The Police Raid update is the next big content drop headed to Storage Hunters: Open World, and the prep work for it is not complicated. Two stats decide how well positioned you are when it goes live: your net worth and your luck percentage. Everything worth doing right now feeds one of those two numbers.
Quick answer: Max the Celebrity Customers shop upgrade, run an Alien Customer Potion with an offer-boosting accessory equipped and staff auto-accept set to 100%–200% to spike net worth. Then fill out the item Index, park highly mutated high-star items in the Shopping Mall Museum, clear the Lucky Beach and Business Bay questlines, and bank Luck Drink 2 and Luck Drink 3 with gems.
Net worth prep: Celebrity Customers and the Alien Customer Potion
Net worth is the gate that unlocks higher-tier auction areas, so it is the first thing to push. The fastest legitimate spike comes from selling stock while an Alien Customer Potion is running, because alien buyers pay far above the normal offer range.

Add to Google Preferences →Alien Customer Potion mechanics: what aliens will buy
There is a persistent misconception that alien customers only want mutated items. That is not how the potion works. While an Alien Customer Potion is active, aliens will buy anything on your shelves, mutated or not.
That changes what you should be holding onto. You do not need to hoard only rare mutations for the window. Any high-value inventory you have sitting around is fair game, which makes clearing out a backlog of ordinary stock a genuinely efficient use of the timer.
Luck prep: Index, Museum, and questline rewards
Luck drives mutation rolls and rare item odds in auctions, and unlike net worth it is built from several small permanent sources that stack. Get the passive ones locked in first, because they keep paying out long after the update arrives.

| Luck source | What it does |
|---|---|
| Item Index | Filling out entries grants a passive luck increase that never expires. |
| Shopping Mall Museum | Displaying highly mutated, high-star items adds passive Museum Luck. |
| Lucky Beach questline | Farms Luck 2 and Luck 3 potions. |
| Business Bay questline | Second farming route for Luck 2 and Luck 3 potions. |
| Bobby and Terry questline | Additional rewards on completion. |
| Luck Drinks (energy drink shop) | Temporary percentage boosts bought with gems. |
The Museum is the most underused of these. It is not a display case for sentimental finds — the higher the mutation quality and star rating of what you place there, the higher the passive Museum Luck it feeds back to you. Put your best pieces in and leave them.
Luck Drink prices and boosts
Luck Drinks are bought with gems at the energy drink shop, and they are the one luck source you can turn on at will the moment the update opens. Buying in advance matters, because you do not want to be farming gems while a limited event is running.

| Drink | Price | Luck |
|---|---|---|
| Luck Drink 1 | 35 Gems | +50% |
| Luck Drink 2 | 99 Gems | +150% |
| Luck Drink 3 | 199 Gems | +300% |
Tip: Luck Drink 3 is the best value per gem of the three, but Luck Drink 2 and 3 also drop for free from the Lucky Beach and Business Bay questlines. Run those quests first and spend gems only to top up what farming did not cover.
How to confirm your setup is working
You do not have to guess whether the prep took. Each piece reports back in the UI.
- Alien Customer Potion: alien customers begin appearing in your shop and making offers on non-mutated stock. If only normal customers walk in, the potion is not active.
- Offer accessory: the accessory shows as equipped in your inventory loadout, and incoming offer percentages sit visibly higher than your baseline.
- Auto-accept: staff stop selling instantly and start holding items until an offer clears the threshold you set.
- Museum: a placed item displays its Museum Luck contribution as a percentage.
- Net worth: the figure climbs after each sale rather than after each auction win, since unsold stock is not the same as banked value.
Why a potion run underperforms
There are only a handful of reasons the net worth spike fails to land. The auto-accept threshold left at a low value is the most common, because assistants will clear inflated offers at a bad rate before you notice. Empty or half-stocked shelves are the second, since the potion timer runs whether or not you have anything to sell.
The other two are setup errors. Drinking the potion before equipping the Desert Hood or Race Valk wastes part of the window on unboosted offers, and running the potion without Celebrity Customers maxed removes the multiplier the whole strategy is built around.
No official release date or time for the Police Raid update has been confirmed yet, which is exactly why the passive work matters more than the timed boosts. Index entries, Museum placements, and completed questlines hold their value indefinitely. Save the potions and the Luck Drinks for the moment the update actually goes live.
