The Round Table in Sovereign Tower holds far fewer seats than there are knights to fill them. There are 23 recruitable knights, each with a fixed stat spread, a home region, favourite meals, and a specific way to be recruited. Because the table caps out well below that number, no single save can hold every knight, so the real work is deciding who earns a seat and who you leave behind.
Quick answer: The stat table below lists 24 rows for 23 knights because Rufus is The Wolf after his curse is lifted, not a separate recruit. Your table holds 6 knights in Act 1, 8 in Act 2, and 10 in Act 3. Victoria has the strongest raw stats by a wide margin, while low-Wits knights like Goberto exist to trigger hidden outcomes such as The False Bank.
Round Table seat caps and locked questlines
The table grows one act at a time but never gets big enough for the full roster. That alone forces cuts, and the Act 1 story fork makes it worse.
| Act | Round Table seats |
|---|---|
| Act 1 | 6 |
| Act 2 | 8 |
| Act 3 | 10 |
Siding with Arnold sends you into the Groveshire questline, while siding with Damian sends you to Gavault, and you cannot follow both in one run. Groveshire gates Silgur, The Wolf, and by extension Rufus. Gavault gates Brunhilda and Tarcus. Pick a side and two or three knights disappear from that save.
Rewinding time with the Demon in the crypts does reopen the other branch, but it also erases the good outcomes you already earned. You can lose artefacts and knights you already met, which usually costs more than the single recruit you were chasing. The cleaner path is to uncover Gideon’s past, finish the run, and start again, which opens both questlines.

Note: Rufus and The Wolf share the same stat line, home region, liked quests, and meals because they are the same character. Belladonna the Witch cures the curse and turns The Wolf into Rufus, so recruiting one is really transforming the other.

Stat outliers worth knowing
Victoria sits far above the field with a 67 total, and her locked sword raises almost all of her stats by one or two more points on top of that. Nothing else in the roster comes close. Chester is the opposite kind of extreme, since his stats are fully random and reroll every time the game reads them, so he only works if you want the gamble.
Daguez pours everything into Strength at 15 and zeroes out four other stats. Goberto reads as the weakest knight on paper at a 12 total, but his Almor armour transformation pushes him to 17 max armour and lets him soak damage meant for the rest of the party.
How to recruit each knight
Alwena is the trickiest one to trigger. She only volunteers when every other knight is unavailable, so send everyone out on two-cycle quests, leave a seat open, and visit the Round Table. She also cannot be sent on any quest longer than one cycle.
| Knight | Act | How to recruit |
|---|---|---|
| Angelica | 1 | Starting knight, arrives Cycle 2 |
| Goberto | 1 | Starting knight, arrives Cycle 2 (10 fund fallback) |
| Gwendan | 1 | Starting knight, arrives Cycle 3 |
| Ursula | 1–2 | Resolve the arrest-the-princess arc and she returns on her own |
| Dulahan | Any | Let Goberto die; Dulahan arrives wearing his armour |
| Chester | 1 | Finish the Cleankeeper goose contract in Milkford; on part 2 send Gwendan or a knight carrying cheese, and do not pick “You’re Welcome” when Chester arrives |
| The Wolf | 1 | Send Angelica specifically on Fight the Werewolf in Almor and tame it |
| Silgur | 1 | Choose Kill the Beast in Groveshire instead of taming or curing it |
| Brunhilda | 1 | Side with Gavault, investigate the taverns, and refuse to arrest her mother |
| Tarcus | 1 | Run Noble investigations in Gavault, then confirm you will stop Brunhilda |
| Arron | 1–2 | Beat the Dragon Knight, the first real boss fight |
| Gideon | 2 | He wanders into court on his own; Map Room fallback costs 25 funds |
| Alwena | Any | Send every knight out with a free seat open, then visit the Round Table |
| Ligia | 2 | Win the lamp quest within its 3-cycle deadline (expect to rewind once) |
| Childeric | 2 | Win the Almor jousting tournament; do not send Goberto |
| Zolta | 2 | Send Tarcus on Rush in Laik Vallée, then cheat through the Kutnar derby |
| Oliver | 2 | Spare your attacker in the opening instead of executing him |
| Daguez | 2–3 | Let a faction’s satisfaction collapse into the people’s revolt, then knight one of them |
| Epicrate | 3 | Win his trial or break him out; do not send Tarcus if breaking him out |
| Edith | 3 | Ask Countess Medea about a local knight who knows dragons and spells |
| Victoria | 3 | Ask if a knight of her caliber would join, then clear her trials |
| Gothild | 3 | Send a high-Wits knight on Suspect Interrogations until Victoria is implicated |
| Ari | 3 | During the Basalt Isles succession audience, speak with the merchant guilds (25 funds) |
| Rufus | 3 | With The Wolf on your roster, finish the Groveshire curse-removal quest |
Best knights to send on each quest
Sending a knight who is under-leveled for a quest carries a penalty, while an over-leveled knight earns bonus rewards. Some quests also hide a special outcome behind a stat threshold, and hitting that number produces a completely different result. Match the knight to the requirement below.
| Quest | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Repel the dragon | Magic 14+ |
| Suspects interrogations | Wits 12+ |
| In search of the gem | Luck 11+ |
| The lich will not return | Magic 10+ |
| A Thesis Thief | Magic 10+ |
| The Vampire of Clovermont | Charisma 10+ |
| Animal bodyguards | Strength 10+ |
| Diplomatic Meeting | Wits 8+ |
| Slugs invasion | Wits 8+ |
| Hydra Hunt | Magic 7+ |
| The Possessed Reverend | Magic 7+ |
| The False Bank | Wits 3 or lower |
The False Bank flips the usual logic. It only fires when your knight is dim enough, so send Goberto (0 Wits), Dulahan (0), Daguez (0), or Gwendan (3). Picking your smartest knight is the mistake here.

An unexpected outcome is not automatically a good one. Angelica loves animals, so a quest about killing critters can make her the worst possible pick or the perfect one depending on whether you actually want the animals dead.
Keeping knights from resigning
Affinity runs from −10 to +10 and every knight starts at 0. Assigning quests they like and matching your sovereign style raises it, while disliked assignments drag it down. When affinity hits −7 a knight queues a resignation and leaves for good. Alwena and Ari are the only two who never resign.
Feeding a knight a favourite meal grants +1.5 affinity, which is usually enough to halt a slide before it reaches the resignation threshold. There are six dishes in total, and each knight likes a specific set.
| Knight | Favourite meals |
|---|---|
| Alwena | Brizhian Butter Shortbread, Crêpe |
| Angelica | Préfou, Crêpe |
| Ari | Brizhian Butter Shortbread, Crêpe |
| Arron | Crêpe, Brizhian Butter Shortbread |
| Brunhilda | Galette-Saucisse, Lion’s Taco |
| Childeric | Crêpe, Croque-Monsieur |
| Daguez | Crêpe, Galette-Saucisse, Préfou |
| Dulahan | All six dishes |
| Edith | Croque-Monsieur, Brizhian Butter Shortbread |
| Epicrate | Brizhian Butter Shortbread, Préfou |
| Gideon | Brizhian Butter Shortbread, Crêpe |
| Goberto | Lion’s Taco, Galette-Saucisse, Brizhian Butter Shortbread |
| Gothild | Croque-Monsieur, Brizhian Butter Shortbread |
| Gwendan | Crêpe, Croque-Monsieur |
| Ligia | Préfou, Crêpe |
| Oliver | Galette-Saucisse, Croque-Monsieur |
| Rufus | Galette-Saucisse, Croque-Monsieur |
| Silgur | Galette-Saucisse, Crêpe |
| Tarcus | Brizhian Butter Shortbread, Préfou |
| The Wolf | Galette-Saucisse, Croque-Monsieur |
| Ursula | Préfou, Lion’s Taco |
| Victoria | Croque-Monsieur, Préfou |
| Zolta | Crêpe, Lion’s Taco |
Permanent transformations
Several knights rewrite their own stat lines for the rest of a run once a story trigger fires. Goberto’s Almor armour, Arron’s dragon branches, and Ursula’s corruption all change the numbers permanently, so plan assignments around the version you end up with rather than the starting stats.
Oliver is the one recruit that resists reliable unlocking. Sparing your attacker in the opening is the agreed prerequisite, yet players who meet it still report never seeing him arrive past cycle 30, which points to a bug rather than a missed condition. If he does not show, there is no confirmed second trigger to force him in, so treat the roster as complete without him and lean on the knights you can actually seat.
