Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Event Badge in Dead Rails

The Stranger Things: Tales from '85 crossover in Dead Rails runs as an interactive Watch Party inside the Roblox experience, with a recurring broadcast, six minigame rounds, and a limited-time badge tied to attendance. The collaboration ends on May 3, 2026, after which the badge, the '80s Train skin, and the Vineaconda UGC accessory all become unobtainable.

Quick answer: Join the Watch Party from the Dead Rails lobby and stay in the server until the episode ends. The badge is awarded automatically at the final scene.

What the badge unlocks

The Tales from '85 Event Badge is the gateway reward for the crossover. Earning it also flags your account for the '80s Train skin, which appears at your train station once you return to the main Dead Rails experience.

A separate UGC item, the Vineaconda accessory, requires a points threshold during the Watch Party minigames and a separate claim step in The Block.

How to join the Watch Party

Step 1: Launch Dead Rails and load into the main lobby. Look for the event NPC near the spawn area.

Step 2: Press the join button before the next session begins. The lobby shows a countdown that resets every three hours, so use it to time your entry.

Step 3: Accept the teleport. You will be moved to the event map, where a large screen at the back of the area plays the episode.

🔒
Tip: A private server cuts down on competition during player-versus-player rounds like Snowball Fight, which makes the 1,200-point Vineaconda threshold easier to clear.

Earning the badge

The badge fires at the very end of the broadcast, not at any checkpoint inside it. Leaving the server early, getting disconnected, or returning to the lobby before the credits roll cancels the award for that session.

You will see a standard Roblox badge notification on screen when it lands. If nothing pops up after the final scene, check your inventory on the badge page; if it is missing, rejoin the next broadcast and watch through to the end again.

Watch Party minigames and scoring

Minigame rounds break up the episode and feed into a running point total shown in the corner of the screen. You only need to finish the broadcast for the badge, but points matter if you want the Vineaconda.

MinigameHow to score
Burning VineacondasUse the flamethrower on vine clusters before time runs out.
Snow Shark AttacksDodge the moving spikes; mash the arrow keys to escape if grabbed.
Grab FoodPick up donuts, pudding pops, and other items spawning around the map.
Hop on Your BikeRide and perform tricks; double jump for a speed boost to chain more.
Don't Fall AsleepComplete the on-screen arrow sequence before the timer empties.
Snowball FightThrow snowballs at other players; aim for clusters for faster points.

Claiming the Vineaconda UGC

Hitting 1,200 points across the minigames during a single Watch Party qualifies your account for the Vineaconda. The item itself is not handed out inside Dead Rails. You claim it from The Block, a separate Roblox experience, starting at 12 PM EST on April 25, 2026. Copies are limited, so the claim window is effectively first-come during that release.

If you scored the points but cannot claim, confirm you also earned the Event Badge in the same session. The two requirements are linked, and the claim flow in The Block checks for both.

Why the badge does not always trigger

Most missed badges trace back to one of three issues. The award only fires for players still on the event server when the credits finish, so leaving early is the most common cause. A mid-broadcast disconnect counts the same way. Joining after the episode has already started usually still works for the badge as long as you remain through the ending, but a late join can cost you enough minigame rounds to miss the 1,200-point bar for the UGC.

Event window

The Stranger Things crossover closes on May 3, 2026. After that date, the Event Badge, '80s Train skin, and Vineaconda are removed from circulation and cannot be obtained, regardless of progress saved on your account.
