Casualties of War is one of the ten named campaign missions in Star Wars Zero Company, and plenty of players stall out before the first shot is fired — not because the fight is hard, but because the mission is easy to miss on the Holotable. Several planets stack their entries in the same corner of the mission list, and the Bespin slot ends up sitting underneath them.
Quick answer: Open the Holotable in the Den, switch to the Missions tab, then scroll down and press left (D-pad left, or the A key on keyboard) past the Serolonis entries to highlight Bespin. Casualties of War is the mission listed there — select it, open the Briefing, and launch.
Why Casualties of War does not appear on the Holotable at first
The Holotable lists every Tactical Mission and Operation available for the current Cycle, grouped by planet. When a planet has more than one job attached to it — Serolonis frequently does, with entries like Dead Metal and High Noon sitting together — those cards overlap on screen and visually bury the planet listed after them. Bespin is the one that gets covered.
Nothing is locked and nothing is missing. The mission is selectable the whole time; the cursor just has to travel through the stacked entries to reach it.

A key if you are on keyboard. That input pushes the cursor off the stacked Serolonis entries and onto Bespin, which reveals Casualties of War.
How to confirm you picked the right mission
You have the correct entry when the Holotable prompt reads Launch Mission: Casualties of War and the panel shows Bespin with a single Operator requirement. The reward line is the other giveaway — no other job on that screen pays out the same combination.
| Detail | What the Holotable shows |
|---|---|
| Planet | Bespin |
| Chapter context | The Umbaran Connection |
| Squad requirement | 1 Operator |
| Rewards | +2,000 Credits, Droid Popper, +2 Contacts |
| Cycle cost | One Tactical Mission per Cycle; launching it advances time |
| Unlocks after completion | Sky High |
Reasons the mission does not show up
- You are only cycling through the planets that sit on top of the list. Lothal and Serolonis take the visual priority; Bespin needs the extra left input to surface.
- You are on the Operations tab instead of Missions. Operations are the non-combat assignments that cost Intel, and Casualties of War is not among them.
- The Cycle timer ran out. Tactical Missions and Operations are time-limited, and anything left too long disappears for good in that playthrough.
Note: only one Tactical Mission can be run per Cycle, and completing it moves time forward. Handle anything you still want to do in the Den — healing injuries, conversations, recruitment — before you hit launch.
What to expect once the mission starts
Casualties of War brings Anakin Skywalker into Zero Company’s story, and it does not end with the first large engagement. What starts as a situation around prisoners and political friction escalates when the Infinite Coil turns on the station itself, and the route pushes down toward the reactor.
The common mistake is clearing the upper level and treating the job as finished. When the objective marker updates, follow it rather than spending turns tidying up the area you are leaving behind.
If Bespin still refuses to highlight, back out of the Holotable entirely and open it again before scrolling — the tab resets to the top of the planet list, which makes the down-then-left input far easier to land cleanly.
