Stardew Valley Emily: Gifts, Schedule, Heart Events, and Marriage

Everything you need to befriend, date, and marry Pelican Town's blue-haired seamstress.

Everything you need to befriend, date, and marry Pelican Town’s blue-haired seamstress.

Emily is one of the twelve marriage candidates in Stardew Valley, living at 2 Willow Lane in Pelican Town with her sister Haley. She works most evenings behind the bar at the Stardrop Saloon, and she spends her free time sewing her own clothes, meditating, and collecting crystals. If you want to raise her hearts quickly and eventually propose, the path comes down to the right gifts, knowing where she’ll be, and triggering her heart events in order.

Quick answer: Reach 8 hearts and give Emily a Bouquet to start dating, then reach 10 hearts, upgrade your farmhouse, and give her a Mermaid’s Pendant to propose. Give Amethyst, Cloth, Wool, or any gem on her birthday (Spring 27) for the fastest friendship gains.

Best gifts for Emily (loved, liked, and what to avoid)

Emily’s tastes line up with her hobbies. She loves gems she can use in crystal work and fabrics she can sew with, so cloth, wool, and most mined stones are reliable picks. She is not a fan of fish dishes, so steer clear of anything seafood-based.

ReactionItems
Loved (+80)Amethyst, Aquamarine, Cloth, Emerald, Jade, Ruby, Topaz, Survival Burger, Wool, plus all universal loves
Liked (+45)Daffodil, Quartz, most universal likes (except Fish Taco, Fried Eel, Ice Cream, Maki Roll, Rice Pudding, Salmon Dinner, Spicy Eel, and Sashimi)
Disliked (−20)Fried Eel, Spicy Eel, Ice Cream, Rice Pudding, Salmonberry, universal dislikes
Hated (−40)Fish Taco, Maki Roll, Salmon Dinner, Sashimi, Holly, universal hates

You can give her up to two gifts per week, plus one on her birthday. Cloth is made from Wool on a Loom, and Wool comes from sheep or rabbits, so a small flock makes her one of the cheaper villagers to keep happy.

Emily’s birthday is Spring 27

Gifts handed over on Spring 27 carry an 8x multiplier. A loved item that day is worth +640 friendship points instead of the usual +80, so plan to hold an Amethyst, a piece of Cloth, or a stronger universal love for that date. A Prismatic Shard or Rabbit’s Foot works too if you happen to have one early.

Emily’s schedule and where to find her

Emily’s routine stays nearly the same across all four seasons. She wakes up at home, drifts to her living room around noon, and heads to the Saloon in the mid-afternoon. The easiest time to catch her for a gift or a chat is during her evening shift at the Stardrop Saloon.

Day or conditionWhere she goes
Regular dayBedroom at 9 AM, living room at noon, Stardrop Saloon at 3:30 PM, home at 12:30 AM
TuesdayAerobics class at Pierre’s General Store at 10 AM, then Saloon at 4 PM
Friday (Community Center restored)Crafts Room at the Community Center at 10 AM, Saloon at 3:30 PM
RainSame as a regular day, finishing at the Saloon
Green Rain (Year 1)Inside the Stardrop Saloon all day
Fall 15 (bus restored)Leaves at 10:30 AM to visit Sandy in the Calico Desert for her birthday
Winter 11Annual checkup at Harvey’s Clinic, then works the Saloon at 4 PM
Winter 15Attends the Night Market starting at 2:30 PM

Once the Beach Resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, Emily may spend a random day there, returning home to bed after she leaves the island at 6 PM. She never goes to the resort on Fall 15, on festival days, or on her clinic checkup day.

Emily’s heart events

Heart events unlock at set friendship levels, and most require you to be in a specific place. Trigger them in order, since the eight-heart confession depends on completing the earlier six-heart scene first.

HeartsHow to triggerWhat happens
TwoEnter Emily’s house while she’s homeYou step into her dream; she decides your destinies are linked
ThreeAutomatic mailYou receive the Salad recipe
FourVisit town on a sunny day outside WinterEmily gains a pet parrot
SixEnter Emily’s house while she’s homeEmily dances for you; show appreciation for a friendship boost
SevenAutomatic mailYou receive the Red Plate recipe
EightRead her letter, then go to the Mayor’s ManorThe Fashion Therapy demonstration, where she confesses
TenMeet her in the Secret Woods after 10 PMA camping trip together
FourteenLeave the farmhouse before 8:30 AMGather 200 Fiber for Emily; she gifts you an outfit three days later

The ten-heart Secret Woods event only fires after you have cleared the hardwood stumps and can reach the woods. If you romance several bachelorettes at once and trigger every ten-heart scene, walking into Emily and Haley’s house can set off a group event where the women confront you and stop talking to you for a week.

How to marry Emily

Build her friendship to 8 hearts through daily talks, festival appearances, and loved gifts. Birthday gifting on Spring 27 is the fastest single boost you can get.
Upgrade your farmhouse at least once. The first upgrade adds the kitchen and is required before you can move past friendship into romance.
Buy a Bouquet from Pierre’s General Store and give it to Emily at 8 hearts. This officially starts dating and lets her hearts climb above the friendship cap.
Continue gifting and talking until you reach 10 hearts, working through her heart events along the way.
Purchase a Mermaid’s Pendant from the Old Mariner, who appears at the beach on rainy days once you have access to the tide pools east of the beach. Give the pendant to Emily to propose.

After you hand over the pendant, the wedding takes place a few days later and Emily moves into your farmhouse. You’ll know it worked when the ceremony plays out and she sets up her own room beside the bedroom, complete with her pet parrot and a small crystal garden for meditating.

Emily as a spouse

Married Emily keeps her cheerful, creative personality and pitches in around the farm. She may water crops or repair fences, and she often hands you a gift depending on the weather and her mood. On clear days you can find her outside behind the house, meditating with her crystals.

Rainy nightsRice Pudding, Blueberry Tart, Cookie, Chocolate Cake
Stay-inside daysCloth, Wool, Duck Feather, Refined Quartz, Bean Hotpot, Coffee, Omni Geode

Emily’s favorite movies and snacks

Inviting Emily to the Movie Theater is another steady way to raise friendship. She loves one specific film paired with the right concession, so match both for the biggest boost.

ReactionMovieConcession
LoveThe Miracle At Coldstar RanchKale Smoothie, Stardrop Sorbet
DislikeIt Howls In The Rain, MysteriumBlack licorice, fries, JojaCola, JojaCorn, nachos, pizza, popcorn, salted peanuts

The Clint situation

Clint has an obvious crush on Emily but is too shy to act on it, and the two will never end up together since bachelors and bachelorettes can’t marry each other. There’s one timing quirk worth knowing. If you push Emily to 8 hearts before getting Clint to 6 hearts, you’ll block Clint’s six-heart event, because he reacts to seeing you and Emily together.

Whether you keep Emily as a friend or court her toward the altar, her storyline leans warm and upbeat, with dream sequences and crystal motifs running through every event. Stock up on Cloth and gems, mark Spring 27 on your calendar, and the rest of her hearts come together quickly.
