The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu — Is It on Xbox Game Pass?

The Lovecraft co-op horror skipped the subscription at launch, so here is how to actually get it.

The Lovecraft co-op horror skipped the subscription at launch, so here is how to actually get it.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu launched as a paid title, and a lot of Xbox players want to know one thing before they commit to a cursed jungle expedition. It is a four-player co-op horror game from ACE Team and Nacon, and its subscription status is the deciding factor for anyone hoping to try it without buying it outright.

Quick answer: The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is not included in Xbox Game Pass at launch. To play it, you buy the Standard Edition for £24.99 or the Deluxe Edition for £34.99 from the Microsoft Store.

Game Pass status on Xbox

There is no Game Pass entry for The Mound at release. The game is available to purchase separately on Xbox Series X|S, and it is not bundled into any tier of the subscription. If you have Game Pass, opening the store page will still show a price rather than an “Install with Game Pass” option.

Note: This reflects the launch line-up. No official date has been confirmed for the game joining Game Pass later, so treat any subscription access as unavailable until Nacon or Xbox says otherwise.

How to buy The Mound on Xbox

Open the store listing for the version you want. The base game sits on the Standard Edition store page, while the expanded bundle has its own Deluxe Edition store page.
Confirm the price and complete the purchase. The Standard Edition is £24.99 and the Deluxe Edition is £34.99. Because the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, a single purchase covers both Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Install and check crossplay. The Mound uses full crossplay, so you can team up with friends on PlayStation 5 and PC as long as everyone owns a copy.

You know the purchase worked when the store shows “Installed” and the game boots to the galleon staging area, where your team divides weapons and equipment before an expedition.

The game is built around a madness system inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, where hallucinations, misleading sounds, and paranoia distort what your team sees the deeper you push into the jungle. Proximity voice chat keeps communication tied to the world, and fallen players can become corrupted and turn on the group, which is why the game rewards staying close together.

For now, buying a copy is the only way in. If you were counting on the subscription to cover it, that path is closed at launch, so the Standard or Deluxe Edition is the route to the galleon and the jungle beyond it.
