How to Complete Xanthe’s Blood Guards: Loophole in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Clear the Blood Guard camp in Yedera Marsh, settle the Uriash conversation, and collect 250 XP plus a skill point.

Loophole is one of the quieter entries on Xanthe’s Court panel, and one of the fastest to close out. There is no puzzle, no note hunt, and no hidden chest tucked behind a Focus Mode prompt. You walk into a Blood Guard camp in the Yedera Marsh area, kill everyone wearing Xanthe’s colors, and then decide what to do with the one survivor who talks to you instead of swinging at you.

Quick answer: Travel to the Blood Guard camp near the Yedera Marsh Guardpost, defeat every hostile inside the trespassing area, then finish the Uriash cutscene with either dialogue option. The activity closes the moment the conversation ends, paying out 250 XP and one skill point.

Loophole activity details in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Loophole sits in the Blood Guard mentors group of Xanthe’s Court Activities, alongside Unquenchable Thirst and Teach with Pain. Like almost every Court Activity, it does not appear on your map on its own. It stays listed as an unknown activity until you either stumble across the camp or reveal the area from one of the towers, which drops white question mark icons on nearby points of interest.

Three time segments is the standard price for a Xanthe activity, and you have 30 in-game days total before the story hard-stops. Time only moves when you spend it, so a camp clear like this one is cheap relative to what it does for her Anger Level.

Clearing the Blood Guard camp

Open the map and set the marker on the camp near the Yedera Marsh Guardpost, then check the Journal entry so the objective “Clear out Xanthe’s soldier’s campsite” is the one you are tracking. Tracking it keeps the marker visible while you ride in.
Approach the front of the camp on foot. A single guard stands at the gate ahead of the palisade, and killing him is what pushes you into the trespassing state that flags the rest of the camp hostile.

Push inside and work through the guards in waves rather than sprinting to the middle. Archers are stationed beside the tents and will keep chipping at you while the melee guards close in, so break their line first.

Keep your lock-on rotating between targets so nobody flanks you inside the palisade. The armored guards here have full red health bars and will trade blows for a while, which is why hitting the camp under-leveled is the main thing that turns a two-minute fight into a reload.

Finish the last pair of guards near the huts at the back of the camp. Coen hits harder at night with claws than with the sword, so if you have the time to spare, arriving after dark makes this stretch shorter.

Note: nothing in the camp needs to be destroyed or inspected. Unlike Unquenchable Thirst, which hides a Sword Shard in a tent, Loophole has no secondary object tied to another quest.

The Uriash cutscene and your dialogue choice

With the camp emptied, a cutscene triggers with Uriash, a horned figure who asks why you helped him. Two responses are offered: “I won’t let you off the hook.” and “You are free to leave.” Picking the second one sends him away peacefully, and Coen tells him to head back to the mountains.

The activity completes either way. If you are playing cautiously, letting him walk is the safer habit across the whole valley, since killing non-hostile characters is how players quietly lock themselves out of side content elsewhere in the game.

Rewards and camp loot

Completion pays 250 XP and one skill point. The bodies scattered around the camp are worth a sweep before you leave, since the drops here cover gear, crafting, and pocket money.

How to confirm Loophole counted toward Xanthe’s Anger

Two things happen back to back once Uriash leaves. The quest ticks over to completed in your Journal with the XP and skill point popups, and the entry stops showing in your active list. Open the Court menu afterward and the Loophole slot in Xanthe’s panel will be filled in rather than sitting as an unknown activity.

If the objective is still showing as incomplete, there is usually only one reason: a guard is alive somewhere on the edge of the camp. Sweep the perimeter and the outer huts before assuming anything is bugged, because the cutscene will not fire while a hostile remains in the area.

Loophole on its own will not max out Xanthe’s Anger. Her region holds 15 Court Activities, and clearing roughly three quarters of a vassal’s set is what unlocks the duel quest, in her case The Cycle of Love. Treat this camp as one of the cheapest boxes to tick on the way there, and bank a manual save afterward so the time you just spent is not something you have to spend twice.
