Roblox’s 20th anniversary event turns two decades of platform history into a single chronological run. Twenty years, twenty featured experiences, twenty free avatar items, and a locked door at the end labeled Year Infinity. The catch is that none of it works the way a normal badge hunt does: you cannot cherry-pick the easy games and skip the slog, because each year only opens after the one before it is finished and claimed.
Quick answer: Work through the years in order. Clear the hub objective, finish the featured game’s quest, then return to the hub and claim that year’s item. All 20 claims unlock Year Infinity.
The four-step loop that gates every year
Every one of the 20 years runs on the same cycle, and skipping any part of it leaves you stuck on that year. The steps are the hub’s year objective, the featured game’s quest, the trip back to the hub, and the claim that opens the next era. The Roblox cube in the middle of The Hunt: Roblox 20 lobby is the teleporter that moves you forward once a year is done.
You can also join a featured experience straight from Roblox rather than through the portal, and the quest will still complete. The reward will not appear on your avatar until you come back to the hub and take it from the pedestal, though, and the next year stays locked until you do. The event runs through September 28th, 2026.

Hub tasks you clear before the portal opens
Most years put a small activity inside the hub map itself, and the portal to the featured game is the reward for finishing it. These are short, but they are easy to overlook if you go looking for the game first.
- 2006: finish the scavenger hunt in the Crossroads hub area.
- 2007: activate 5 buttons scattered around the map.
- 2008: find and paint 10 eggs.
- 2009: survive the tornado challenge.
- 2011: survive the meteor shower section.
- 2012: complete the flag section.
- 2013: clear three collectible areas.
- 2021: find 5 keys around the Piggy hub area.
- 2025: talk to Green Bean, plant a seed, and water it with the button.
The 2023 hub task is the odd one out. NPC chunchbunch hands you a laser gun, you shoot 8 floating red orbs in the sky, and then you speak to them again to close the quest out before the Blade Ball portal is usable.
The Piggy key hunt has a known issue where keys stop spawning entirely. If your counter freezes, leave and rejoin the game to reset the spawns.
2006–2009: the classic combat years
The opening stretch is the fastest part of the whole run. Crossroads only wants three KOs, and the Rocket Launcher makes short work of it when players cluster around the middle of the map. Sword Fights on the Heights IV swaps eliminations for collection: pick up four different swords, and treat fights as something to avoid rather than seek out.
Rocket Arena raises the bar to five KOs with rockets, and Chaos Canyon asks for four in a much tighter map, so expect opponents to close the distance quickly. None of these four require a win condition, only the counter.
The long quests: pizza, zombies, boats, and towers
2010: Work at a Pizza Place
Ignore the regular pizzeria jobs entirely. The event runs a Secret Recipe storyline that sends you back in time, where you make and box a Cheese Pizza, a Pepperoni Pizza, and a Sausage Pizza and deliver each to the right house. Use the mailboxes to match addresses, enter 0917 at the keypad when the quest asks for it, and stay until the recipe is in hand and the Time Machine section is done.
2013: Apocalypse Rising 2
This is the most demanding year on the board because it bundles three objectives into one. You need a backpack, a primary weapon, and a melee weapon, five zombie kills, 2,000 studs traveled on foot, and a sunrise or sunset witnessed in-game. That last one is a waiting game, so collect gear and kills while the clock cycles.
2016: Roblox High School
A student is lost in the space-time continuum, and the quest is pure narrative. Follow the NPC prompts until you are given a Metal Detector, sweep for three relics, then bring them back to Chuck to close the story.
2018: Build a Boat for Treasure
Resist the urge to build something elaborate. A small, stable boat that actually steers will reach the bakery faster than a sprawling one that breaks apart halfway down the river.
Arriving at the bakery does not finish the year on its own. You also have to bake the cake once you are there, and only then does the quest register as complete.
2020: World // Zero
The OG Tower has to be cleared floor by floor, ending with the boss at the top. An underleveled character will struggle here, so joining a group and letting stronger players carry the fight is the practical route.
Counter-based years and how to speed them up
The remaining years all come down to filling a number, and several of them have a shortcut worth knowing.
- Natural Disaster Survival: carry an animal through the round, then drop it at the pen. Repeat three times.
- Base Wars: a Skirmish win finishes it instantly, but two losses also get you there at 50% each.
- Murder Mystery 2: 50 coins total across any number of rounds, and your assigned role is irrelevant.
- Lumber Tycoon 2: chop, load a vehicle, and deliver wood to Geck in batches instead of armfuls.
- Jailbreak: the five YouTuber NPCs glow yellow up close, and a helicopter or fast car cuts the search down.
- Adopt Me!: the Throwback Egg costs 400 Bucks, so bank the currency first, then keep it equipped and feed its needs.
- For Berry Avenue RP: take on the Doctor, Police Officer, and Air Hostess roles separately.
- Blade Ball: three Tix from event Knights, which usually spans more than one match.
- Dress to Impress: teleport into the 2024 Rewind event server and play two full rounds. Placement does not matter.
- Grow a Garden: take fruit from the Wise Owl’s garden and run it to Sam until the counter hits 50. Overloading slows you down, so make several trips.
Claiming each item and confirming a year is done
Completing a quest awards that game’s badge, which is your first confirmation. The second comes in the hub, where the year’s item sits on a pedestal that becomes interactive only after the quest is finished. Take it, and the glowing cube for the next year lights up.
Three anniversary extras sit outside the main 20-item track: the Roblox Plus Hard Hat, Noob Attack: Birthday Bash, and The Twentieth Teapot. Roblox Plus subscribers also keep the Classic app theme, a classic avatar background, and a profile frame after the event closes, while everyone else loses the Classic theme when it ends.
What Year Infinity unlocks
Claiming the Grow a Garden reward closes the 2025 chapter and opens the cube leading to the area marked Welcome to 2026. That is Year Infinity, the post-timeline phase that moves the event past the historical retrospective and into a fresh set of experiences representing 2026 and beyond. There are also hidden item pedestals tucked into caves and buildings on the older maps, including the 2006 area, which you can go back for once the main route is open behind you.
Because the route is strictly chronological, the slowest years act as bottlenecks for everything after them. If you are pacing yourself before the September 28th cutoff, get Apocalypse Rising 2 and World // Zero out of the way early rather than saving them for the final day.
