The Blood of Dawnwalker: Blasphemous Echo Manual Location

Every reliable place to pick up this Witchcraft manual, plus the traversal skills each chest requires.

Every reliable place to pick up this Witchcraft manual, plus the traversal skills each chest requires.

The Blasphemous Echo Manual is one of the Witchcraft books Coen can read in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it exists in more than one place on the map. That matters, because two of its spots sit at the top of Scouting Towers you can only scale after dark, and one is buried in a monster lair you may want to clear first.

Quick answer: Loot the chest at the top of Maragir Wealds Tower on the eastern edge of the Maragir Wealds, or the chest inside the Kobold’s Nest east of the Southern Swampside Shrine. Reading the book unlocks Blasphemous Echo for purchase in the development tree.

Manuals are not one-per-save collectibles. The same book turns up in several chests, sits in vendor inventories, and can drop from defeated enemies, so there is no hard limit on how many copies you can end up with. You only need one to unlock the ability.

Grab it from the Kobold’s Nest east of Southern Swampside Shrine

This is the most straightforward run of the four, because it does not depend on the day-night cycle or on tower-specific traversal. It is a monster lair, so expect a fight before you reach the loot.

Fast travel to the Southern Swampside Shrine and head east until the Kobold’s Nest marker appears. The approach runs over broken rock, and Clawride prompts will pop up on the cliff faces to pull you up the steeper sections.

Move into the cave itself and clear whatever is nesting inside. The interior is dark and cramped, so keep an eye on the quest tracker in the corner of the HUD to stay oriented.

Follow the objective marker deeper into the tunnel until you reach the chamber holding the chest. The marker is the fastest way through, since side passages loop back on themselves.

Open the chest and use Loot All rather than picking through items one by one. The manual sits in the same container as ordinary junk like an Old Fishing Net, and it is easy to leave behind if you cherry-pick.

Climb Maragir Wealds Tower for the manual

Maragir Wealds Tower sits on the far eastern edge of the region and is the tower most players reach first. Before you set out, two rules govern every Scouting Tower in Vale Sangora.

  • Towers can only be climbed at night, because the routes depend on vampiric traversal skills such as Shadowstep and Planeshift.
  • Climbing and surveying does not push the clock forward, so you can chain several towers in a single night without burning story time.

A Vidmo specter waits inside this one, so clear it before you start looking for footholds. Once you reach the top, use the survey prompt to reveal nearby points of interest on the world map, then loot the chest at the summit for the manual.

Rockfalls Tower: The second tower copy

Rockfalls Tower holds the same manual and sits due south of the abandoned village of Oghasti, west of the Lunar Manor. The important detail is the route. Your stamina will not stretch far enough to Planeshift up the outer walls, so trying to wall-walk from the ground is wasted effort.

Go inside instead and Shadowstep from one wooden board to the next, working your way up the shaft. The chest is waiting near the top alongside the survey point.

Boar’s Back Tower stands in Shrike’s Crag, west of Svartrau City. The ruin is missing most of its floors, which is exactly why Clawride is the tool for the job here.

Use Clawride to get through the lower opening rather than aiming for the first-floor doorway, which is easy to undershoot. The base of the tower is flooded, and from there you chain Clawride jumps between the surviving wooden platforms until you reach the high one holding the container.

The chest here holds several items at once, so open it fully before dropping back down.

Buy the Blasphemous Echo Manual from the Matriarch

If you would rather skip the climbing entirely, the Matriarch Witchcraft Vendor stocks the book. This is the safest option for anyone who has already sunk time into the towers and found other manuals in those chests instead, since vendor stock does not depend on the night cycle or on clearing a lair.

How to confirm the manual worked

Picking the book up is not the same as learning the skill. Read the manual from your inventory, then open the Character menu and check the Witchcraft branch of the development tree. Blasphemous Echo should now be available for purchase, which is the confirmation you are looking for.

Note: Vampirism skills work differently and have no manuals at all. Those unlock through Corruption Level, which rises as you drink blood, so do not go hunting for books to raise them.

If a tower route seems impossible, check the time of day first. Scouting Towers simply cannot be scaled in daylight, and Shadowstep and Planeshift are what make the ledges and walls usable in the first place. Beyond that, extra copies of the manual are harmless. Since enemies can drop them at random, you will likely end up with spares long after Blasphemous Echo is already unlocked.
