The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Get the Razkovniche Elixir (The Hedgehog Herb)

The abandoned village of Oghasti hides a blood-fed plant that permanently raises Coen's health and pays out a skill point.

The abandoned village of Oghasti hides a blood-fed plant that permanently raises Coen’s health and pays out a skill point.

Most of the ruined houses scattered across Vale Sangora in The Blood of Dawnwalker are just loot containers with roofs. One of them isn’t. In the abandoned village of Oghasti, a dead herbalist left behind seeds for razkovniche, a plant that drinks blood and, once brewed, permanently raises Coen’s maximum health on both sides of his human-vampire split. The side quest that covers it is called The Hedgehog Herb, and it’s one of the few permanent stat boosts in the game.

Quick answer: Go to Oghasti, grab the axe and watering can outside the house, take the Razkovniche Potion Recipe and seeds inside, use Compel Soul on the corpse during the day, plant the seeds in the ceramic pot and feed them your blood, wait one full in-game day (16 time segments), harvest the plant, then have Anca brew it for free.

What the Razkovniche Elixir gives you

The elixir is a Utility Item, and it can only be made once. The health increase applies when you drink it, and it never wears off.

RewardDetail
Maximum human health+20%, permanent
Maximum vampiric health+10%, permanent
Skill Point1, from completing the quest
Repeatable?No — one craft only

Total time cost is roughly two to three time segments of activity, plus the full in-game day the plant needs to grow. You don’t have to sit and wait for that day — go do other quests and come back.

Where The Hedgehog Herb starts: Oghasti

Oghasti is an abandoned settlement in the southern part of the world map, sitting near one of the Scouting Towers and on the route you already travel during the Sanzhani Fairies arc. There’s no quest giver and no prerequisite. Walking into the right house is the trigger.

Wolves have moved into the ruins, so expect a fight before you get inside. The house you want is on the northeastern side of the village, and it has a body on the bed.

Collect the items and question the herbalist

The corpse won’t tell you how to grow anything unless you’re holding the right props. Gather everything before you talk to it.

Pick up the axe lying on the ground outside the front door. It’s one of the two catalysts the spirit reacts to.
Walk around to the side of the hut and take the watering can. This is easy to miss because it sits outside the quest marker area.
Head inside and turn on Focus Mode. Take the Razkovniche Potion Recipe off the wall — that alone unlocks the Razkovniche Elixir recipe in your crafting menu.
Inspect the small seedbox in the middle of the room, then inspect the seeds inside it to take the Razkovniche Seeds. The herbalist’s journal next to it fills in the backstory.

With the sun up, use Compel Soul on the body and present the items one by one. The watering can and the Razkovniche Potion Recipe are the two that make the spirit explain how the plant is fed.

Note: Compel Soul is daytime-only. If you arrive at night, the corpse simply won’t respond and the objective will sit there unfinished.

The containers scattered around the room are worth a sweep while you’re here — they hold crafting materials, denarius, and odds and ends like the Recipe for Vitality Balm.

Plant the seeds, feed them blood, and wait a day

Interact with the ceramic pot on the wooden bench across the room and plant the Razkovniche Seeds. This costs one time segment.
Choose the option to give the plant a few drops of your blood. Coen pricks his hand over the pot — water does nothing here.

Let one full in-game day pass — 16 time segments. If you planted at noon, come back at noon the following day. Anything short of that and the plant won’t be ready.
Return to the house and pick the fully grown Razkovniche Plant. Harvesting spawns a Vidmo specter outside, so be ready to fight on your way out.

Brewing the elixir: Anca, the Silberstein medic, or Coen

Once you’re holding the plant, the game offers a choice of who turns it into a potion. The resulting elixir and its stats are identical no matter which you pick, so this is a question of money, time, and whether you want the extra scene.

Who brews itCostWorth knowing
Anca, at the Crossroads InnFree, 1 time segmentIncludes a dialogue scene with her about the potion
Silberstein medic, Svartrau City100 denarius, 1 time segmentFound on the southeastern side of the city
Coen, by himselfFree, no extra time segmentNeeds 1x Strong Ancient Reagent and 2x Tatzelwurm Glands

To do it yourself, open the menu wheel, go to Crafting, scroll to Utility Items, select Razkovniche Elixir, and hold to craft. The Strong Ancient Reagent comes from Ancient Ruins, and the glands drop from Tatzelwurms. If you don’t have both, handing the plant to someone else is the faster route.

How to confirm the quest is done

The Hedgehog Herb closes out the moment the potion is made. You’ll see the Razkovniche Elixir land in your inventory as a Utility Item, and the skill point registers on your character screen. The journal entry updates to note that Coen turned the plant into a potion said to cure all illnesses.

The health bonus itself only applies once you actually drink the elixir, so don’t leave it sitting in your bags. There’s also a second, quieter outcome for this quest: if you decide not to dig into the house’s secrets and move on, the journal simply notes that Coen had more pressing matters, and the elixir never happens.

Why the quest stalls

  • You arrived at night — Compel Soul only works during daylight hours.
  • You skipped the axe or the watering can, so the spirit has nothing to react to and won’t explain the growing method.
  • You came back too early — the plant needs a full 16 time segments, not a nap.
  • You’re trying to self-craft without the Strong Ancient Reagent or Tatzelwurm Glands.

Given how tight the 30-day clock gets later on, the smart play is to plant the seeds early, walk away, and swing back through Oghasti whenever the day has rolled over. The detour costs a couple of time segments in total, and a permanent 20 percent bump to human health pays for itself long before the final act.
