The Coiled Isle: How to Fast Travel There in WoW Midnight

The housing portal and the Arcatina Key both drop you onto the island in seconds once the zone is unlocked.

The housing portal and the Arcatina Key both drop you onto the island in seconds once the zone is unlocked.

The Coiled Isle sits off the eastern coast of Zul’Aman, and the long way there means flying out from Silvermoon City, over Zul’Aman, and across open water. Once you have the zone unlocked, you never have to make that trip again. There are shortcuts that put you on the island almost instantly.

Quick answer: After unlocking The Coiled Isle, use the portal in your Warband housing plot (Horde: 54.16, 56.05 / Alliance: 53.15, 38.14) for the fastest trip. If you have finished the Arcatina quest, set your Hearthstone to The Coiled Isle and use the Arcatina Key to return to Silvermoon City.

Unlock The Coiled Isle before any shortcut works

None of the fast-travel options exist until the zone is open on your account. Access is tied to the Patch 12.1 campaign, The Curse of Ula’tek, not to logging in after the patch drops. Trying to approach the island early just kicks you back out of the zone.

Pick up Hagar’s Invitation from Orweyna at the Sanctum of Light in central Silvermoon City. This begins Chapter 1, Legacy of the Amani, and starts you toward the isle.
Work through the early campaign chapters. The quest What Lies Beyond the Fog in Chapter 2 sends you to the island and clears the fog blocking it.
Finish the introductory objectives on the island. Once done, every character in your Warband can fly to The Coiled Isle, and flying is enabled there immediately.

Housing portal: the fastest current route

If you have unlocked the housing system, a portal in your plot takes you straight to The Coiled Isle. You only need the campaign introduction complete and housing access. No extra quest chain is required beyond that.

Travel to the coordinates below inside your housing plot and interact with the portal waiting there. Both faction locations lead to the same island.

The portal does not show an icon on the map, so it is easy to walk past. Installing TomTom and pasting the coordinates as a waypoint makes it simple to find. You will know it worked when the loading screen finishes and you land directly on The Coiled Isle.

Astalor’s Sanctum portal from Silvermoon City

A dedicated portal links Silvermoon City and The Coiled Isle, and it runs both ways. It sits inside Astalor’s Sanctum in Silvermoon City. This is the most direct connection between the capital and the island once you have it.

The portal opens after you complete the short Prey Season 2 introductory questline. That content becomes available when Midnight Season 2 begins on August 18, 2026. You may need to clear the first few chapters of the season’s story before the portal appears.

Note: Until Season 2 launches, this route is not live. Use the housing portal or the Arcatina Key method in the meantime.

Arcatina Key and Hearthstone loop

If you have completed the Arcatina quest, you unlock the Arcatina Key, which gives you a fast two-way loop with your Hearthstone. Set your Hearthstone bind to The Coiled Isle and let the Arcatina Key carry you back to Silvermoon City. Hearthing then returns you to the island. This gives you a reliable round trip without relying on the housing or Season 2 portals.

Flying and flight paths

Flying works on The Coiled Isle the moment the zone unlocks, so a flying mount is always a backup way in. You can also take a flight path directly to Tokka’s Landing once it is discovered. If you prefer, you can swim across from Zul’Aman, though sharks and threshadons in the water make that the riskiest option.

One limit to keep in mind: flying is disabled underground in the Vaults of Atal’Utek, where you are restricted to the ground. On the surface, though, mounted flight is the most flexible way to move around after you arrive.
