Money in Steal an Egg has exactly one real source: the pets sitting in your pen. Every equipped pet prints a fixed amount of cash per second, all the time, whether you are running a biome, standing on the treadmill, or logged out. Everything else in the game — speed, trails, pen levels, fusing — exists to get better pets into more slots.
Quick answer: Take an egg, reach the Safe Zone, put it in your pen, hatch it, and choose Equip Best. Each equipped pet adds its $/s to your earnings, while extra slots increase the money you make.
How cash per second works in Steal an Egg
Every pet carries a money-per-second value shown as $/s. Equip it in your pen and that number is added to a running total that pays out continuously. Rarity is a rough signal, but the number on the card is the only thing that matters — a Common pet with good size and a mutation can outearn something with a flashier rarity tag.
| Pet | Rarity | Income |
|---|---|---|
| Catfish | Uncommon | $24/s |
| Camel | — | $77/s |
| Crocodile | Epic | $367/s |
| Brr Ber Patapim | — | $4K/s |
The gap between a starter dog at $2–$5/s and an Epic Crocodile at $367/s is the whole game in one comparison. Income compounds into upgrades, upgrades buy speed, and speed unlocks eggs that pay orders of magnitude more. A loaded pen also banks money while you are gone — a well-built base will show something like You earn $16M/Day offline! waiting for you on login.

Add to Google Preferences →The egg run: steal, escape, hatch, equip
This is the loop you will repeat for the entire game. It never changes; only the biome and the payout do.

A failed run pays nothing. Getting caught launches you back toward the start and the egg goes back to its nest, so a safe egg you can definitely carry home is worth more than a big one you lose halfway.
Biome speed requirements and the best pet in each zone
Speed is the gate on everything. Each biome has a recommended speed, and the payouts scale far faster than the requirements suggest. The Index tracks 86 pets across 10 biomes, but each zone has one standout earner worth farming for.
| Biome | Speed | Top pet | Income |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forest | None | Brr Brr Patapim | $1,800/s |
| Lake | 900 | Leviathan | $220K/s |
| Desert | 10K | Royal Sphinx | $280K/s |
| Jungle | 40K | King Snake | $3.5M/s |
| Snow | 170K | Ice Dragon | $65M/s |
| Volcano | 700K | Lava Dragon | $100M/s |
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | El Maja | $130M/s |
| Prehistoric | 17M | Mosasaurus | $180M/s |
| Cosmic | 700M | Unicorn | $1B/s |
| Cherry Blossom | — | Kitsune | $1.8B/s |
Kitsune, the Divine pet from Cherry Blossom, is the strongest confirmed earner in the Index and by itself outpaces the top pet of every other biome combined. Long before that is realistic, Desert and Jungle are the practical targets: Royal Sphinx and King Snake both clear six figures per second without needing Eternal or Divine luck.
The point where you are caught identifies the needed upgrade. If it happens within sight of your base, one more trail tier or a brief treadmill session should be enough. Getting caught halfway along the track shows that the zone is beyond your current range, so train properly before trying again.
Train speed with the treadmill and Trail Shop
The treadmill is your base’s speed engine, and it is the first upgrade worth buying at $1,000. Each step adds speed, and higher treadmill levels make every minute of training worth more — Level 2 runs $15K. The machine has a phone screen attached that cycles short-form clips, which exists purely so grinding speed while AFK is less unbearable.
Trails stack multipliers on top of that training, and they are speed items rather than cosmetics. The cheap tiers pay for themselves almost immediately.
- Grey Trail — $100 for x1.5 speed
- Green Trail — $5K for x2 speed
- Blue Trail — $75K for x2.5 speed
- Higher tiers scale further and get expensive fast

Train past a biome’s listed requirement before attempting its largest eggs. The recommended speed assumes you are running empty, and the heaviest eggs eat into that margin the moment you lift one.
Upgrade your pen to unlock more equip slots
Your pen level caps how many pets can earn at once, which makes it a hard ceiling on income no matter how good your pets are. Early levels are cheap — Level 2 costs $1K, Level 3 jumps to $1M — while late-game slots get brutal, with a single +1 EQUIP upgrade priced at $75M. A Successfully upgraded your base! message confirms the extra capacity landed.
Fill every slot immediately, even with junk. An empty slot earns nothing, and a $5/s Raccoon holding a spot still beats air until something better hatches. Then swap out your weakest earner the moment a stronger pet comes out of an egg.
Raise pet income with size, mutations, and the Fuse Machine
Two pets with the same name can pay wildly different amounts, so always read the $/s value after a hatch instead of trusting the rarity label.
- Size: a larger copy of a species earns noticeably more than a small one.
- Mutations: rare rolls such as Silver or Gold push income above the species’ standard rate.
- Fusing: the Fuse Machine turns three identical pets into one upgraded version that outearns all three originals.
Fuse duplicates, not your active earners. Feeding three equipped pets into the machine can temporarily tank your income, so check what your cash per second looks like without them before pulling the trigger. Mutation consumables are also sold in the Boss Shop for Boss Tokens, which drop from Rift bosses like the Abyss Overlord.

Free rewards, the Index, and Secret Eggs
The Index, located on the screen’s left, tracks each pet you find and provides progress rewards. Check it after every hatch, then select Claim All for cash, speed, and traps; early rewards may include amounts such as +$100 and +420 speed, a substantial boost during the first ten minutes.
The yellow Free gift box is the other freebie. Liking the experience, favoriting it and joining the community pays out a one-off +10,000 speed, which skips a large chunk of early treadmill grinding.

Eggs reset roughly every five minutes, announced with ALL EGG RESET!, and each reset can roll a Secret Egg. Chat calls these out with lines like “A Secret Kraken Egg spawned in Abyss Ocean” or “A Secret TRex Egg spawned in Prehistoric.” They hold some of the highest-paying pets in the game, but every fast player on the server sees the same message. Contest one only if you are among the quickest and it is genuinely reachable; otherwise keep farming an egg you can definitely bring home.
There are no redeemable codes in Steal an Egg, and the game has no code redemption feature. Free speed comes from the gift box and the Index, not a code box.
Infinite money glitches that do not work
A steady stream of clips promises free money or invincible egg runs. Most of them fall apart under testing, and two in particular are worth ignoring.
- Disabling your internet to freeze guards: the character locks up and the session drops with Error Code 277, or the egg resets when you reconnect. No egg, no money.
- Slow Mode to freeze bosses: bosses keep tracking and catching you, in Cosmic and Cherry Blossom alike.
Movement tricks fare better because they are just play. Bouncing diagonally between the track walls carries momentum on the way home with a giant egg, zigzagging makes boss swings in zones like Snow easier to dodge, and dropping and re-grabbing an egg at biome gates resets a boss’s pursuit range enough to steal from a zone you are under-leveled for. The secret waterfall area also drops you at the far end of the map if you leave it right as the day cycle resets.

The mundane option beats all of it. Sorting the server list by fewest players gets you near-empty lobbies full of AFK bases, which means uncontested eggs and no one intercepting your run. Bear traps placed along the central path and the wall routes do the reverse, catching other players carrying rare eggs.
None of this is complicated, it is just relentless. Steal an egg you can actually escape with, hatch it, press Equip Best, and put the money straight back into pen slots and speed. Improve all three together — pet quality, capacity, and how far down the track you can run — and the cash per second climbs on its own while you go get the next egg.
