Star Wars Droid Tycoon: How the Weekly Mega Crate Mini Event Works

Droid Tycoon runs a small, repeating event loop on top of its weekend headliners. Two of those slots matter for progression: a DJ event on Tuesdays that pays out currency, and the Mega Crate Mini Event on Thursdays that doubles upgrade chips and drops a breakable crate in the middle of the map every half hour.

Quick answer: During the Mega Crate Mini Event on Thursdays, go to the central spawn area, equip your Pickaxe, and land hits on the crate before it breaks. Everyone who damages it receives Nova Crystals and a Stellar Blueprint.

Droid Tycoon weekly event schedule and rewards

The weekly rotation is short and predictable, which is what makes it worth planning around. Each slot pushes a different resource, so running both keeps credits and upgrade chips climbing at the same time.

These are separate from the weekend events, which introduce Iconic droids and apply the standard 2x Credits, 2x Upgrade Chips and 2x Flawless craft chance multipliers. The most recent of those was the D-O Event on August 29–30, 2026, with its re-run scheduled for September 5–6, 2026.

Where the Mega Crate spawns and how often

While the event is live, a large crate appears in the designated central area of the map on a 30-minute cycle. It is not hidden and it does not move. If you miss one, the next one is half an hour away, so there is no need to rush a spawn you cannot reach.

The in-game countdown panel tracks all of this for you. Alongside the Mega Crate Mini Event timer, the same display shows timers for the Next Mythic Blueprint, Next Stellar Blueprint and Next Galactic Blueprint, plus the countdown to whichever weekend event is queued up.

How to break the Mega Crate

Check the Mega Crate Mini Event countdown before heading out. The crate only exists while the event is running, so hitting the spawn point outside that window does nothing.
Switch to your Pickaxe. Blasters from the Armory, including the DL-44, are not what the crate is meant to be broken with, so do not waste time swapping between weapon slots.

Get hits in before the crate is destroyed. Credit is based on damage dealt, so anyone in the area who contributes gets paid, not just whoever lands the final blow.
Collect the payout. A destroyed crate hands out Nova Crystals and a Stellar Blueprint, which can roll as Legendary or Mythic.

You will know it worked when the crystals and the blueprint land in your inventory as the crate breaks. If nothing arrives, the usual causes are simple: you turned up after the crate was already gone, or you never actually damaged it.

Using both weekly events to reach Rebirth 35 faster

The two slots complement each other. Tuesday’s DJ event fills the credit pool that later Rebirths demand, and Thursday’s double upgrade chips cover the other half of the cost curve. Playing only one of them leaves you short on one resource while sitting on a pile of the other.

Stack that with the crate drops and the maths gets friendlier. Nova Crystals from the Mega Crate feed the Nova Shop, and the Stellar Blueprints give you higher-tier droids to craft without waiting on Sandcrawler stock. Working both days is what makes Rebirth 35 a realistic target rather than a long grind.

Tip: keep an eye on the Sandcrawler notifications while you wait between crate spawns. Beskar, Diamond, Stellar and Rainbow droids show up there and are worth grabbing on a double-chip day.
