Candy is the limited Halloween currency in Storage Hunters: Open World. It is separate from your Money and Diamonds, and it pays for Halloween Garage entries, Halloween Market rolls, the Gravedigger Shovel and Candy Bag upgrades. Recent nerfs mean no single activity pays well by itself. Each source has its own NPC, timer and cap, so the fastest income comes from chaining all of them across one in-game day while a 2x Candy Potion is running.
Quick answer: Get the Shovel from Tork for 100 Candy. When the in-game clock shows 2–3 PM, use a 2x Candy Potion and complete Defend the town; dig graves from 5–7 PM, then visit houses with their lights on for trick-or-treating until 6 AM.
The event ends on 31 October 2026 at 7 PM UTC. Once it concludes, Candy, the features that spend it and the Halloween-exclusive items are expected to be unavailable. You can enter the game through its Roblox page.
Storage Hunters Candy sources, payouts and limits
All the Candy NPCs live in the Halloween Area, also called the Haunted Village. The only exception is shop tips, which come from your own store.

| Defend the town | Grave Digger, near the church truck | 100 Candy for 5 waves | Once every 30 min (real time) |
| Zombie bodies | Grave Digger | 10 Candy per body | 250 Candy per 30 min |
| Grave digging | Haunted Village graveyard | Random Candy, potions | Needs the Shovel |
| Trick-or-treating | Lit houses at night | About 6 Candy per treat (free bag) | 7 PM–6 AM in-game |
| Headless Horseman jobs | Halloween Area | Candy, Diamonds, prizes | 30 quests |

If you’d rather pay than farm, the Halloween Market also has a Buy Candy button.

You’ll need a handful of tools for this route. Pick them up before the in-game afternoon, since the schedule leaves no time for a shopping stop once you begin.
- Shovel: sold by Tork, the skeleton NPC in the graveyard, for 100 Candy.
- Candy Bag: the Witch, beside the Haunted Village building, hands out a free Paper Candy Bag.
- A gun: Back Alley auctions are a dependable place to find one. Bring it along for Zombies and Defend the town.
- Energy Drink duration accessories: target roughly 25% at the start, about 50% in the middle, and 100% or higher later on.
- Transport: a vehicle with storage for hauling bodies and a hoverboard for moving between graves and houses.
Buy the Shovel first; it’s the purchase to prioritize. Graves are the sole way to farm the 2x Candy Potion, which doubles Candy earned from every source for 15 minutes. They can also yield the Halloween Luck Potion, granting 50% luck in Halloween auctions. Duration accessories extend these two potions as well as your Luck drinks, letting them cover more of the route.
Keep any 2x Candy Potions found while digging until you can use them for the entire route, rather than consuming them immediately.
Upgrade your bag through the Witch’s “I’d like a better bag” option. Each tier costs Candy and adds a flat bonus to every treat.
| Bag | Extra Candy per treat |
|---|---|
| Paper Candy Bag (free) | None (about 6 base) |
| Paper Ghost Bag | +4 |
| Ghost Sack | +8 |
| Pumpkin Bag | +12 |
| Cauldron Bag | +16 |
For the highest Candy return per treat, get the Cauldron Bag before setting out for a long night.
Fastest Candy routine by in-game time
This route revolves around the trick-or-treat hours: use the afternoon for Zombies and graves, then spend the night visiting houses. Until the event ends, nights are three times longer than usual, making the day’s final stretch the most rewarding.
Using a potion through a complete cycle of defense, grave digging and trick-or-treating has brought in about 2,307 Candy over one in-game day. That’s enough for more than eleven Halloween Market rolls.
How each Candy source works
Defend the town and zombie bodies
Defend the town consists of five zombie waves. Beat them all to earn 100 Candy; you can launch another round after 30 minutes of real time. The P90’s large magazine and the RPG’s splash damage make either a quick choice for clearing waves. Generally, using a weapon that fires faster makes the event easier.
Bodies are a separate payout. Zombies also roam the map at night, and every body you carry back is worth 10 Candy from the Grave Digger. The 250-Candy cap applies to payouts, not bodies. Once you hit it, he stops paying and asks you to return in 30 minutes. Vehicle storage makes it easy to haul a full wave back in one trip.
A body on the ground vanishes after 10 minutes. If you die during a wave, you will usually lose any bodies you were carrying.
Grave digging
Candy drops from graves in random quantities, with Lucky Digs yielding higher amounts. You may also find Halloween Luck drinks or the rare 2x Candy Potion. Graves you dig come back after a few minutes, so keep circling the yard rather than staying in one place. A grave worth 16 Candy gives 32 with the potion running. If your Shovel goes missing, use “I lost my shovel” in Tork’s menu to get a replacement at no cost.
Trick-or-treating
The in-game trick-or-treat period lasts from 7 PM until 6 AM. Visit only houses with lit windows glowing orange and a Trick or Treat board by the door. Knocking turns a house dark; because dark houses are on cooldown, move on to the next one. Treats may include drinks, for example Luck Drink 1 or Halloween Luck drinks.
Some doors give you a “trick” instead, launching you backward and reducing luck by -5% for a few minutes. A string of these can hurt your auction luck. Keep your inventory full to reduce the chance of receiving spider items instead of Candy.
Headless Horseman jobs
You’ll find the Headless Horseman in the Halloween Area, near the church and toward the Lost and Found Box. He offers 30 Halloween jobs that pay Candy, Diamonds and other prizes, and each one also advances the Halloween Index. Wins in higher Halloween Garages count toward his jobs for the lower ones, so check your active job before you bid.
Passive Candy tips from your General Store
Your store can bring in Candy while you complete the route. Put Halloween-mutated items on the shelves, then adjust Goober, your Shop Assistant, in the settings. The Auto-Accept Threshold can be set anywhere from -50% to +200%; choose -50% or 0% for immediate sales. A sale may produce a Candy tip, and an active 2x Candy Potion doubles that tip.
What Candy buys and what to buy first
| Purchase | Candy cost |
|---|---|
| Halloween Garage 1 entry | 10 |
| Halloween Garage 2 entry | 20 |
| Halloween Garage 3 entry | 30 |
| Halloween Garage 4 entry | 40 |
| Gravedigger Shovel | 100 |
| Halloween Market roll | 200 |
| Candy Bag upgrades | Varies by tier |
Garage entry only gets you in the door. The bid itself is still paid in cash, and you can enter any garage without clearing the cheaper ones first. Each Market roll grants one random item. The safest order is Shovel first, then a bag upgrade, then garage entries, with Market rolls last. Rolling early can leave you short of the 100 Candy you need for the Shovel, which also locks you out of potions.
How to confirm the Candy routine is paying out
- “+10 CANDY” and “ZOMBIE BOUNTY” pop-ups appear when zombies drop and when bodies are paid out.
- While the 2x Candy Potion is active, the amounts shown for grave yields are doubled.
- A lit house goes dark after one knock, which is your cue to move to the next door.
- After you hit the 250-Candy body cap, the Grave Digger tells you to return in 30 minutes.
If those signals show up on schedule, the routine is working. Repeat it every in-game day until the event closes on 31 October.
