The locked Storage Room in the basement of Akeley Memorial Hospital hides a weapon mod, ammo, and crafting materials, and none of it is required to finish the main story. The gate uses a four-digit padlock, and you can open it the moment you reach the room if you already know the number.
Quick answer: Enter 1308 on the padlock gate inside the basement Storage Room. The lock releases, and you gain access to the loot.

Where the Storage Room is and how to reach it
The Storage Room sits on -1F, the hospital basement, close to the Morgue. Getting inside takes two separate steps. A rusted iron door blocks the entrance, and a second four-digit gate blocks the loot behind it.

This is not a logic puzzle. The combination is spelled out across four clue notes scattered through the hospital, and each note carries one digit along with its position in the code. Collect all four, connect them in the investigation tab, and the game assembles 1308 for you.
You can find the Storage Room early in the chapter, but the notes are spread far enough apart that finding them naturally takes you close to the final third of the hospital. Entering 1308 by hand skips that wait entirely.
| Note | Location |
|---|---|
| Clue note 1 | Outpatient room, 2F |
| Clue note 2 | Small room near the Prosthetics Workshop, 2F (after you have the Old Man’s Face Mask) |
| Clue note 3 | On a table outside the General Ward, 2F (reached through a hole in the Isolation Wards) |
| Clue note 4 | Nurse Station, 2F |
Note: Every note stays accessible until you use the charged Prism to remove the containment barrier. Some rooms become harder to reach after that point, so grab the notes earlier if you want the Dream Essence tied to connecting them.

What you get for opening the Storage Room
Behind the gate is a mix of a weapon accessory, ammunition, and crafting materials. The standout is Doyle’s Cold Blood, a modification for the submachine gun.
| Item | Type |
|---|---|
| Doyle’s Cold Blood | SMG mod |
| Rifle Ammo | Ammunition |
| SMG Ammo | Ammunition |
| Healing Herb (x2) | Healing material |
| Gunpowder | Crafting material |
Doyle’s Cold Blood rewards sustained SMG fire by slowing down the enemies you keep shooting. That pairs well with the long fights against mutated humans that follow once you leave the hospital, so the loot is worth holding onto for that stretch.

Confirming it worked and the “The Vault” trophy
You know the code took when the padlock disengages and the gate swings open to the shelves of loot. Opening it also awards the “The Vault” achievement or trophy for investigating the locked storage.
If the code does not work, check that you entered exactly 1-3-0-8 in that order. And if the door itself will not budge before the padlock, you are missing the Anti-Rust Acid from the Prosthetics Workshop on 2F, which has to be applied to the rusted door first.
Skipping the clue notes only costs you the Dream Essence from linking them in the investigator’s view. If you are chasing every collectible or all the achievements, collect the four notes on your way through 2F. If you just want the loot, 1308 gets you straight in.
