Denarii run the whole economy in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and the 30-day clock makes earning them the hard way feel like a losing race. There is a loot exploit in Svartrau City that removes that pressure entirely: a merchant corpse that never runs out of the same pair of bracers, no matter how many times you take them.
Quick answer: Travel to Svartrau City during the day, kill the Armourer and his guards inside his shop next to the shrine, then loot Darksteel Bracers from his body over and over — the item stays in the corpse’s loot list — and sell the copies to other traders for at least 15 denarii each.
Why the Darksteel Bracers loop pays out
The bracers are a mid-tier armour piece with a floor sale price, which is the only part that matters here. Because the corpse never removes the item from its container, every loot press is another sellable object at zero cost. There is no cooldown and no cap other than your carry weight and the coin each vendor is holding.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Item | Darksteel Bracers |
| Type | Superior Medium Bracers |
| Item level | 13 |
| Armour | 16 |
| Minimum sale price | 15 denarii each |
| Source | Armourer’s corpse, Svartrau City |
Farming this way also costs you nothing on the story clock. Time in Vale Sangora only moves when you take a signposted action — starting a quest marked with an hourglass, waiting out an event, or manually flipping between day and night. Standing in a shop pressing loot does not advance a single day.

How to confirm the exploit is working
You will know within two presses. After the first pull, close and reopen the corpse — if Darksteel Bracers are still listed, the loop is live. Open your inventory and you should see the grid filling with identical Superior Medium Bracers entries rather than a single pair.
If it stops working, the reasons are narrow. The shop is only staffed during the day, so a night visit leaves you with nothing to kill. Surviving guards will interrupt the looting, so clear all of them before you settle in. And the game has already taken hotfixes since launch, so an update can close the loop on your build — a version that removes the duplicate entry cannot be worked around.
Turning the bracers into denarii
The Armourer you just killed obviously cannot buy them back, so the bracers have to go to other traders. Each pair clears at least 15 denarii, and the real limit is how much coin any single merchant has on hand. Sell until a vendor is drained, move to the next one, and rotate through the traders you have unlocked around Vale Sangora.
Tip: pull only what you can carry to the next vendor. The shrine stash means there is no reason to walk around overloaded, and hauling fifty pairs at once slows you down for no extra profit.
What killing the Armourer costs you
Merchants in this game stay dead. Once the Armourer is down, his shop is gone for the rest of that playthrough, including anything on his shelves you might have wanted later. That matters in Svartrau specifically, because the city is also home to the Silver Trader, the only vendor who buys Silver items and the one tied to the Smuggler trophy for earning 1,000 denarii from silver sales. Losing a trader to a fight is how that trophy becomes unobtainable, so keep your killing confined to the armour stall.
Denarii farming without the glitch
If you would rather not break the economy, the same freedom from the clock still applies. As long as you avoid triggering main story markers, you can roam the whole map, clear camps, and empty chests without spending days.
| What to sell | Where and when |
|---|---|
| Junk | Any merchant — use the “Sell all Junk” option to clear it in one press |
| Trade Goods | Their own inventory tab; higher-value junk picked up while exploring |
| Silver items (White Chalice tag) | Silver Trader in Svartrau, unlocked after finishing the “Into the Den” quest |
| Spare green and blue gear | Any merchant, early and mid game once you have upgrades |
| Weaker purple gear | Late game, once most of your kit is Legendary |
High-level soldier and bandit camps are the densest source of Silver items, which makes them the closest thing to a legitimate money route in the back half of a run.
Exploits like this tend to have a short shelf life. If unlimited denarii is the run you want, do it on the build you are on now and keep a separate save from before you walked into that shop — that way a patch, or a change of heart about killing a vendor, does not cost you the playthrough.
