Conduit Crystal is one of the harder raw materials to track down in Subnautica 2, and it gates a chunk of mid-to-late progression, including the Bioscanner, Improved Fins, Advanced Battery, Entangled Power Cell, and Feedback Resonator. It only spawns in a single far-eastern region, usually as lone nodes tucked against rocks and walls, so most players end up making more than one trip before they have enough.

Where Conduit Crystal spawns
Conduit Crystal is locked to the far eastern alien region. Following the NoA coordinates eventually pulls you out into deeper, darker water with alien architecture and abandoned pioneer camps, well past the early shallows and wreck routes near the Lifepod.
The specific spawn zone is the cliffside terrain directly below the Karakorum Power Plant, looking down over the Angel Comb. Nodes cling to vertical rock walls, sit beside pillars, and occasionally rest on the seafloor near alien structures. They almost never appear in tight clusters — most deposits are single units, and one node yields 1 Conduit Crystal.
Two visual cues help spot them in the murk:
- Nodes occasionally get struck by lightning, briefly lighting up the surrounding rock.
- The crystal glows faintly green, but the formation often hides behind or beside terrain rather than sitting on open ground.

How to reach the area
Step 1: Progress the NoA coordinate chain until it routes you east of the Alien Ruins. The Conduit Crystal zone sits roughly 1,800 meters from the Lifepod, with the Angel Comb landmark below the Karakorum Power Plant cliffs.
Step 2: Pack supplies before leaving. Bring extra water and food, clear out clutter inventory, and top off your Tadpole's power cell. The round trip is long enough that running short mid-search is the most common failure point.
Step 3: Descend toward the cliffs above the Angel Comb. Crush depth becomes a concern for the Tadpole in this region, so be ready to leave the vehicle and continue with a Seaglide where needed.
Step 4: Sweep slowly along the cliff walls and rock pillars. Change angles often — many nodes are visible only from one side. Use the Scanner once on a fresh node to log the databank entry, then break it free.

How to harvest a Conduit Crystal node
Conduit Crystal nodes do not pop free from a basic interact. They need to be broken. Hitting a node with a charged tool, such as the Charge Blast Shield, shatters it, after which you can pick up the loose Conduit Crystal piece from the debris.
Each node typically drops 1 unit. There is no medium or large variant of this resource that yields stacks of 2–5 the way common ores do, so plan on visiting multiple nodes for every recipe.
How much you actually need
The Bioscanner is the first recipe most players chase Conduit Crystal for, since the broken Bioscanner blueprint is found in this same eastern region and crafts at a Modification Station. Several other upgrades reuse the material, so collecting extra on the same trip saves backtracking.
| Recipe | Station | Conduit Crystal needed |
|---|---|---|
| Bioscanner | Modification Station | 3 (plus 2 Enameled Glass and 1 Scanner) |
| Feedback Resonator | Modification Station | Required ingredient |
| Improved Fins | Fabricator | 2 (plus Basic Fins and Fiber Mesh) |
| Advanced Battery | Fabricator | 1 (plus Strong Acid and Silver Ingot) |
| Entangled Power Cell | Fabricator | 1 (plus Strong Acid, Gold Ingot, Troilite) |
A realistic farming goal is 5 or more on the first proper trip. Three covers the Bioscanner, and the remaining stack feeds into power and movement upgrades without forcing a second long swim out east.

If you cannot find any
The most common reasons Conduit Crystal does not show up are simple geography and search style problems.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Conduit Crystal anywhere near base | Searching too close to the Lifepod | Travel past the Alien Ruins toward the Karakorum Power Plant cliffs |
| Finding Celestine and Creature Enamel but no Conduit Crystal | Correct biome, wrong micro-location | Drop to the cliffs above the Angel Comb and check walls, not just the seafloor |
| Only one crystal per visit | Nodes spawn alone | Sweep a wider radius before leaving; circle each rock pillar |
| Bioscanner recipe still locked | Missing Enameled Glass component | Harvest Creature Enamel from large tooth clusters near Needler Mangos using a resonator on the base, not the teeth |
You know the haul worked when the Bioscanner crafts at a Modification Station and replaces the standard Alterran Scanner's function with the ability to scan fauna and flora for Biomod unlock progress. From there, Conduit Crystal stays useful through power, fins, and resonator upgrades — there is no point at which the resource becomes obsolete in the current Early Access build.
