Launch Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on your Nintendo Switch and wait for your island to fully load.
Open the in-game Menu and select Add a Mii. When prompted for an input method, choose the QR code scan option. You can also reach the same screen by visiting the Town Hall and selecting the QR Code option from there.
Hold your Switch camera toward the QR code image and keep it steady. The game reads the code and loads the Mii data automatically — no button press needed once it locks on.
Confirm the new islander to add them to your island. They will appear on the island map immediately, ready to be greeted and start interacting with your existing Miis.
