The Blood of Dawnwalker: Search for Villagers With Walking Canes (Blasphemy)

The suspect sits outside a log cabin in Ansa's Glen, and two specific dialogue prompts close the case.

The suspect sits outside a log cabin in Ansa’s Glen, and two specific dialogue prompts close the case.

The stolen banner in Laslea points to one man, and the objective that asks you to search villagers with walking canes using Focus Mode is the step where the Blasphemy quest finally names him. The search zone marked on the map covers a wide stretch of countryside, which makes the objective feel more open-ended than it is. There is only one villager who matters.

Quick answer: Head to Ansa’s Glen and find Premysl sitting on a bench outside a wooden cabin. Talk to him, pick the dialogue lines about his injured hand and his cane, then choose “I know you stole the banner, Premysl.”

Blasphemy quest details and the Ansa’s Glen search area

Blasphemy is one of the side quests available during the prologue, alongside jobs like Live Bait, Dead Drop and Enter Not. Prologue content does not carry over into the open world, so finish the banner investigation before the story moves past Laslea or it disappears entirely.

Open the journal, track Blasphemy, and the search zone appears on the world map over Ansa’s Glen. Ignore the size of the circle. Your destination is the cluster of log cabins inside it.

How to use Focus Mode to find Premysl

Focus Mode drains the color out of the world and highlights anything you can interact with. Ordinary objects and people glow white, while anything tied to the active quest glows gold. That color split is the entire trick here, because it separates the one villager the quest cares about from everyone else wandering the glen.

Travel into Ansa’s Glen and walk toward the log cabins inside the marked zone. Keep Blasphemy tracked so the objective text stays on screen.
Turn on Focus Mode as you approach the buildings and sweep the area. Villagers standing around will read as white, so keep moving until something reads gold.
Look for a man seated on a bench outside a wooden cabin. That is Premysl, with a cane beside him and a visible injury to his hand. Approach him to start the conversation.

Dialogue options that confront Premysl about the banner

Simply finding Premysl is not enough. The accusation only unlocks once Coen has raised both pieces of evidence in conversation, so work through the prompts in order rather than exiting the dialogue early.

Open with “Somebody stole the banner – did you hear?” Premysl denies knowing anything about it, which is expected and does not mean you have the wrong man.
Choose “I see you’ve hurt your hand.” He blames his own clumsiness. Coen files it away as the first piece of evidence.
Choose “Is that your cane?” Premysl explains what he uses it for, which is the second piece Coen needs.
Select “I know you stole the banner, Premysl.” Coen ties the cane and the wounded hand directly to the theft, and the confrontation plays out.

How to tell the objective is complete

The search objective clears the moment Coen makes the accusation stick. The journal entry for Blasphemy updates and the walking cane search line is replaced, and the search zone stops appearing over Ansa’s Glen on the map. If the objective text has not changed, the accusation line was never selected.

Note: the outcome of Blasphemy carries forward into the prologue’s church scene. What hangs above the altar during Sacred Covenant can differ depending on how the banner theft was resolved.

Reasons the accusation does not appear

  • You skipped the hand or cane prompts. Both have to be raised before the accusation option becomes selectable.
  • You left the conversation early. Talk to Premysl again and work back through the remaining prompts.
  • You are searching outside Ansa’s Glen. Other villagers in the valley do not advance the objective.
  • The prologue has already ended. Blasphemy is missable and cannot be picked back up afterward.

Once Premysl has been named, Blasphemy moves on and you can spend the rest of your prologue time on the other Laslea side quests before the Blood Mass begins.
