Slop Tower Defense: Best Units by Tier and Trade Value

The S-tier and A-tier units worth chasing in Slop Tower Defense, and why trade value and battle strength rarely match.

The S-tier and A-tier units worth chasing in Slop Tower Defense, and why trade value and battle strength rarely match.

Unit tiers in Slop Tower Defense do two different jobs at once. They tell you roughly how a unit performs on the lane, and they hint at how much other players will hand over for it in a trade. Those two things drift apart constantly, which is why the roster below is sorted by what each unit is actually worth holding.

Quick answer: Cockey Poseidon carries the highest S-tier trade value, while Watch of Doom and Star Fruit pull the strongest demand. In A-tier, True Slap Man leads on value and Moon Blossom is the steadiest hold.

S-tier units and where they stand in trades

The top of the list is small, and only a handful of names move the needle when you open a trade window.

UnitTierTrade standing
Cockey PoseidonSHighest S-tier value
Watch of DoomSVery high demand
Star FruitSFrequent high offers
Upgraded Titan TV ManSSolid S-tier hold
Patriot TV ManSSolid S-tier hold
Party CatSSolid S-tier hold
Upgraded Titan Clock ManSSolid S-tier hold

Cockey Poseidon is the single most valuable unit in this group. If you own one, treat it as your ceiling piece and price everything else against it.

Watch of Doom is the demand magnet. Players chase it hard enough that they routinely overpay, which makes it the easiest S-tier unit to cash out at a profit rather than a fair swap.

Star Fruit behaves similarly. Offers come in unprompted and they tend to be generous, so there is rarely a reason to accept the first one.

Upgraded Titan TV Man, Patriot TV Man, Party Cat and Upgraded Titan Clock Man round out the tier. They are strong holds, but none of them command the same premium as the three above.

A-tier: Moon Blossom and True Slap Man

A-tier is where most players actually trade, and two names do the heavy lifting.

  • Moon Blossom — high demand and unusually stable, so its worth does not swing much between updates. The safer of the two if you want to hold.
  • True Slap Man — the highest trading value in A-tier. Better suited to trading up toward an S-tier piece than to sitting in your inventory.

Stability matters more than a single high offer. A unit that keeps its value across patches protects you from a bad trade later.

Why trade value and battle strength do not line up

A unit’s tier, its popularity and what people will pay for it are three separate measurements. A unit can shred waves and still attract weak offers because nobody is hunting for it. Another can be mediocre on the lane and still fetch a pile of high-tier units because it looks good, is hard to obtain, or happens to be trending.

Before you accept anything, weigh all three. Read the tier, check how often people are asking for the unit, and compare its stats against what you are being offered. Trading purely off a tier letter is how good rosters get hollowed out.

High-end unit stats in the crafting menu

The crafting screen is the fastest place to compare raw output, since it lists damage, range, cooldown and DPS at both base and maximum upgrade. Figures below are maximum DPS.

King Midas is the clearest example of a unit doing two jobs. It pairs splash damage with a farm effect, so it earns while it clears, and it is capped at two placements per match.

Two units sit outside the DPS table because they are support pieces. Flowergirl Afterwind is an Exclusive with a Boost and AOE Slow effect, dropping its cooldown from 1 to 0.5 at max. Golden Freddy Trashcan is a Mythical Boost and Farm unit with a range of 14 rising to 21.

Scarcity: existence counts and placement limits

Existence counts are the closest thing to a hard number behind a unit’s value. The lower the count, the harder it is to replace if you trade it away.

Emperor Midas sits at just two in existence with a placement limit of one, which puts it in a different category from everything else on the list. At the other end, Milestone Guest1337 is the most common of the Mythical milestone units and allows three placements, so it is a working roster unit rather than a bargaining chip.

The Exclusive Pack price

The Exclusive Pack bundles cash, a unit and crates into a single purchase. It costs 7,777 gems or 299 Robux, so the gem route is open to anyone willing to bank currency instead of spending it on summons.

Top-tier units do not replace an early-wave lineup

A high-value unit is only useful once you can afford to place it. Early waves still run on cheap economy and damage units set down near the start of the path, with splash coverage added as groups get bigger. Freddy Trashcan keeps cash flowing, Cat handles clustered enemies, and Gubby and Elliot cover focused damage while you build toward your expensive placements.

Sort your roster by what it does rather than what it is labelled. Keep Cockey Poseidon and Watch of Doom as your high-value anchors, hold Moon Blossom when you want something that will not lose worth overnight, and check the crafting stats before you agree to any swap involving a unit you cannot easily replace.
