Mutations are the fastest way to turn an ordinary pet into a high earner in Steal An Egg. Each mutation stamps a fixed multiplier onto a pet’s Cash-per-second, so a mutated critter both generates more money and sells for more than a plain version. There are seven mutations in the game right now, and their value gaps are wide enough that knowing which to chase changes how you spend your time.
Quick answer: Rainbow (3.5x) is the strongest mutation, with Parasite (3x) close behind. The full order by multiplier is Rainbow 3.5x, Parasite 3x, Fractured 2.75x, Spirit Bloom 2.5x, Golden 2x, Bloom 1.25x, Silver 1.2x.

This ranking reflects the current multipliers as of September 2026. Placements are ordered strictly by the value multiplier each mutation applies, with obtainability noted separately below since some high-multiplier mutations are harder to farm than their tier suggests.
Why the top mutations sit where they do
Rainbow leads the list because it carries the highest multiplier of any mutation and is the rarest of the three that can roll naturally on wild eggs. Parasite sits alongside it in S tier at 3x, but it never appears through normal hatching, which makes it a deliberate event chase rather than a lucky find.
Fractured earns A tier on its 2.75x multiplier. It cannot roll naturally either, so getting one means spending Boss Tokens on Mutation Consumables and accepting a low per-use chance. Spirit Bloom and Golden anchor B tier at 2.5x and 2x, and while Golden is easy to farm, Spirit Bloom is a rare Sakura Incubator result. Bloom and Silver fill C tier with small but reliable bumps that are worth keeping on early pets until something stronger comes along.
How mutations change a pet’s income
A mutation multiplies the Cash-per-second a pet already earns, and that base figure is driven by the pet’s weight. Two pets carrying the exact same mutation will post different income numbers, and the heavier one always earns more. Because of this, the best return comes from landing a high mutation on a heavy, high-base pet rather than on a lightweight early critter.

Silver, Golden, and Rainbow are the common set. They can show up on random eggs across the map or on pets pushed through the Fuse Machine. Bloom and Spirit Bloom come only from the Sakura Incubator once you submit an egg and feed the machine Sakura Crystals. Parasite arrives through the Hungry Frog feeding event, and Fractured is the one you apply yourself using a consumable.
How to apply the Fractured mutation with a Mutation Consumable
Mutation Consumables are sold in the Boss Shop for 400 Boss Tokens each. You earn Boss Tokens by defeating the Abyss Overlord during the Rift Event, and those tokens also buy the 2x Cash Booster, 1.25x Speed, and 2x Treadmill Booster. Once you own a consumable, applying it takes three actions.
Because the roll is not guaranteed, expect to buy several consumables before one lands. Stock up on Boss Tokens during the Rift Event if Fractured is your goal.
Developers adjust these multipliers over time, so a mutation’s exact bump can shift with future updates. For now, prioritize Rainbow when you spot a shimmering wild egg, farm Golden freely through the Fuse Machine, and save your heaviest, highest-income pets for whenever a Rainbow, Parasite, or Fractured roll finally comes through.
