visibility makes the objective markers a better guide than the scenery. Each checkpoint extends the timer, so there is no need to rush as soon as it begins.

Levi assigns two tasks in sequence. Go into the marked capture zone and defeat its demon guards, remaining there until the capture finishes. After that, collect three civilians and bring them to Levi individually. Riding a horse makes the return journeys much shorter, but each civilian still needs a separate delivery.

Hand Demon boss fight: clear the minions first

Steve is the last NPC before the boss. Speak with him and accept the objective before you attack, because his quest is what makes the boss chest lootable. Skip the conversation and you lose the best drops in the raid.

The Hand Demon takes no damage as long as any summoned minions remain alive. When your hits stop registering, a new demon wave is active. Eliminate those enemies, then attack the boss before another wave appears.

Dodging is the other key to this fight. Poison clouds and powerful ground slams give you enough warning to get clear before they land. Keep away while minions remain, approach only during the boss’s vulnerable phase, and use bandages in the pauses between slams instead of waiting until your health is almost gone.

More players in the raid give the Hand Demon more health, so a crowded lobby makes the battle longer rather than easier. Having another player draw its attention can still help, but extra players do not guarantee a quicker kill. Keep repeating the cycle of clearing minions and attacking the boss until the objective shows 1/1.

Rewards and how to confirm you are a Slayer

Defeating the Hand Demon does not complete the final hand-in. After the last hit, stay in the raid and wait for the tracker to finish. Then return to The Sisters and register your result; that registration is what grants Slayer status.

A Title unlocked: Slayer notice confirms success. The Sisters give you the Slayer Uniform and a Kasugai Crow, and your rank becomes Mizunoto, the Corps’ lowest level. The crow supplies quests and lets you send messages to Slayers anywhere on the map.

With Slayer status confirmed, you can leave the raid behind and move on to the ranking system. Mizunoto is your first rank, the Kasugai Crow is your primary source of assignments, and the mythic loot from the chests helps you tackle the next part of the game.
