The Park Resonant is an optional side quest in Control Resonant that sends Dylan Faden through a mold-covered quarantine zone to eat four pieces of “Delicious Mold.” Clearing it opens a sealed Mold Gate, leads to the Resonant boss known as The Collective, and rewards the Spore Burst talent node along with the Insidious Growth trophy.

Quick answer: Eat the four mold pieces (cafe, gym, pizzeria, and minimart), return to the central chasm where the Mold Gate has opened, then defeat The Collective to unlock Spore Burst and the Insidious Growth trophy.

How to reach The Park and start the quest

The Park is optional, and the main story never requires visiting it. Once you reach the Central zone, you may enter at any time. Find The Park Checkpoint in Central’s north-east corner, then go through it to reach the district.

From the East Supply Route Station fast-travel door, head to the starting rooftop with the research balloon and mirror frame. Levitate off the edge and drop into the teal mold canyon below. At the base of that chasm you will find a small service room marked “DO NOT INGEST THE MOLD.”

Inside that room, interact with the Piece of Delicious Mold on the round table next to the counter. Eating it activates the quest “The Park Resonant” and marks three more mold pieces on your objectives.

Completing The Central Resonant fight first is worth doing, since the ability it grants makes moving through the Mold far easier.

All four Delicious Mold locations

The first mold in the central room starts the quest. After that, three more strains are marked at the gym, the pizzeria, and the minimart. You can eat them in any order, though the route below follows a clean loop around the district.

Gym Mold

From the starting room, glide through the mold canyons, climb the multi-level parking garage, and run to the gym marker. Open the map if you lose your bearings to pinpoint the building.

Drop through the amber mold pit beneath the broken sign, enter the mold-coated office room, and eat the Second Piece of Delicious Mold from the desk.

Pizzeria Mold

Leave the gym, drop through the yellow mold crevices, and head toward the sewer drainage entrance on the east side of The Park. Run and glide through the concrete drainage pipes marked with FBC arrows, then climb back up to the surface streets.

Drop into the amber-filled alley to reach Baroni’s Pizza Place and eat the Third Piece of Delicious Mold from the dining booth. If the mold has no interact prompt, break the pizzeria’s windows from outside so the yellow fog clears, then interact with it.

Minimart Mold

The simplest route starts at the Urban Fresh Mart marker in The Park’s south-west corner. Move over the rooftops by climbing and gliding, descend to the storefront, and go inside. At the checkout counter, eat the fourth mold on the cardboard boxes. The objective changes to “Kill the Resonant Behind the Mold Gate.”

Open the Mold Gate and reach The Collective

With all four molds eaten, the giant circular mold barrier in the central chasm opens into a dark tunnel. Get back there quickly by using the shortcut.

Exit the Urban Fresh Mart, climb the mold wall, and enter the nearby building corridor. Press L1 to open the pair of blue security doors, which creates a fast route back toward the park entrance.
Return to the starting rooftop with the fast-travel mirror frame, then drop into the central chasm. The yellow mold barrier is now an open tunnel.
Descend through the lantern-lit caverns and sewage channels into the mold hive, then pass through the fibrous iris gateway into the circular boss arena facing The Collective.

How to beat The Collective

The Collective fights in a tunnel arena, throwing projectile volleys and energy shockwaves. Keep moving to dodge the surges, then focus your damage on its glowing bulbous pods and the central mass. Land melee hits on the core until the boss health bar empties.

Defeating the boss unlocks a choice of ability. For this Resonant you can pick Spore Burst or Growth. With Spore Burst equipped, hold Square to prepare projectiles and release the input to fire them at your target.

Confirming the reward and the trophy

After the fight, Dylan is pulled into a monochrome astral gap where a prompt reveals the new talent node. Hold Down on the D-Pad to leave the gap. A white flash returns Dylan to the realm, and the trophy “Insidious Growth” pops as confirmation that the quest is complete.

The quest is complete once it closes, the Spore Burst node appears in your talents, and the Insidious Growth trophy notification displays. Because repairing the Mural in the Gap requires every Resonant to be cleared, defeating The Park Resonant accounts for one boss in your 100% run.
