Dr. Scramble has taken over Steal an Egg with a timed invasion. His drones drop onto the track every half hour, they carry a currency called Samples, and clearing them quickly is the only way to afford the event’s headline pets and repair the Stolen Experiment Vault before everything closes. The loop is simple: destroy drones, bank Samples, spend them, and finish the vault quest.
Quick answer: Every 30 minutes, defeat the highest-HP Dr. Scramble drones from Abyss Ocean onward, skip the 3 HP drones, spend Samples in the Experiment Shop, and complete the vault for the limited Scrambler bat.
Event window and where drones spawn
A fresh drone wave lands on the map every 30 minutes, on the hour and the half-hour, and stays for roughly four to five minutes. That window is short, so equip your bat before the countdown hits zero instead of fumbling through menus once the drones are already spawning.
Drones appear in the Abyss Ocean biome and in every area past it, including Prehistoric, Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, Titan Temple, and Angels. Sitting in the earlier zones during a wave burns the timer for nothing, so move toward Abyss Ocean the moment the experiment begins.
Drone types and Sample values
Not every drone pays the same. Each bat swing deals 1 damage, so a drone’s HP tells you how many hits it takes and, roughly, how much it drops. The tougher, gun-carrying drones are the priority targets, and the weak 3 HP drones are not worth your time.

The 10 HP drone is the standout, even after being trimmed from 215 to 165 Samples. The 3 HP drone was bumped from 10 up to about 22, but it still pays far too little to justify the swings.
Fastest way to farm Samples
The whole game during a wave is spending your swings only on the drones that pay. Chain the following in order and you will clear far more high-value targets than players who run the whole track blindly.
Drone spawns are instanced per player, so what you see on the track is yours to hit. Another player swinging nearby is working their own set of targets and is not stealing yours.
A nighttime barrier tends to lock players out of the track about 10 seconds before the official timer runs out, so bank your last kills early rather than pushing to the final second.
You will know a run paid off by reopening the Experiment Shop and checking the Samples counter. If the total jumped, the drops registered.
Experiment Shop items and buy order
Bring the Samples to Dr. Scramble’s Experiment Shop, which sits beneath the pet menu. Six items are available there, but the event’s conclusion removes only the two eggs permanently.

Prioritize the Experiment #001 Egg. Each player can have only one, its price is easily the highest, and it serves as the event’s featured pet. Put it in your farm pen immediately after buying it, since incubation takes roughly three and a half hours.
Each Nibbles #013 egg costs much less and takes around 10 to 15 minutes to hatch, allowing all three to pass through the pen in quick succession. Leave the three boosters until last, purchasing them only for periods when you will be online to benefit from them.
Using the Scrambled Mutation
Scrambled is used on an unhatched egg in your pen, but its mutation attempt is not guaranteed. The item is consumed even on a failure, so plant a valid egg before spending the 475 Samples, and be prepared to purchase multiple copies when targeting one particular egg.
Stolen Experiment Vault and the Scrambler bat
The damaged vault needs five missing parts repaired, and completing that repair awards the limited Scrambler bat. Two parts are set pickups in the world, while drones randomly provide the other three. Because none of these objectives has a map marker, you must search for them on foot.

The parts use two independent counters. Collect the two fixed ones first; the 30-minute timer does not affect them.

The Volcano pickup is the troublesome one. It is higher than a normal jump can reach, so get there by being launched by another player, using a taller avatar, or scaling the terrain from behind. Drone Parts come down to chance, and completing all three can take several waves; while collecting Samples, attack every drone you can reach.
Claim the Scrambler bat
After collecting all five, go back to the Abyss Ocean cave and speak with Nibbles once more. Open the Stolen Experiment Vault before selecting Claim and verify Lost Parts 2/2 and Drone Parts 3/3. A message then confirms the vault opened, and the limited Scrambler bat appears in your inventory as proof of completion.
Some players find that swinging the green vault bat snaps their avatar back to the standard wooden bat mid-fight, so watch which weapon is actually equipped while farming.
While still in the cave, aim the camera upward to locate the wall vent near Nibbles. Jump through it to enter a small secret workshop modeled after Brockdoile, suggesting Dr. Scramble is preparing his next move.
Event deadline and what comes next
The Dr. Scramble event ends on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Nothing suggests leftover Samples or unbought items carry over, so finish the Experiment #001 purchase and all five vault parts before the clock runs out. After that, the shop and vault have nothing left to give.
Dr. Scramble’s Revenge will run from September 26 at 3:00 PM UTC until September 27 at 4:00 PM UTC, and Ben will be the target. Information on that event’s boss, quest, and rewards has not been released, so treat its ending as the deadline for finishing all content from the current event.
